I am not a tall fellow, sure i need a step stool to reach my top kitchen cabinets and ill never dunk a basketball but i have the numbers where they count the most and i can still get on the rides at the amusement parks.

Look at Albert Einstein(5'7") Very smart man.
And what about Ron Jeremy(5'6") Where it counts:yo:
Hey, Tom Cruise is barely(5'6") but cute as hell. :puke:

I am who i am and im happy with it, sure some pants need a hem or 2 and not all shirts fit me spot on but hey that's what a tailor is for. And as for the double standard you originally started this thread with, well, i have not been effected by it, most of my exes have been taller then me so i cant complain, especially when it came time to slow dance and they wore heels, i am at the perfect height.....:eyebrows:

Thor Jr,

Well said. I think after a while you grow comfortable in your own skin. Although it bothered me when I was a younger man, I have accepted being short as part of who I am. It's frustrating when I am shopping for shoes and clothes but it just makes me shop harder. It's frustrating that I cannot dunk a basketball and can only play the sport effectively in 5'6" and under leagues, where I make a decent power forward and center because guys my own size cannot handle my aggressiveness and savvy. In normal basketball leagues, my shot gets blocked repeatedly and I lack guard skills in part because my hands are small. But playing a big man position in a short man's league, I am a different animal. But those leagues are hard to find unless you are in a big school or city.

All the males in my family are small. My father is and grandfather was the exact same height as me, as is one of my uncles. You have to accept your own genetics because they don't change. While I can feel Cloud500's frustration, I also know there is not a thing he can do about it. So it is a situation that you learn to live with and it really isn't that big a deal despite the whining and bitching we have done in this thread.

I am of Asian descent and so the odds are against me right off the bat. My whole family is around 5"5
I am first generation Canadian in my family. Somehow I'm 5"10 which is pretty decent. However I can still relate to cloud500 as I lived in the U.S. for 5 years. Americans are just straight up bigger people, tall square build, even women. (Not saying everyone just in general). I had a bad experience living there as a high school kid. I mean, look at me. I'm French, Canadian, Chinese who can read better English than American kids in a all-white school. I was considered small. I wanted to join basketball team, I'm a good 3p shot, coach didn't even let me tryout. I had been rejected by girls, no surprise, I even got rejected by the short girls, ok no problem. Living in the States... Messed me up. I learned the long and hard way... Surround yourself by good people. People who don't care about height for example... This will connect you and direct you towards more good people. Also you are only as short as you think you are.

I know I'm average height so I can't really weigh in but I've experienced it.

How about me? I am 6' and I weigh...sob!...over 250 lbs.....sob....I always wanted to be a jockey or a coxswain...sob!and no one would ever let me try. I always wanted to be the running back in HS but I was forced to play offensives and defensive line.

Sometimes size helps and other times it hurts you. What are you gonna do? Too much whining and victimization in all of these threads by Cloud 500. You take advantage of the size you have and make the best of it. Jesus said the man with no shoes should look to the man with no feet. I get up in the morning and I thank God for the life and the health I have. There are things I can control and things I can't. Everyone of us has a cross to bear.

Honestly, I will work my ass off and look for another chance to get to Montreal so I can spend some time out of mind with those two spinners over at Euphoria and Champagne Florence or Bianca.....I want to try a neru massage. Thank God I can steal away a few hours for all of these things.

Hungry you really wanted to be a jockey? Somehow I can't picture you on a horse. Jockeying is a tough gig. You gotta know when to put a whip to or kick the horse. I would have trouble doing that and knowing when to do it. I prefer basketball, but can't really play except in the 5'6" and under leagues. When I travelled to Mexico I met some very tiny Mayan men and had the idea of starting a basketball game but they are more into soccer than hoops. It's too bad because I don't think those guys could crash the boards with me. I was taller and bigger and physically stronger than them by eyeball inspection of things. I could have fulfilled my dream of having a 34 rebound game like Dennis Rodman did for the Pistons (NBA record I believe) but it didn't happen. These are dreams that will never happen for me.

Look behind you.
Speaking of double standards.

Some girl gets a vibrator and it's seen as a bit of naughty fun. But when I ordered my 240 volt Fuckmaster Pro-5000 blowup doll with a 6 speed revolving pussy, elasticated anus with imitation shit dribble and breast nipple discharge, non drip semen collection tray together with the optional built in rape scream I am called a pervert.

I was with you completely until the "shit dribble". Besides you forgot the 10 inch extra wide self-lubricating sticky tongue. How could you. ;)

GEEEEEZ YOU'RE HILARIOUS! :pound:

And this piece that came out yesterday reminded me that while I disagree with Cloud500 on most of his economic arguments, I don't think he is always incorrect regarding what he calls corporatism, and its dangers.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ism-for-their-workers/?utm_term=.dfe6b8398337

Are you up to date on the Sears issue? They are under bankruptcy protection and will slash 2,900 jobs and cut the employees severance pay and the retirement benefits while they are to pay millions dollars of bonuses to their executives. So cut out the poor workers who work so hard for so little and give the wealth to the already wealthy who do so little work and are paid so much.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/sears-canada-retention-bonuses-court-restructuring-1.4222483

Here is another corporation attempting to manipulate people into thinking a minimum wage is not feasible but in reality it is. All those huge bonuses, huge paychecks to the rich can be funneled to the workers and that extra $200 a month to workers earning so little makes a huge difference it is the difference in having enough food and not. If you read the article all they are concerned about are shareholders dividends. They do not care about the struggling workers.

http://www.montrealgazette.com/busi...rules+will+increase+costs/13899526/story.html

And I am sure you are also aware about Bombardier who got billions dollars of taxpayers money, slashed thousands of jobs and want to give a 50% pay hike to their executives.

I can go on and on but this is the reality of corporatism.

Patron that article you posted is pretty much what I been saying for a long time. Capitalism leads to corporatism. Corporations are controlling and running everything. They got so much power that no individual could stop them. Everyone is at their mercy. They take advantage of workers which is in reality exploitation of workers by taking advantage of them. They overwork them and underpay them so they can stuff all the money into their pockets. Their greed is never ending. It is never enough money for them. They want to get every dime out of the pockets of workers and their clients.

This thread was started as a rant/wolf cry about being short in a tall man's world. To recap earlier posts, although I did not agree with Cloud 500 about that when it came to women, I did when it came to clothes and shoe shopping.

Today I had to throw away my best pair of wingtip shoes, which were Florsheims that I had for many years. However, sadly, like many others in jobs that require such footwear, I eventually wore them down. I noticed the sides were cracking. Today was a sad day and I actually felt heartbroken when I tossed those shoes in the garbage pail, because it will be a painful shopping process to replace them. Shoe shopping when you are a man with small feet is a very painful process. Some manufacturers do not make below a size 8 and if you are 7 or 7.5, it's basically tough shit if you like the shoes of such manufacturers. Is it fair? No, but life can be cruel. It simply makes me turn up my shopping energy a notch and find a good shoe from someone else. And I will.

EagerBeaver,

I never had much problem with shoes. I tend to stick with European shoe makers. Having said that the biggest problem I have are with the tops. To make matters worse relative to my legs I got a short and small torso. All shirts are too long on me by two inches and I mean every top is too long by the same two inches. I recently went shopping for a bomber jacket and the fitting is off as they are all two inches too long. If I get a smaller size it is too tight, if I get a larger size it is way too long. Clothes seem to be made for a tall thin man with broad shoulders. Leather jackets I always must have them made to measure. As for suits the selection is slim in 34S and 36S. I also got a beer belly so that six inch drop does not work for me. I need a 34S suit but a size 31in pants. The retail market completely ignores men who are under 5'8" and shopping for clothes is the worst task to do. There are now many stores in the US opening up mainly online stores catering to short men needless to say there is not anything for Canada except Short Mans Browns. Ordering online from American stores can cost a lot of money due to customs and duties plus the conversion rate.

Try having a 36-38 8nch waist and 28 inch legs and long torso. I see tailors a lot.

EB: The secret (not just for shoes but for everything): When you find the perfect item, don't just buy one - buy several and keep the extras as "stock". When an item wears out replace your "stock". You will never worry about an urgent search for a replacement. (The philosophy is even used by many women - and some men - who have a significant other but keep a backup on hand in case the main relationship goes awry.)

I did apply that philosophy with sunglasses, because I am rough with my sunglasses, as I go to beach and pool a lot (I live near the water) and my sunglasses get roughed up. So when I saw a really nice pair, I bought 4 of them. The only problem is I am now on the last of the 4, having roughed up and broke the prior 3, and when that last backup is done, it's back to the old drawing board. And I have gone through the 4 in only around 2 years.

I am extremely rough on my sunglasses and my cars and my shoes. I just had to terminate a 3 year car lease 6 months early, as I put 47,000 miles on the car in 2.5 years (11,000 miles over lease allowance), did $2000 worth of damage to the body of the car, and was riding on the original tires (high performance tires), and on top of all that, I had a cracked windshield. The trips to Montreal did not help. I wear and tear the shit out of my cars. I lease cars, ride them into the ground, end the lease early out of necessity, and then hope to beg the dealer into a semi favorable terms on a new lease. Usually works. I am on my 5th lease since late 2006.

None of this has anything to do with looks or your size (well within reason). I had a friend, goofy, short, dropped out of high school but could talk his way into anything. He once talked a mother and daughter to having sex with him. (I saw him do it) At the same time. He went from being a manager at Woolworths, to being Chief executive Officer at a major US grocery chain, making 5 million a year. No education. Every time when we were young he always got the girl. ( i always got them afterwards but thats another story.
Myself? I'm 6' 180 pounds. Well off. As girls tell me I have the most beautiful blue eyes they have ever seen. But I can't pick up girls. Too shy. They always come to me. As you can expect, that takes a long time. So there's the double standard. Why aren't women on the prowl as much as men, and want to fuck as often as men? In general terms of course.

I recommend reading:

Look behind you.
One simple fact of nature: ALL women are hypergamous...it is a genetic trait that spans as far back as human history.

JTF2

I would not say all women because I personally know a few with wealthy parents and married a middle class worker.
I do not mind people marrying up, I do mind marring up and then divorcing and expecting over half of the persons wealth. If women want equal rights start in the courts at divorce and child custody cases.
