There is this old geezer that told me all about the old days when SWs would not insist that you wear a condom. He told me about times when you could go down St. Catherine street and pick up a SW for some raincoatless fun.
Evidently the cops did not bother the SWs as much as the SPs because the SGT. detectives in the morality squad considered it their exclusive domain and the beat cop could not stop SWs unless there was a sweep of the MAIN.
I was told that there were all types of SWs from girls that had regualr jobs to welfare moms trying to make a few bucks as well as the show up everyday SWs. I guess now a days the part timers have to be younger and work at the massage parlours. I also understand that there were all sorts of pick up bars where you could pick up SWs. There were also 40 or 50 "tourist room hotels" that catered to the SW trade.

When I was young (30 years ago) I used to pick-up girls downtown when I did not get lucky in the night club. They where all sort of service and yes a lot of them would provide condom-less services (remenber that was the pre-aids era). Pick-up bars were plentiful.Either the hotel bar or one in close proximity.
The Kon Tiki on Peel,perhaps the best known, actually had a section where you had service providers for gay hobbyists. The situation in Quebec City was the same with Le Vieux Hermoine on Cartier being the best known.

An interesting aspect was that there were providers who had regular jobs in Montreal or Quebec and would go out of town to work the hotel bars on Friday and Saturday night.

Scary story

I`ve told this scary story to a few friends before.

Many years ago when I first started coming to Montreal, I booked a young lady from a very reputable agency. She showed up, and after a few minutes it was obvious that we clicked. We went through the normal warm-up/foreplay and she seemed to be enjoying it.

...the late 70s was a time where people that had COKE could get all sorts of free pussy. Thank you for the nostalgic PMs. One issue that was raised was that of the legal drinking age which was 21 into the early 1970's.Do not remember the exact date that it was lowered to 18.

It wasn't 21; it was 20. I remember it well. I started drinking beer in Montreal taverns when I was about 17 (and looked about 14). But, six weeks before my 20th birthday (in the 1960s), I was with a few McGill buddies in a tavern, and I was asked for proof of age. I got refused, so we all went to another tavern in the next block, where they didn't check me.
