Hey korbie did you watch Clemens put on a awesome display of pitching today, he was named Cheverlot player of the game, pretty impressive dont you think considering that he was only pitching against the second best hitting team in all of baseball, earlier in the thread some pretty smart guy predicted a strong performance by Clemens today.:)
Hello Joe. t,

I like you buddy. Even if you do act like an adolescent car salesman who just discovered palm sex and fell in love with it....lol.

I saw Clemens pitch when he was a true superstar in person at Fenway many times during the 80's and the 90's, including one particular game against the Yankees while I sat in the seats behind third base and could hear his fastball crack like thunder in the catcher's glove. I was there at Fenway when he pitched in the ALCS in 1986. I met Clemens with my 13 year old nephew at the Moose Lodge in Wareham, MA in 1994 where I SHOOK HIS HAND and got his autograph. So when you ask if I watched Clemens pitch and saw him get an award they would have given to someone today anyway...HA...that sounds a bit pitiful considering my experience. I hope you enjoyed your tv set like millions.

Ta ta buddy,

Korbel

PS

What's a "cheverlot"? Is that where you and EB paint yourselves yankers blue, wear pinstripes and exchange warm feelings over a photo of Berra screaming like a madman that Jackie was out?

Do this as soon as possible so I can start enjoying all these things right away since you obviously can't predict much of anything right. Talk about curses. DAMN BOY! Ten unanswered runs right after you post your gloom and doom prediction. Wait a minute. I think there's one more. Yeah. Bwahahahahahaha. I think that's it. No wait...chordle, chordle, chordle, chordle...CHORDLE! I am afraid this will go on every time I think of your "prediction" tonight. I hope YOU enjoyed the game...lol.

Hey rumples and korbie, you guys can come back now from underneath those rocks you crawled from.:p

Does anybody have any info on SK and btyger, have they been banned.

Down to 3 games after tomorrow as Kazmir owns the Red Sox so much so that he would probably beat them throwing with his right arm.:)

Yes my good man he is a fine addition and with Giambi back and Damon just about to get red hot(my prediction) we should be set, boy did D-Mat ever stink out the joint against the worst team in baseball, tired arm perhaps? meanwhile the predicted collapse is well under way and the Yankees should be 2 games back by Monday.

Hello Joe. T,

Are you admitting you were WRONG already. You did not say 3 a couple of days ago. I was very disappointed we did not have another of your Mr. Wizard predictions for the games today. I missed my daily Joe. t laugh fest. Did your humiliation yesterday bring you a moment of humility for once? Good luck with the Angels. With Wang pitching today you won't have him for them. You have the Angels, Tigers and the Red Sox. We have the Devil Rays, White Sox, and then we can stomp on YOU. Try not to fall too far back again.

Bronx cheers,

Korbel

Hello Joe. T,

Well, first you predicted the Sox would only lead by 2 games today, then you said yesterday it would be 3 games. WRONG and WRONG. You also said: "Kazmir owns the Red Sox so much so that he would probably beat them throwing with his right arm". Ohhhhhhhhhhhh so WRONG AGAIN!!!! The Sox won 6-0...oh yeah...there's the shutout you predicted, but you had the wrong team and pitcher. It was Wakefield who was "on fire"..."pitching lights out"...almost "unhittable". And now it is the Yankers who need to win to keep pace. Dear sweet Joey, what will we do with you. Why don't you put your head in that pizza oven at work so someone can make use of that sausage between your ears...lol...just kidding buddy. Korbie wuvs you! :D

Well, the Sox lead is now up to 5 and climbing as they gained a game last night despite facing their least favorable pitching matchup of the week as the Yankees enjoyed their most favorable.

Despite throwing future first-round ballot Hall of Famer Phil Hughes up against rookie Justin Mosely, the hapless Bombers were bombed out of Anaheim while the Sox pounded DRay ace Scott Kazmir back to Queens. Now the Yanks face two Cy Young candidates over the next two nights before heading off to Detroit for a weekend series that could spell the end of their post-season hopes.

I came into this week looking to pick up a couple of games with the Sox going 5-2 on this road trip against the lowly Rays and White Sox, to the Yankees 3-4 against Detroit and Anaheim. Now I'm hoping to see the Sox head to the Bronx ahead an insurmountable 6 1/2. The Yankees also fell to 1 1/2 out in the wild card race, three behind in the lost column as their already grim situation grew just a bit more dire.

(BTW, despite the fact that most of this post is opinion, Eastender will be here shortly to let you all know that these aren't really my opinions at all.)

Hello Rumples,

Shhhhhhhhhh...the great baseball prophet...Mr. Prediction Wizard had a very bad night last night. To sooth his pains he reclined with Mr Jack Daniels and hugged his picture of pinstripe icon Mickey, still with a black mourning band on the frame. Not long afterward he drifted off into sleep while repeating his now standard and worn out keyword phrases like ..."on fire" ...lights out" ..."unhittable" ...and attaching various names to each little silly catch phrase. Well, it's morning now and one night doesn't make a season. But it was one more night where a crystal ball, stained with dried tears, once again failed one certain devoted Yankee fan badly. Good morning Joe. t. How about a cup of reality for your headache.

Hugs,

Korbel

Yesterday's loss was just a pure lousy display of managing by Torre, with the sensational and hottest prospect in all of basebal(Chamberlain) who has been pitching the lights out Torre elects to put in Henn, at least he could have put in Ramirez, thats something i would expect from Francona and not a hall of famer like Torre, its okay i guess because the Angels got thier token victory.

Absolutely true. His first mistake was starting the overmatched Hughes, who clearly is not ready for the big leagues, certainly not a pennant race, though it appears now that the Yanks may be out of the race soon.

Which Ramirez you talkin' bout, Joe? The one with the whopping 5.40 ERA?

OK, this is horrible, but, sadly, I'm going to have to agree with Joe about something. Joba Chamberlain pitched one inning on Sunday, throwing 9 pitches. He was unavailable yesterday as they won't throw him on consecutive days. It's one thing to baby a young pitcher, but this is overdoing it, particularly when a team is hanging on to their post-season hopes by the slightest of threads.

Hello Joe. t,

Nice to hear from you. Is this true? I went to bed last night with the game tied in the 10th. Here's what happended:

"The firsts just keep on coming for Ryan Budde. Three weeks after making his major league debut, Budde doubled in the winning run in the 10th inning and the Los Angeles Angels beat the New York Yankees 7-6 Monday night, improving their major league-leading home record to 41-17. "It feels great, a dream come true. Wow!" a grinning Budde said. "To do it against the Yankees is awesome." Budde hit a 2-0 pitch from Sean Henn (2-1) into right-center to score Howie Kendrick, who had doubled to right with one out."

You would think with the Yankers holding on with their finger nails and time running short in the season that Joba could throw at least another "9 pitches". Would 18 pitches in two nights really have wrecked the young superstar-to-be??? Uh-huh...bad choice. Now there is another young guy named Budde who knows how false Yanker invincibility truly is. Yeah, poor decision by Torre. BUT...maybe the billionaire boys club could have come up with just one more run after all of those games where they bombed the hell out of clubs with needless piling on to impress everyone with their astronomical stats. The Yankers magnificent ratio of runs scored versus opponents didn't work out so well last night...HUH! Happy 40th HR to A-Rod though in a losing effort. I think Budde had more fun...lol.

Boo-hoo,

Korbel

Since when has Joe Torre given a fuck about wearing out a pitcher, it's what he's been known for since he started managing the Yanks. Very poor decision on their part by not putting in Chamberlain.

Nice of Mussina to toss BP to the Angels tonight. It's only the second inning, but I'm going to bed smiling.

It appears that by the AM, the Yanks will be 6 out and just about finished in the division. Also 4 back in the loss column to the Mariners for the Wild Card. In the words of Mr. Berra, it looks like it's getting late early for the $200,000,000 behemoth.
