You're starting to sound like the habs fans, SK. Ignoring the present and always going back to the past when you have nothing rational to say.....when you can't handle reality. ;)

p.s. Had the Leafs come back from a 3 games to 1 deficit in last season's playoffs against Boston, the Bruins would have been known as the biggest choke artists in the history of the NHL!! Just think about it...the Leafs were down 3-1 and won their next games to make it 3-3....led 4-1 in the final game in the third...THE BRUINS CAME FROM A WHSKER OF BEING THE BIGGEST CHOKE ARTISTS OF ALL TIME!!!

Yes, unable to handle the reality of being in 1st place in the division so far and referencing the past two seasons and what utter shit the Leaf's have been against the Bruins in that time. Now that is hilarious!!! You should just quit while you're way behind Mr. H. LOL.

ROFL,

Leafs motto: should'a...would'a....could'a....DIDN'T!!!

Wow, the just like a Leafs fan stuck in hypocrisy. You give SK crap about living in the past then dive right into into the past lacking even a few seconds memory of what you just said. Unreal. We all see how last year's first round still kills you, but the difference is...while the Bruins "came from a whisker of being the biggest choke artists of all time" the Maple Leafs ACHIEVED IT!!! :thumb:

The other more important difference is...it would have been something new for the Bruins, but for the Leafs it's 100% habitual tradition.

Some day you'll get over it Holliday...when eternity ends.

BTW Doc: I know it's been so long Leafs fans have forgotten, but a Stanley Cup is not something you piss in at the doctor's office...

HERE'S OURS!

What counts is the present, Mr. SK. The Leafs have kicked Bruins butt since the playoffs last year, winning 3 of the last 2 games....and if my memory is correct they only lost by a goal (1-0) in their 2nd-last game, thanks to a strong performance by Mr. Tukaa Rask....who actually sucked in his last game against the mightly Leafs.

If it weren't for Mr. Rask, the Bruins would be a middle-of-the-pack team, just like the habs without Mr. Price. And yes, like the Leafs without the Bernier/Reimer tandem.

Boston has been an average team recently, and i blame this on the loss of defenceman Dennis Seidenberg for the season. He's also Zdeno Chara's regular defence partner and Chara appears lost without his defensive partner.

I'm sure the Bruins will eventually find a way to make up for Seidenberg's loss. I'm surprised they haven't made an offer to the now retired Wade Redden, who actually played very well for them last season in his brief time with the team.

All i'll add is that the Leafs and the Bruins are pretty much even right now.....two average teams who are both made to look better than they really are by very strong goaltending. The Bruins better hope that Rask doesn't get seriously injured during the rest of the season (or at the Olympics) or else they'll be in trouble. That Russian they have as backup goalie cannot carry Mr. Rask's jock strap!

Who is this Russian you speak of Doc? Lol. Chad Johnson, the Canadian boy or are you speaking of the phenom down in Providence named Svedberg who's a Swede?

Rask has been stellar for most of the season but the past 3-4 weeks have been extremely shaky for him and losing Seids is a big problem for the D, luckily they have some young kids playing pretty well in his absence.

How does one win 3 of the last 2 games? ;-)

You may also want to check your statistics amigo, I don't where you're coming up with a 1-0 Boston win in the 2nd-last game.

Nov 9: BOS 3 TOR 1
Dec 8: BOS 5 TOR 2
Jan 14 TOR 4 BOS 3

As far as I can tell that's an 11-7 edge in scoring and a record of 2W for Boston 1W for Toronto. Please explain to me how that's having kicked the Bruins butts since last seasons playoffs. Lol.

This is an internet board where its theme is prostitutes. Their johns come over to praise them (at times its the opposite), praise or bitch about their pimps, and brag about their sex lives (even though in most cases they pay big $$ to have one & have the opportunity to brag).

In other words, on a board such as this one, you can practically make up anything you want and you'll always have some people believing whatever you say.

p.s. In other words, people shouldn't take this board (or themselves) too seriously. ;)

So much for intelligent discussion and debate regarding sports on Merb. Something I probably should have realized many moons ago.

Although it was nice to see the Leafs plummet back to earth tonight.

SK is back!!! The best post you've made in 5 years!!!! Welcome back, buddy!!! Nice to see you among the living again!! :D

Am i the only one that think the Habs need to do something really quick. I mean did they forgot how to put a rubber piece into a net or what? The only goal of yesterday was actually a random deflection on a leg... seriously this is getting ridiculy... Price is doing well most of the time, the defense is ok, but the attack is totally dead. There was more fuss about Dale Weise on the 4th line than anything else... seriously?

I hope he recovers quickly ....

GHG's post reminds me of the extreme inferiority complex which most habs fans suffer from. Since their team sucks as bad as they do, they revert back to posting insulting Leafs remarks. They have nothing else but either revert to the past & talk stupid about how many cups they won, or bash the Leafs. The only word that comes to mind when i see this is 'lame'. Why is this?? Hillarious!!

Remember 1967 ? Most Merb members were not born yet. That was the last time the Leafs won the Holy Cup. Talk about a team that sucks... I have to admit though, that their fans are among the best in the league . At least the most patient ones.
Yes the Habs are not a great team anymore, but i think the future is promising. Anyway, Leafs, Habs , Sens or Canucks, any team bring back our cup in Canada soon !

WD,

A team that sucks is not a team that is worth the most of any team in the entire NHL, which is thee Toronto Maple Leafs. You however are correct about 1 thing, WE are the best and most loyal fans in the league, if not the whole planet.

I also don't get his comment that the habs' "future is promising". Why????? They're nothing but a 'middle-of-the-pack' team right now. Carey Price is in his prime & THE big reason why they're currently in a playoffs position. Subban is also in his prime & who knows if he'll still be with the habs in the future considering he's asking $8-9 million on a long-term contract. And with the Canadian dollar sinking as fast as the Titanic, Subban is becoming more & more expensive for the habs.

Markov will likely be gone by next year, same with Gionta. Galchenyuk is okay, Gallagher may not be able to play in a few years due to all the battering he's currently taking, and Plekanek is likely on ihs last contract with the habs. Bournival is okay, but he'll never be a star. Same thing with all the young players they have on the farm. Tinordi may make the big team one day, but he's still not ready and likely will never be a factor. Beaulieu is okay, but still hasn't shown why he was a first-round pick. There have been trade rumours flying around all season in regards to Max Pacioretty and that's never good. It also looks probably that Therrien may have nothing more than a year left with the habs. They're still a small team with barely any offense and because of this the team's durability is questionable.

So if the future is so promising, i don't get it.
