The Buffalo Bills last appeared in the 1994 Super Bowl after the 1993 season.
The NFL introduced the salary cap for the 1994 season.

Thank you for the correction. I wasn't sure about the exact time the cap was introduced in the NFL & didn't have the time to do the research. I'll delete the reference.

How's that for efficiency, Beav? By the way, welcome back to the thread. We missed you when your team was 10 games back.

14.5 to be exact but you know how those typical bandwagoner Yankee fans are Rumples. Lol When the goings bad they're no where to be found, but as soon as the shift changes, it's back on that wagon!

Actually, K, it was 14.5 for about 12 hours. The level was about 10 games, spiked to 14.5, settled at 10 until the ASB. Regardless, Beav's back. I figure he should disappear again at about 7.

Hey guys,

I was off the board for a while on all threads which had nothing to do with the Yankees or this thread, and may soon be again, for various personal reasons not having anything to do with success or failure of the Yankees. I was never off the bandwagon and said repeatedly earlier in the thread the race was not over.

By the ways, it looks like I will have tickets to the game at Yankee Stadium Friday night vs. Detroit which kind of fell into my lap. I may end up with one extra ticket, not sure yet. Seats are in upper deck box third base side, but front row.

Thanks for the invite EB but I'm scouting amateur football.

It looks like my extra ticket has now been gobbled up.

We are leaving early and bringing the goodies for a tailgating party at Yankees Stadium. I am also bringing my Darryl Strawberry autographed glove, in hopes of spearing any foul pop flies that come in my direction.

For the love of god, please tell me this is a joke!!! How many middle aged men bring a f'n baseball glove to a game? You're not 9 years old anymore Beav, please, spare yourself any humiliation and leave the glove at home!!

OK, done responding to Eastender talking in circles on the Yankee poll thread.

Chamberlain looked pretty fabulous again last night. Could be just in time for him to take over the closer role, which he may need to do as Torre seems intent on burning out Rivera, who has looked nearly Gagnesque the last two nights. One would hope that Chamberlain won't take his new major league salary as a license to take on a Ruthian diet. The question about Chamberlain is whether he's the next Bobby Jenks or the next El Guapo.

Can`t be worse than tossing the ball around along Sherbrooke street in front of the Omni. :D

Can You Believe It!!!

Hello all,

Gagne struck out the side in the 9th....what the f..k. I know it's only the Devil Rays, but it's a 1-0 game and it was critical with the Rays in the lead. Now we are facing a Rays pitcher who has saved 17-18. At least the Yankers are getting royally roasted...lol.

Update: 10:01 Lowell over the Green Monster for a tie game.

Update: 10:11 Crisp singles to very short right causing the right fielder to run a long way for the ball and Varitek scores easily from second. Lester pitched superbly and the Sox come through from behind with two out in the 9th.

OH BABY!!!

Korbel

PS

And freaking Gagne mowed them down...geeeeeez.

PPS

Yeah, that's right Yankers...two hits and a 12-0 loss against a 9-12 pitcher...WOW!

Wahoo!!! lets uncork the champagne and celebrate!!! Gagne struck out the side against the worst team in baseball.

I can guarantee you that rumples aunt Beatrice would never have allowed that double by Harris.
Hello Joe. t,

Yeah I already admitted that. Sorry you can't find anything clever to say. I guess that's a symptom of getting murdered in a gross shutout by an "also-ran" team. Did you PREDICT THAT...bwahahahahahaha!

Poor Joey,

What's even more surprising was that the Red Sox were an unbelievable 1-41 when trailing after 8 innings. Their comeback sure came at the right time!

By the way....am i reading this right? The Yankees were blown away 12-0 by the Baltimore Orioles?? At Yankee Stadium??? Holy crap!

Hello Doc,

It was at Yankers Stadium??? MON DIEU!!! That sucks almost as much as having a team come back from a 3-0 deficit in games to win the series at YANKERS STADIUM...bwahahahahahahahaha!!!

Kisses Joe. T,

Not really surprising, Doc. ALL teams have lousy records when trailing after 8. The Jays are 1-47, the Yankees 3-46.

I know.....but I & the tv announcers for the Sox game last night were even more surprised about it since the Sox are one of the best teams in baseball.

Although I'm glad that the Sox regained a little of that oh-so-precious cushion last night, I actually did predict the beating by the Orioles last night (although I only discussed it with Dad and a couple of friends here). After all, it isn't every day Phil Rizzuto dies.
