I always liked Trump, but I am not impressed by his handling of the Covid situation...
^^^ Neither am I Stan. It's his bedside manner. I don't want to tune in to see him quarrel with the press everyday at news conferences. It is not comforting to me to have to watch this day in and day out.
But even though the guy is an ass, he has done a good job up to now. He got us out of the ruinous Paris accord where Obama committed to cutting carbon 25% while china, India and Pakistan committed to doing nothing. He got red of NAFTA and he was the first politician I've seen since Eisenhower that stood up to China. He also reversed several nonsensical job killing tree-hugging regulations and if the tree-huggers want to institute a new regulation they've got to get rid of two.

Yes its a some kind of democracy but not true, I get it, we all know US is electoral system but.
unlike the British system for example where majority of the seats won by a party form government.
but in the US you are voting for a person, majority of 'We The People' want a particular person to be president.
in this case means that the people's choice didn't count and lots of votes were just total waste.
Every country in the world with presidential system is MOST votes per person that counts, majority.
Although the US is a de-facto 2 party / 2person race but you can have 10 parties, 10 candidates if you want to ,
(If you can, if you can raise Millions of $$$s that is ).
And again, you can have 5 candidates with more votes then an eventual winner, so minority's choice becomes a president ?
Just a reminder that true democratic countries use run off election system until someone gets 50% +1 vote,

New party should be able to be created and if serious build momentum to grab voters from the other mainstream party. These old party will get more mellow because all of a sudden there is more then one enemy
I think I understand you now. Your suggesting a new third party option that would be able to compete with the republicans and democrats. I’m all for that, I think a real third party option would stir shit up in a good way.

I was simply pointing out that your analogy is wrong. What does it matter how other countries vote, what their system is, or how you think it should be done. It’s done the way it’s been done since the beginning of the USA.

Cloudy. Most deaths are in old folks homes. We already know this is the weak link.
Might as well open and try to control the weak link to prevent further deaths.

Cloudy, according to what I heard, reported by the news.
Quebec has 3 times more seniors living and taken care of in the Quebec system then any other provinces.
Since this pandemic hit hard the seniors residential areas, the numbers keep rising just because of the high numbers
of elderly in the system.
Sorry guys but I don`t take that as a valid excuse. As mentioned before I have close family who are first responders and health care professionals.
What they tell me is unacceptable.
Family members are not allowed to visit patients in elderly homes, but they still do.
Only suspected sick patients are tested. No other patients or staff or trades people authorized to enter are tested.
Staff are not supposed to work in multiple facilities but they do.
These actions wouldn`t be tolerated elsewhere except maybe in Brazil.
When the rules are not followed then tragedy happens.
