The Leafs have put Seth Griffith on waivers in order to make room for Josh Levo.

He was just picked up on waivers by the Florida Panthers. I hope this move doesn't come back to haunt the Leafs. I find Josh Levo to be very slow. Griffith i'm told can fly & succeeded at every level prior to joining the NHL.

It's expected that Frankie Corrado will finally make his season debut tonight. Peter Holland and Matt Hunwick are also expected to be in the lineup.

Go Frankie Go!!!

Huge win by the young Maple Leafs last night against the powerful Washington Capitals. Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews were dangerous all night long. Kadri also had a great game. The Viking was also very solid between the pipes.

The Leafs are looking good!!! :thumb:

Rumor has it the Leafs are interested in Dougie Hamilton and Burke has a connection to Holland i believe, but hopefully they do not pay a kings ransom for him, he is still not a proven #1 or #2 and we have enough 3-6's.
Looks like Holland days are numbered with the Leafs.

I heard about that rumour but I think the Flames are more interested in JVR or Nylander. But don't worry the Leafs will not over pay for Hamilton. It's Calgary that seems desperate to make a move.

At this point in his career i would not give more than Holland and a 2nd round pick and maybe a decent prospect but not a top one for DH. He is on the verge of being traded again at 23, and as a supossed big name talent that says something.

I've also been hearing that rumour over the past couple of days. But many of the Leafs insiders say he's not the answer and they wouldn't touch him due to the money he's being paid.

By the way, impressive win by the Leafs in Edmonton last night. Zac Hyman and the Viking both had very good games! :thumb:

Little known fact:

The Maple Leafs are only 1 of 2 NHL teams with three 10-goal scorers in their lineup. The other team: The NY Rangers.

The Calgary Flames are denying Doug Hamilton is being shopped around and it has incensed Brian Burke, who just said that 'an idiot GM' had started the rumour.

What a absolute joy it is to see the top three Leaf's rookies (out of the seven!) all playing so well so far.

Matthews, Nylander and Marner (MNM) are fun to watch and on any given night at least one of them is doing something good for the team and most nights all three are on the scoresheet. All three bring different intangibles to the rink, lets explore:

Marner, easy to see why he is compaed to Patrick Kane. He is a smallish but shifty speedster with geat vision and hockey smarts, excellent skater with geat hands, great shot and quick feet. A star in the making.

Matthews is the big skilled slick skating centre the Leafs have not had to build aound since Sundin left. His hockey IQ is second to none, soft hands, big body aound the net, amazing passer and deadly shot. The real deal and a long successful career should be in his future.

Nylander is a combination of both the above. He is fast, geat hands, smart, great shot and projects to be a centre when all is said and done, something the Leafs will need to make a cup run eventually.

With Matthews and Nylander #1 and #2 centres within a couple years and Marner flanking one of them on the wing, this threesome will be fun to watch for years to come in blue and white.

GO LEAFS GO!

The Leafs have put goalie Jhonas Enroth on waivers. This means that they'll likely sign Kari Ramo to a contract once Enroth has cleared waivers.

Big news:

Jhonas Enroth has cleared waivers.

By the way, the Leafs have signed Kari Ramo to a tryout contract. He'll play a few games with the Marlies to get back into shape and they'll take it from there.

The Leafs have sent down goalie Jhonas Enroth. Antoine Bibeau will act as backup for now. My guess is that Enroth will play most of the games for the Marlies and will be called back the next time Andersen needs a break. However, it's also quite possible that Kari Ramo will get to play in some games with the Marlies and will be signed and called-up if he plays well.
