I’ve sadly written off Montreal this year, though I do believe it is possible if not probable the border opens to US citizens in 2021. I just think it’s going to be chaotic once US travelers are allowed across, and I’d anticipate Montreal bars and restaurants having many restrictions. No thanks I’ll wait. The loss of June and July is devastating for many businesses counting on US tourists.Border to remain closed until Canadians are 75% fully vaccinated. Arcording to this article August might be a possibility because of the expected delivery of 68 million vaccine doses at the end of July:
No full reopening to U.S. until 75% Canadians vaccinated, say border chief
But government loosens regulations for fully vaccinatedfinancialpost.com
I was thinking the same thing. But then I thought about it and I would imagine that most travelers to Montreal are not only going for the SP's. Events like the formula one racing and maybe the Jazzfest can cause a shortage of SP's. But, for the most part there should be plenty of ass for all of us.it's going to be a shit show when the border reopens. all the SPs and hotels will be FULLY booked. it's going to be so packed makes me want to not come lol
if agencies had stock.. i would buy it.
last time i was in Montreal was a year ago and having not gone out in a year, i saved up a lot to go crazy on my next trip back

I was reading elsewhere that pre arrival testing would be random and you wouldn’t be required to pay for it. Also would be interested to find out what will be acceptable proof of vaccination. Either way this is good news.Starting August 9 for fully vaccinated Americans. Pre arrival testing required.

Yes US requirement is 3-day (not 72 hour). Depending on where you live (and how much you want to spend), rapid NAAT are available. So you could take a test on Tuesday morning, hop on a flight right after and meet up with providers from Tuesday afternoon to Friday afternoon and hop on an early evening flight back to US.I think the U.S. is using a three day test instead of a strict 72-hour test. That can stretch the legal period a little beyond 72 hours.
“Why does the Order specify 3 days rather than 72 hours? What is considered 3 days?
The 3-day period is the 3 days before the flight’s departure. The Order uses a 3-day timeframe instead of 72 hours to provide more flexibility to the traveler. By using a 3-day window, test validity does not depend on the time of the flight or the time of day that the test was administered.
For example, if a passenger’s flight is at 1pm on a Friday, the passenger could board with a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Tuesday or after.
What is an attestation?
An attestation is a statement, writing, entry, or other representation under 18 U.S.C. § 1001 that confirms that the information provided is true.
Does this Order apply to land border crossings?
No, the requirements of this Order only apply to air travel into the US.”
