I don’t recall the terms of the bet (I’ve had more important things to do) but I know that neither country hit the 75% fully vaccinated number. So I’m guessing we have a draw. Either way, I’m happy to see both our countries continuing to get vaccinated and hope that both countries get to 80% or higher.

Either way, I realized just how miserable it was not being able to travel to Canada. I was using MERB for something I never intended on, news and politics. You were going on about how behind Canada was and Canada's inability to buy or make vaccine. I challenged Canada would catch up and pass the US. What we lack in brawn we make up with Brains. I quoted Trudeau saying was to have 75% of those that wanted a vaccine could get it. You mocked the fact we were at 3% while you were at 33%. I bet you a beer with clarity of what the 75% represented.

The critical state of emergency rooms is not just because of covid. Anybody living here can tell you that even before covid it was not uncommon to wait 8-24hrs in the Emergency room before even seeing a doctor.
I went through this many times with both my mother and mother in law.
This is a direct result of miss management by all the governments for decades not just the current one, same thing goes with all the senior homes covid just exposed how badly they are all mismanaged and underfunded and understaffed.
Another reason I love politicians.

A shocking new report from The Miami Herald has revealed that the state of Florida has been doctoring the way they report COVID deaths to make it appear that the number of deaths is going down.
Rather than reporting deaths as they are reported, the state is simply reporting deaths on the day that they occur.
But because this takes time, the daily numbers appear to be going down but are re-adjusted back up as the deaths are confirmed - when people have already moved on.

^^^^Sene and will rarely agree on anything but I know that we are both pro vaccine. Had Joe Rogan simply been vaccinated it’s quite possible that he would never had caught COVID. But I see Joe Rogans story a little differently. He got COVID and survived it! By the third day he was feeling 100%. The media is all over this because it mentions Florida, COVID and a famous anti vaxxer. But what is really happening is the media doesn’t want to you to remember that the vast majority of people who get COVID survive it. The media needs to get away from making everyone still think it’s a death sentence. People are getting tired of constantly hearing all of the negative press. Yes, Joe Rogan caught COVID. The real story is that his body took care of it in about 72 hours. No pictures of people on ventilators, no mass crowds at a concert or a motorcycle rally, just a guy who’s body beat the disease like many others have done before him. I still say everyone should get vaccinated, but the media needs to stop scaring people into submission. Joe Rogan beating COVID in about three days is a great story, good for him.

QUÉBEC ce jour....750 nouveaux cas....en augmentation constante-----2 nouveaux décès---147 hospitalisations +9----49 aux soins intensifs +7....non pas vraiment dans la bonne direction....alors prudence prudence prudence.
As Canada enters it fourth wave they are set to allow even more people into the country next week. Hope this doesn‘t turn into an even greater uptick in cases closing the border for Americans again. On my recent trip to Montreal the town wasn’t as lively as I’ve been accustomed to in NY. More importantly, the SP scene isn’t what it once was but the massage scene was definitely pretty good.
