I also don't know where Stamkos will end up, but he might sign with the Leafs because home town and endorsement deals . The challenge to bring a winner to Toronto is very tempting. Hockey matters more here than there. I would like to see him in a Leafs uniform. To be continued...

There are several factors in why he'd wish to sign with the Leafs. He's from the area and grew up idolizing the Leafs. It's also the #1 hockey market in the world. The organization is finally stable and heading on the right path. He'd have more endorsement opportunities playing for the Leafs and would be a huge local/national celebrity if he played for the Leafs. And best of all, he'd be coached by the best coach on the planet, one he respects....Mike Babcock.

He can't stand John Cooper. He wants to play center. He misses his family and friends he grew up with. And....that's one of the reasons he didnt sign a long-term contract: in order to chose his destiny once he'd become UFA.

Look behind you.
The GEO have 5 wins in a row and 2 points out of a playoff spot since the division they are in sucks. Perhaps good fortune will happen this year. Woooo Woooo ..

The Schedule is messed up, with all the computer tech in the world, why do we have the Leafs (who are playing great hockey lately) have a week off in between games and NOT playing on a Satuday Night???? Unreal

It was good, a few old faces showed up, entertaining for Oiler fans.

The GEO are on a roll indeed! With all their #1' and #2 picks the last decade, they should be winning more and more but i am not sold on them yet. That defense is pretty shotty still. Trade Eberle and Yakopov for some D help and you are on your way STN.

No need to be polite, the defense is shitty not shotty, I am still an Eberle fan and would rather see Hopkins go. Travis Hamonic says he is looking for a trade and is willing to go to Edmonton but the Islanders want a blueliner in return and no first rounder plus Nurse would be a good deal. Kind of disappointed that Talbot did not play to expectations ( could be a slump ) but Nilsson is doing well now. As I said, the Oilers are in a weak division and on paper they should be the bottom team to be able to make the grade....... Well, maybe not.

I just got home from California, and saw the Rangers are 2-6 in the last 9

Great night for Glen Sather http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=792253

Funny that he sat next to Louie DeBrusk ( who was traded from the Rangers to Edmonton in the Mark Messier deal )

Bad night for Alain Vigneault in his 1,000th game...

Looks like the Oiler fans saw a great game ( which included a hat trick by ex-Ranger Lauri Korpikoski )

Sol- you got a good guy in Cam Talbot..give him some time ( and a defense too :help: )

Best Regards

The GEO won in Boston tonight....... 6 in a row :cheer2: . As for Talbot, I agree that he will be a good addition to the team and yes we are waiting for some defense, looks like Hamonic will not be traded.

When's the last time the Oilers had such a winning streak going?

The problem with such a streak is that management might not want to make the necessary changes anymore. But on the other side of the coin, it may be easier to find a trading partner(s) since they're not in as much of a vulnerable trading position anymore.

Yak, RNH and Eberle........ trade them for a huge upgrade on Defense and a secondary but good d-man and promote from within from the minors with past (and future) draft picks and the GEO are a playoff team for the next several seasons, but Peter C and that owner of theirs will likely mess it up. If the GEO do not make the playoffs this season, they should (lol) next year. I like the Oilers because of their past (Gretzky) but not so much this bunch because of all the #1 and #2 picks, more how they got them by tanking on purpose year after year. One year when you are not good, i get it but 5 years in a row? or is it 6 now?

Oilers @ MSG tonight

They have won 6 in a row..first time in 15 years ???

Good luck tonight Sol..

Go Rangers !!

Rangers side note..

Every year lately, we seem to pick a reclamation project that fails in the end

One year- Derek Boogaard ( ended up dead )
One year - Ryan Malone ( DUI and Coke arrest )
http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/25027495/rangers-put-ryan-malone-on-unconditional-waivers

This year's failure- Jarret Stoll ( Blow and Molly )
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...-stoll-had-cocaine-ecstasy-in-vegas/26085365/

Time to end the experiment Glen...

I was watching the Oilers//Bruins highlights last night and it struck me that the Leafs and Oilers should get together to talk about a trade. The Leafs have plenty of available veterans on their team and some of them just happen to play defence. The Oilers would also benefit of a few of the Leafs' veteran forwards. And since they've done business with the Bruins in the past when Peter Chiarelli was their GM, it think they would be a good fit for a trade. The Leafs' veterans are all available and they're looking for picks and young players, which the Oilers have.

Well see what happens....
