Wow, what a day.
Haha, thanks, Jalimon.Yes, I am a very lucky guy. But I am back to my laptop, and now I can finally sit down to what's really important, which is reading the latest 4th grade level insults sent me by CB Brown. I guess he must be frustrated by all the evidence that is showing how corrupt his boy Donald is. I don't understand why so many of the right wing advocates on merb cannot control their tempers and have a civilized debate. Possibly it's because the facts are not on their side usually, so they get frustrated by having to obfuscate and gaslight.
And now that Bolton's manuscript has partially been revealed, this 11 year Fox News veteran commentator apparently has lots more to say about Trump's corruption not only regarding blackmailing Ukraine but also his self-dealing with many other foreign governments; we shall see what more comes to light and how quickly. Trump's apologists will be again twisting themselves into intellectual pretzels trying distract and defend the indefensible; wait for it.
CB Brown, Trump never concerns himself with government corruption, because he is directly involved in corruption himself. It's in his DNA and through his adult life. And now, even his defense attorney Robert Ray argued yesterday it was "not a perfect (phone) call. Actually it was quite damning, if you read the memorandum of the call.
"the bottom line is if he was really guilty the congress would convict him
there is no evidence of a crime for get waht you can google or waht you think." (C.B.Brown #127)
The reason I referenced OJ Simpson is that I know of no one else but you that believes OJ was innocent. Indeed, the families of victims Brown and Goldman ultimately sued Simpson, who was found guilty by a unanimous jury. However, the jury at the criminal trial acquitted Simpson of murder. So, I was drawing an analogy between Simpson and Trump, both obviously guilty, but the former was acquitted, and so Trump's acquittal will not prove innocence. At best it can prove "not guilty", but the evidence against him is plain as day. And more evidence will emerge against him in the ensuing weeks.
CB Brown: Jalimon's correction of your misimpression is valid. The Congressional House of Representatives has the power to Impeach, which is analogous to a criminal grand jury's power to indict. The Congressional Senate has the power to convict, which is analogous to a criminal jury trial; conviction requires a 2/3 majority, which is highly improbable in this case. Thus Jalimon is correct: Trump has already been impeached by Congress.
Jalimon, thanks, I hope our country doesn't turn into a banana republic, but Trump is trashing our good name and leadership role around the world. His foreign policy is corrosive to our national interests. CNN journalist Fareed Zakaria discussed this in his show last Sunday.
purplem: Thanks, but I think 95% of adults are way too busy living their lives, and therefore can only catch bits and pieces of the Trump impeachment and trial. Sadly, 40% of the US only watches Fox News, so they usually don't know the actual facts.
