2-4

Hey Josey,

Clemens is 2-4. Didn't that genius Cashman tell Clemens that $28,000,000 is for winning more than losing. Damn...that's one expensive loser. Well, maybe Randy Johnson can be bought back...lol. ;)

Luv ya,

Korbel

Margarito destroy's Williams tomorrow
Tonight should be fight-of-the-year material. Not as positive as you are over William's destruction though. Any live online stream of the fight, Joe? Those $49.95 PPV fees are starting to take a toll.

What about the Gatti fight?

-I always watch the fights at champs, the cover charge is either $5 or $10 and the beer is free(i will buy you one my good man) which is much cheaper than pay per view, i am supposed to be joined by another respected board member.

-Gatti is fighting Alphonso Gomez who is one of the fighters from the contender show and it is supposed to be a gimmme fight for him as there is a scheduled big money fight for the fall for Gatti to take on J.C Chavez jr but a couple of experts from Maxboxing.com are picking Gomez in a huge upset as they say that he is pretty tough, should be interesting as Gatti is always in a entertaining war.

Gomez (who was my favorite boxer in the first season of The Contender) destroyed Arturo Gatti tonight & quickly sent him to retirement. A long-time fan of Arturo Gatti, the Doc was in a dilemma prior to the fight on whom he should be cheering for. He was shocked to see at how easy Gatti was dispatched by Gomez.

Thank you for the great memories, Arturo. All of your great fights with Mickey Ward will remain as part of the Doc's boxing library for a lifetime. Bonne retraite, tu l'as merite!

OK, lads, enough hijacking of the thread and more than enough discussion here of the Marquis of Queensbury. Honestly, though, after the last three nights, I can easily see why Doc wants to avoid talk of baseball. That was quite a hurt the Sox put on the Jays last night and now they'll have to face Beckett in trying to avoid losing 3-4. The team that owned the Sox last year is finding them a good deal tougher this time around.

Matsuzaka

Hello all,

Went to the game last night and had a lot of fun watching the fireworks. Some lost Toronto fans two rows in front of me thought they might actually have a chance. Matsuzaka sure pushed his skills to the limit needing 110 pitches or so to get through the 6th. But the Boston took care of Toronto's hopes right quick in their half of the 6th inning....boom...sorry Doc. It was a great night and a great time. Wish you were there.

From Red Sox Nation,

Yeah, that 6th inning was a tough one. It lasted so long that i even had time to shower twice during the bottom of that inning!

It was so frustrating to watch that i did something i rarely do, which was to go out & blow my money at the stripclubs. Seeing the Jays struggle to .500 is very frustrating!!

Hello Doc,

This is the second time at least I have seen the Blue Jays play the Red Sox. The last time was in the Sky Dome about 10 years ago. Same result. It was an impressive stadium.

It was excruciating watching Matsuzaka pitch last night. All those balls...around 110 pitches...and still he managed to make a game of it. He sure walks on a thin wire. I knew if he made it through the sixth that great Sox bullpen was very likely to stop the Blue Jays cold. Delcarmen came in for two innings and really knocked them down quick. I only remember him throwing one ball, everything seemed to be strikes and very quick outs.

Well, I don't have anything against the Jays, I just want the Sox to win. It's them infernal Yankees we want to see in flames. Wouldn't it be wild if we stole A-rod from them? I don't believe that will happen. I am sure A-rod and his agent are happy to play both ends for their purposes. But they know the biggest money will come by making Steinbrenner crazy and bilking the Yankees of all they can. That's what passes for baseball integrity these days. As Al Capone is reputed to have said...'IT'S JUST BUSINESS".

Good luck,

Korbel

I think its safe to say that next year at this time that btyger, rumples, SK, korbel and others will have the poms poms out for ARod and pumping him up like he was the second coming of Christ himself if this development happens.
The Red Sox have $31 M coming off the payroll next year with the departures of Schilling, Clement, and Lowell. Considering that the Sox also have major bargains in Pedroia, Youkilis, Crisp, Beckett, Matsuzaka, Buchholz, Papelbon, Delcarmen, and Okajima, A-Rod could be easily afforded.

The problem I'd have in the Sox bringing him in is the fact that he's a career loser, he sucks in October, and every team he leaves gets noticeably better after he's gone.

Hello Joe t.

I saw this last night and responded. What's the matter? Afraid of someone doing to the Yankees what they do to everyone else? As far as I am concerned the Yankees can keep their pissy little A-Rod. It's going to be funny seeing Luchino and A-Rod play Steinbrenner like the money whore he is until he pays baby boy the $30,000,000 a year he so obviously wants. The only question is at what amount Steinbrenner's ass may finally pucker tight enough to cut off the cash. I just don't think his genes allow that to happen in the first place. Count on him to cough up far more than A-rod is worth a la Damon and Clemens and so many others. But keep in mind that you Yankee fans are truly the pot calling the kettle black whatever any other team does. So if the impossible happens and Mr. Pissy goes elsewhere, always remember it's the Yankees who called the tune in the first place. Everyone else is just dancing along.

Keep him,

Korbel

Big Pappy (what the hell is wrong with him this year?) hit into a double play.
Wrong?? Wrong??? Papi has a 1.007 OPS. The only guys higher than that are A-Rod, Ordonez, and Carlos Pena. While Papi isn't hitting the ball out of the park as often as last year, he is hitting .320 and is second in the league in doubles. His 31 doubles is 2 more than the 29 he hit all last year. He'd be hitting .360 if not for the overshift.

Oh, by the way, there is something wrong with Papi. He has a torn meniscus in one of his knees. He'll have surgery on that after the season.

This brings to mind a great quote from John Kruk: "I ain't no athlete lady, I'm a ballplayer."

That said, it has been said that there's no single thing harder in all of sports than hitting a baseball. These guys are all fabulous athletes, Kruk notwithstanding, and they don't have to beat each other's brains into blubber to prove it.

Would you care to put a little wager on who will have a better batting average at the end of the season chicken feathers? think about it, i am giving you a .20 lead right off the bat:)
This just in from the Department of Easy Money:
The corpse of Johnny Damon, after yet another 0-4 day, is now hitting .244
Coco Crisp, after another 2-4 day, is up to .268.

Should I book my appointment now?
