This is beside the point of this thread but I wonder what the average number of meetings/year is for MERB members. I'm often astonished by how many dates some men go on, but my guess is that 4-6 meetings each year is average or maybe even above average, at least over 15-20 years.

You would be surprise how many peoples book once a week or more. Some its once every 2 weeks or so. But an average of 5-6 must be on the lower end. Of course depend of peoples and their budget. I am in contact with someone from the US who books like 4-5 pornstars a month, sometimes its even UTR PS/Instagram models that are very expensive. Dude has a lot of cash and fly all over the US for job...

I understand what you're saying and empathize 100%... I'm glad seeing escorts is therapeutic for you. But that doesn't mean people are entitled to low prices and all included services.

It also seems like you've done your research if you say you haven't had a lot of bad experiences.

Of course. Obviously our "right price" vary from peoples to peoples but i consider mine to be "in the normality". And im always ok to pay a bit more for an extra i like (in my case being cim/cof). Maybe its because i watched too much porn and am not use to "regular sex" so i like that style, but who knows. And yes i treat every meetings like an "event" in some sorts. I try as best as i can to pre-book and pick carefully. But of course sometimes things don't go as planned, but i try to switch gear fast and find a second best option. I rarely gone to "plan C or plan D", only if i had already paid the room or their was no option for me to meet the next day as i was gonna go home early etc, but even there i wouldn't risk "going into the hood" of Leolist and risk things lol.

Personally i feel the agency prices are still very decent mostly under 300$. Now the indy market has sky rocketed and i can understand not everyone would put 600 to 800 for an hour.

I am sorry but it is hard to sympathize.

You’ve been a member of this board since 2013, and surely must have read countless reviews and cases where people were scammed on these sites. I understand that there are some gems to be found but that’s a conscious risk you are taking. When you are falling for an ad that includes anal for $120, you only have yourself to blame.

To recommend agencies and reliable indies is missing the point with some guys. They just like to gamble. Why are people going to casinos instead of making solid investments and accumulate money over time? They need thrill not just money. So do not complain of loosing money when you gamble, you got your high before hangover.

300$ is the equivalent of 2-3 days of work for a lot of peoples. I think for base GFE its a good price. Add extras at 50-80 a pop and it can rise fast. It also follow natural inflation. When i started it was 160-180 .. and with years passing by a 20 here and there being added, feel natural and logical. Going from 400 to 600 in a year do not (to me).

I think some people raise their prices not because of inflation but because they want less clients or are in the process of retiring and they got a civ job.. Most people who charge over 400 have another decent source of income, I don't think all indies charge this price. But also, in other cities, it seems as though a lot of indy providers charge way more than here.. So I'm wondering if things may just be changing, because a lot of people are moving to Montreal and rent is no longer that much cheaper than in other major cities.. I've also noticed that when I look on tryst, the indy providers who charge the most are people who are touring to Montreal.

Also in order to charge a lot, people have to be able to pull of a ''luxury'' branding, which is easier said than done.. The branding attracts a different client base

last time i sent a deposit, the SP cancelled last minute, an hour prior to the meeting. It happens.
Then proceeded to cancel 2 more times. then Went on a small hiatus.
Didn't answer my messages for a few months. Then when they did start advertising again, told me their location had changed and they no longer would count my deposit towards any further meetings. No refund cause they didn't want to send an etransfer.
Said SP was reviewed here and advertised. So sometimes it doesn't matter. I'm not naming them publicly or privately as the matter is closed and i will never deal with them on any level again
The money while annoying doesnt matter all that much. I've pissed away more on less. The lack of accountability and excuses are what annoyed me most. if you make a deal or arrangement you honor it.
Since then, i don't actually recall meeting an SP again when i think of it, and that was over a year ago. Guess it left a bad taste for me

I'm really sorry this happened to you, but I think you were really unlucky..
I think most SP's who ask for deposits would be terrified of not being able to honor the arrangement, because they could very easily be called out here. I'm always on the SP's side, but it sucks when people do stuff like this, because then all of us have to pay for it.

She didn't seem to really care. The excuse was they changed incalls and rates went up so the deposit isnt valid and its non refundable. Only thing i said about it was its not exactly a fair reason seeing as how they cancelled and then became unreachable. Maybe they had money problems? It is what it is . I'll never send any deposits again and if that bars me from providers then so be it.

BS!!!!!!!!! That doesn’t make any sense - there’s always a way. PayPal - which I now use in case of REALLY needing to send a deposit back to avoid revealing my real infos.
She also could’ve asked you to come pick up the cash.

Ex: Last Ottawa tour - I got my period (yes it can be erratic at times lol). I sent the deposit back no question - and told the client I’d give him a little discount for this inconvenience next time I’d be back in Ottawa.

Bad taste en esti. I would also be turned off.

If ever I need to send back a deposit I will be more than happy to do so. It’s just basic respect / due diligence - whatever the arrangement - I hate having to owe someone. Even if it’s $5.00.

It does happen that we may need to reschedule for health / family reasons / unforeseen events. But the excuse of not sending back a deposit is fkn lame.

However, as a client POV - I’d like to know which SP to avoid for reasons like these because I wouldn’t wanna book a SP who does this.
The goal isn’t to tarnish her name by throwing out baseless accusations either. I’d supply proof of exchanges to show how I’m not making stuff up / talking out of my ass - while saying it in a respectful way. He was extremely patient with her and gave her many chances!
Clients also use this board to protect themselves / avoid unwanted situations like these.

I really sympathise with your unfortunate alleged experience. However I truly think you should name the lady. By not doing so this only sheds doubt and skepticism on Merb community providers while this scammer gets away with it hands free.

At the very least you should report her to the Mods so she could have her status and publicity revoked to at least protect your fellow collegues and honest SPs

You are right on these aspects. It was always cheaper in Montreal than it was Toronto or the West. I also been told GFE is less expected in the west (Kissing, BBBJ) by providers who worked there. And yes i noticed a lot of high end indies have jobs related to the beauty industry in various forms. Sometimes they may have an OF wich bring extra $ too. And yes by charging more they also probably filter a lot of the "bad clients".

That said its still funny at times when i read that some indies have trouble getting booked (even when touring). Now sure they can offer what they want and charge what they want, its the rules, but instead of complaining i think it would be better to have a little introspection? Maybe the service being basic combined with the stiff price is why they don't get as many bookings as they would like. And unless there is a privacy issue at play (some may not want to work close to home), why going that far to work to begin with? Sure traveling can fun i supose at times but i have a feeling a lot of the indies who tour super often do it probably because they wouldn't be able to get enough bookings only in the city they are at the rates they charge. Just my guess of course but it make sense.

With all that said, obviously if a client pull 250 to 350 000$ a year, its much easier for him to have 800-1000$/h bookings and for multiple hours. Its the old joke of an hockey player being charged 5000$ penalty for an infraction, thats like getting charged 5$ for regular folks.
