Ok now ! there is one positive side of what's happening about the 'head injuries' saga.

Next time a Bruins or a Leafs gets knocked down... anyone who complains... will automatically be a f*cktard ! :)

Sarting with Don Cherry.

Since we were talking about hypocrites at some points...lets see what Don despise... :
the two-minute penalty for firing the puck into the crowd from the defensive zone.

Now here is why the NHL installed protective netting in 2002 : http://www.nytimes.com/2002/03/20/sports/hockey-girl-13-dies-after-being-hit-by-puck.html

... if I recall I remember the feeling when suddenly a dumb*ss would throw the puck out because he couldn't take the heat.

The general feeling of all players was : 'What a fre*kin looser !'.

JH Fan, I've been thinking more and more about the possibility of League imposed Suspensions that factor in the severity of the injury caused by the offending player.

Now 1-for-1 wouldnt work. So for example Bertuzzi killed Moore's career so Bertuzzi gets a life ban would NOT work. However I'd dish out a suspension that lasted 1yr+ for the Bertuzzi/Moore incident... maybe even a 2-yr suspension for Bertuzzi.

Examples:
1. Matt Cooke head shot to Marc Savard. Savard out 8mths, Cooke would deserve a 6-8mth suspension.
2. Randy Jones check from behind to Patrice Bergeron. Bergeron out almost 1yr, Jones would deserve a 6-12mth suspension.
etc.

There should be some cause and effect factored into a suspension. Not 100% since not all hits/plays/incidents result in an injury immediately, but that's where a senior league official needs to determine history, incident, etc.

That could be a deterrent to players taking excessive runs at other players. Now, someone give me Colli's job... I can handle it.

Not sure you know cuze in my book it would be more :

For ex: 1. Matt Cooke head shot to Marc Savard. Savard out 8mths...
Cooke gets to choose A-Out for as along as Savard is. B-Continue playing, but giving all his salary to Savard during the 8mths period. C-Any other player who will whack him on the head in revenge is free of any suspension and charges.

I've got no problem with banning someone for a year or 5years or for life if that's what they deserve. They can always go and play in the KHL or in Europe. No one has a 'right' to play in the NHL, it's a privilege that has to be earned through skill and hard work. If someone fucks up bad enough, then they lose that privilege.

Boudreau tells habs fans to stay home

Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau has a message for the group of protestors who are headed to the Bell Centre for Tuesday night's Capitals game against the Canadiens to protest head shots in the NHL.

"You don't like it, don't come to the games," Boudreau told the assembled media at the Capitals' pre-game skate on Tuesday morning.

The protest began on Mar. 9 when Canadiens fans - irate at the lack of a suspension for Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara after he drove forward Max Pacioretty's head into a stanchion - launched a Facebook campaign to gather outside the arena. The online petition had over 1,500 signatures as of Tuesday morning.

Boudreau - who has demonstrated that he has no fear on speaking his mind - also said that if situations were reversed, that the incident would have already been forgotten.

"Listen, I don't want to get into any controversy," he said. "But if that was Hal Gill that hit David Krejci, I don't think there'd be a protest going on here tonight."

Several key NHL sponsors such as Air Canada and VIA Rail have voiced their displeasure with the league following the incident, but Boudreau believes that the players themselves understand the risk that they take by choosing to play a full-contact sport.

"I think the players realize that they could get hurt," said Boudreau. "They don't want to do it, but unless you've played and see what goes on and at the speed of the game, you're not going to be able to argue with it."

Boudreau slams habs fans

Just another uninformed ignorant North American who still doesn't get it !
It's Montreal you dummy. In Montreal we love to protest for any reason possible... hoping it will create a party or a riot.

The same day, we had the annual protest against police brutality which always turns into a circus.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/story/2011/03/16/police-protest-brutality.html

So Boudreau is just another twit who thinks he has no fear to slam Habs fan when in fact he's just showing is ignorence of our culture.

And anyway... when you are arrogant like they were last year and became the league's biggest loser in the playoffs.... I can understand a bit of frustration still lingering a year after :) :) :)

The understatement of the day!

I agree that Montrealers have so much spare time on their hands to waste. No doubt it has to do with the fact half of them are out of work & on welfare (the protesters, i mean).

Your not a very gracious winner Merlot. But.......... since it is the habs, i must say, i like your style, lol..... WOW, the habs as a team tonight were a -30, yes, a MINUS 30! and if we could include the goalies, thats a -37! ..... I knew the 8-1 thrashing of the Minnesota Wild just a cpl games ago was not the real habs team. Oh well, maybe bob jr. will finally wake up after this years 4 game playoff run they are about to go on and realise they need some toughness. ...................................... Ole' ;)

It's a religion Doc Holliday! We love the Habs but when they lose we ask "WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US? Wwwwwwwwwwwwwhy?"

It's as much a Habs fan tradition to jump on n off the Montreal Bandwagon as much as it is to have eternal hope for a playoff berth and even Cup in Toronto everyday.

I think the most rationale fans out there have to be the Chicago Blackhawks. Their owner dis'ed them for decades and they expected a shitty team annually and when the Hawks went deep from time to time it was appreciated but everyone knew it wouldn't last.

Montreal expects a Cup every year, I was personally happy with x1 every decade. Toronto expects it's team will miraculously self-improve without fixing some core issues.

BTW, that's a nasty pic Doc, where'd you dig that up from... who would spend time looking for pix of dicks and past them on hockey players... that's way too much F'ing time on their hands.

Anyone else feel like Tampa is doing a slow unravel?
They don't seem to be able to string together wins at this critical time of the yr. Not sure if players are getting away from Boucher's system which is apparently fairly intense with 4 man pressure constantly. Maybe it's just their "unstable" goaltending situation with 40yo Roloson + Mike Smith. also thought Brewer would be more of a stablizing force in TB than the team's results have shown thus far.

Considering i'm surrounded by quite a few dicks on this board, finding this pic was rather easy. :D

#1 Tampa Bay has no defence.

#2 The players (especially the veterans) have started to tune out to Boucher's dictatorial ways. Once you lose the respect & support of the veterans, you'll eventually lose the younger players. They're easily influenced by their veteran peers & look at them for guidance & leadership.

#3 Good teams have learned to neutralize Stamkos & St-Louis. That's the key to stopping the Bolts. Stop those two & you stop their scoring. I won't even include Lecavalier, who's past his prime & only on the team because his huge contract cannot be shopped around. Of course, there's still hope since the Rangers were able to find a sucker to take on Scott Gomez' huge contract.

#4 A 41-year old starting goalie will only get you so far. I cannot see a team making a serious playoff run with a 41-year old starting goalie as their top backstopper. Age eventually catches up on everybody.

Guy Boucher might also be running out of ways to shake up his team. Inexperience. It's his first year as a coach (in any coaching capacity) in the NHL & until now, he had found success pretty much everywhere he went. He's now also coaching men & after spending a good part of his coaching lifetime coaching mostly boys, he's yet to find a way to make the adjustment when things are not going his way. Many good coaches failing to make the transition from coaching boys to men have since departed the ranks of the NHL coaching alumni. They eventually find out that the GM's who hired them also have to look out for themselves & they're patience will eventually run off if they want to hang on to their own lucrative jobs.

I wouldn't be surprised if Scarface doesn't last the next season.

He didn`t have to look far for the pic. All he did was take a pic of himself in the mirror and paste his own head on to the players! :p
