I had a few conversations with some young ladies about guys their age which was interesting and I wanted to get the opinion of middle-aged guys (my contemporaries).
They claim that 999 out of 1000 guys are expecting to sleep with a date on the first date. When the girl says "I don't know you", the date's response is: "So? What does that have to do with anything?"
I went to college in the late 70s to early 80s. My parents generation was probably the last generation where most were virgins on their wedding night. In my generation, couples did sleep with one another, but when it was apparent it the relationship was developing. I generally made the move or she made the move when it was apparent we both felt the same.
Of course, the free sex movement started in the 1960s during the Vietnam War protest era.
Plus, the young woman say that many of the men are serial daters, sleepers, only interested in multi-conquests. Whereas, in my college days, couples tended to stay together for awhile and hoped to stay together. There were exceptions.
Of course, my sampling is of Montreal. The US may or may not be different. But it seems that the women are interested in long term relationships, whereas the guys are not.
What is your impression? Are young guys as bad as women make them out to be? I know men of all ages are horney, but with an atmosphere as such guys would have no incentive for a relationship, let alone marriage.
