Whomever posted this on the internet added some Golden Rules. They are very good to remember and apply to places such as South America as well. They are as follows:

1) If it seems to good to be true then there's a 99% chance that isn't true...

2) Use the same common sense you would use at home. Don't marry a whore. You wouldn't do it at home, don't do it in Thailand.

3) Never forget that with a Bar Girl, it is a purely financial arrangement and that YOU are the boss. Live where you want to, not where she wants you to. Do what you want to do, not what she wants you to so.

4) Never do as this idiot did and throw all your eggs in one basket.

5) Be aware that not all Thai prostitutes and bloodsuckers work in bars. Some are very cunning indeed.

Just why people come here year in, year out and get into these messes is beyond me especially in this internet age, when cyberspace is rammed full of horror tales and warnings....

That guy was a complete idiot for sure! I think that most of us who travel to just have fun over there in Asia or Latin America and do things the right way (with tips from our fellow mongers), we never regret going on our trips.

I don't think even French Canadian women can come close to the attitudes of foreign women. Sure, the Quebecers can look nice (while they are young), but inside, their attitudes are no better than their Anglo counterparts.

Okay maybe not a lot better but at least slightly better since unlike the anglo and French Canadian women here, they won't try to dominate the relationship right from the start!

I have traveled to Thailand many times and now have non Thai friends over there. I usually stay between 5 or 6 weeks at a time. As hobbyists we are always stunned by the sheer number of incredible babes there are . It's so easy for a single lonely guy to get feelings for these beautiful women. But you have to remember that for them it is just a game they play to scam you, and the people who live there can tell you that. Thailand is an amazing place and not just for the women. They have super beaches in the south,the great city of Chiang Mai in the north, and Bangkok at the center. All these have excellent shopping,some of the best restaurants and hotels in the world.fantastic Muay Thai kick boxing, available babes ,and many cultural sights to visit.This makes it a very attractive place to want to settle down in as witnessed by the huge number of ex-pats l have met who are living there. So if you want to live there and settle down don't be a sucker doing it. That means YOU DO NOT BUY PROPERTY THERE as their law states that only Thais can own Thai land. So the easy smart solution is to rent as a Brit friend of mine living there explained. Another important thing to remember is to leave a good part of your funds in a bank account in your country of origin.That way you can feel completely secure that you won't get scammed or ripped off. I have never been ripped off in Thailand and yet have had great times with lots of SPs there.You must always take simple precautions like anywhere else. When going out always leave your valuables in your room safe or hotel safe. Go out with just the money you need and a photo copy of your passport. Most Thai SPs work to support their poor families and will do anything to make their families better off. We are just a walking bank account to them as with most SPs anywhere. To them we have lots of money that for us is easy to get and they have to work very long hours for low wages. As I have always been on my guard when in Thailand I realized that Thai SPs have tried to scam me a few times.My best advice is to go there and have a great time ,but be cautious ,and if you want to move there try living there for a year first to see if you can adapt to the place and if you really like it. Then take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your finances. Otherwise Thailand is an amazing place to discover and maybe the best place in the world for hobbyists.

As for the first video...I think the women were actually being quite nice to western men. The hard fact is that if you fly to the other side of the world just to have access to affordable pay for play...then you're a bit of a loser. Sadly, the real answer to, "why do so many men go to Thailand", is that they can't afford to do the same thing at home. No great mystery.
