They were caused by arson. The guy admitted and is being prosecuted. Forest fires have existed for hundreds of years.
WTF??? A single guy didn't start all fires across the country (0.008%). The situation we had is completely abnormal and it's way off normal statistics.
Then again you will find an explanation for this disastrous summer.

Quebec man who blamed wildfires on government pleads guilty to setting 14 fires | CP24.com

99.9% of forest fires are caused by lightening. Nothing to do with climate change. Yes, if climate change isn't dealt with we'll all die in 150,000 years

A red sun with a grey sky during what supposed to be sunny days.
If it doesn’t ring some bells, then ok, …do nothing.

Fact is a large amount of forest fires are caused by human activity such as campfires left unattended, the burning of debris, equipment use and malfunctions, negligently discarded cigarettes, unintentional acts of arson. Far-left lunatics like Trudeau like to play the climate change alarmist agenda so he can justify his adding the carbon tax to make money off Canadians. Poilievre is right to axe the tax.

Overheating does play a part but so does logging /deforestation. Cutting trees down not only releases as much carbon dioxide as burning coal, but it removes tree cover that dries out vegation increasing the risk of forest fires. A carbon tax will not do anything to stop this or to reduce this except make lots of money for the government. Increasing the population because governments and corporations greed is never satisfyed is a big part of the problem. Deforestation for agriculture is to feed an increasing population. I do not think much will change because politicians only care to make money.

Quebec had more precipitation in 2022 than in the last 10 years. I don't know about you guys but I'm 49 and I remember summers being a lot hotter and sunnier than the last several years.

Oh yeah, one day we received 100mm in 2 hours…
The thing is, nowadays it’s all or nothing.

It is very unlikely that Polievre or Trudeau will do much for plastics. All of this is virtue signalling. I am sure you know this. Banning single use plastics or straws is all show to get reelected. I will believe these politicians are serious about plastics the day they ban water being sold in plastic bottles. Biggest waste of plastic is selling water in plastic bottles. Totally ridiculous.

I am sure you also know in the 80s soda pop being sold in glass bottles. In the 1930s cola was sold in tin cans with a metal stopper. All is possible but politicians get lobbyed by big corporations to pass laws that favors them. I do not have faith in any politician to do the right thing.
