One thing about Jagr, he is a SHELL of his former self.... was he even playing tonight????

I agree. He's become the Gordie Howe of the NHL. He doesn't know when to quit. Hopefully for his legacy, this is his last season. Boston paid a considerable price to obtain him, which was a panicky decision after they failed to land Jarome Iginla.

Great game going on in Ottawa ... not only are the sens beating the scabs, they are also beating them up, and nice to see Red Light Price back into form.

Peter B starts game 4?

Canadiens shouldnt fall into these kind of Senators provocations and violences. That's their only way to win... Of course referees have their responsabilities, but untill hockey enter in the 21th century and finish its butcher's era, that's the rules.. They deserved to lose..

One thing is sure, the serie changed after the first match agression. When an unaceptable agression can make you win a serie, it means that the rules have to progress...

It seems you love grandpa's hockey... But talent and players' health has to be protected. Violence has to be hardly punish, and shouldnt make you win.

I love to watch box matches and i used to box, so when I want to see violence, I want to see pro of fighting... When I watch a hockey game, I want to see hockey... Moreover these guys are pathetic when they try to fight or use violence, they fight like girls...

The new generation want to see good action and real hockey, Iggy grandaddy...

* Btw, I cant believe next match Gryba will be back...

I watched the game on CBC and not sure what RDS said about Paul M calling that timeout at the end of the game but on CBC they made it clear that he did so beacuse the habs players were still taking cheap shots at the sens right up until that moment so as if to say "you wanna keep the cheap shots coming in a 6-1 game that is basically over, fine then we will try to score another" tit for tat i guess

Paul MacLean just had his press conference and said the same thing. He did it to protect his players because the game had become ridiculous in the last part of the 3rd period. He said he wanted to speak to his players & give them instructions, but the refs refused to let them approach the bench. He said he had no choice and called the timeout. He added he felt sorry for the refs for being put in that position.

Guy Carbonneau just said on L'Antichambre that he couldn't really blame MacLean, since someone like Brandon Prust (and Michel Therrien) insulted him prior to game 2 and tonight some of the habs players took cheap shots (e.g. Ryan White) when the game was practically over. I even saw Brandon Prust taking a run at five-foot tall Conacher!!! What Carbonneau implied was that it was 'payback time' for coach MacLean.

man7's,

Hockey is a violent sport, it is also a sport of skill, has been this way since day one and will be until the end of time, you may as well stop watching if you wanna see non contact NHL cause it will never happen.

Whats funny is if the habs all the sudden this offseason sign big tough guys the fanbase will go crazy because when they signed Prust all i heard was how great that the Canadiens now have a tough guy, too bad he is only a middleweight tho. Successful teams in todays NHL have Big guys as well as smaller skilled guys, guys who can hit, guys who can score, guys who can skate and yes guys who use physicality to their advantage.

Michel Bergeron just said on L'Antichambre that the time-out was bush league stuff. He added that Jacques Demers once did it to him when the Habs faced the Nordiques. That happened over 20 years ago and Bergeron mentionned he only forgave him last week!

The question is not to know if violence is a part of this sport or not. Of course it is. But violence shoudnt make you win over talent.

The situation here is that Senators became the fav the moment they almost kill an opponent... And you answer me, that's hockey ? Cmon...

Iggy, you're absolutely correct in regards to Prust. He's a tough guy with heart & some skill, but like you said, he's nothing but a middleweight and nobody is afraid of him. Tie Domi was also a middleweight, but he fought guys twice his size & yes, a lot of guys (including bigger guys) were afraid of Domi.

The problem with Prust is that he's alone on the team to carry the weight when the going gets tough. A big guy like Travis Moen should actually be the team's heavyweight, but Moen hates to fight & even expressed his disdain for fighting to several insiders, such as former Habs captain Vincent Damphousse. Since Moen signed that big 4-year extension, he's been drifting through the season & refusing to get engaged in a fight unless he's forced to, like tonight when his entire line was fighting.

Francis Bouillion isn't afraid to drop the gloves, but for gosh sakes, the guy is not only getting up there in age, but he's barely 5 feet tall!!!

And then there's Colby Armstrong.....i won't even mention him! The guy is made out of glass!

Anyways, the game was ugly, and the habs are a mess, i couldnt be happier.

Same here!! And if Ottawa wins in 5 (as i predicted), you might see me head off to Montreal to spend some of my winnings! :D

p.s. Will the crazy habs fans once again riot in downtown Montreal if the Sens eliminate the habs?

Lol it seems you are both happier when habs lose than when Leafs win...

Now that your team is in playoffs you can stop watching it just to see habs lose, guys. Pride should be stronger than jealousy...

Nobody hates the Leafs in Montreal.. We hate Bruins, and seriously we dont care about TO, almost happy to see another canadian team in playoffs...

Sadly they are a little backwards Doc, they only riot when they win so likely downtown store fronts will be safe this time around lol. I hear habs fans tonight will be dreaming of what once was, HALAK! I think Techman was right, then again he is a smart hockey guy.

Will the crazy habs fans once again riot in downtown Montreal if the Sens eliminate the habs? [/I]

I wish you guys could be as patriotic as we are in Montreal.

When an english-canadian team face an american team, we are all with the canadian team.

We dont hate any canadian team just cause they speak another language... Wish you can be so open-minded in Ontario...
