Sometimes it's hard to tell even for me if someone is wearing makeup because some people are so great at pulling off a very very natural look.
A lot of people assume I wear a TON of makeup because I like bright colors, but I don't do contouring and I don't even wear foundation, just a tinted lotion. I've done modeling and assisted photographers in the past and have friends who do drag, the type of makeup that really does change people's faces takes hours to apply and has so many layers..
I know my wife was totally gorgeous without any make up, but she would never go out side the home without any.
The point being if it made her feel better about how she looked then it is great and I am all for it.
Same goes for SP I have never seen my ATF without any make up, but I am sure it wouldn’t make any difference to me.

I started in the industry (in porn) when I turned 18. I was young and skinny with big boobs, but I stopped getting callbacks after I put on ten pounds... which is still quite a bit lighter than I am now. I also remember that he (who was part of my friend group) wouldn't hire friends who were drop dead gorgeous and curvy.
Then I had a friend who was working in another part of the industry explain to me that she couldn't be a BBW because she wasn't big enough, but also couldn't advertise as "normal".
When I started considering escorting, I found Indy and clicked through to everyone's websites and was amazed at the vast array of different shapes and sizes of people and realized that there was a market for someone like me. I really thought it was a young and skinny woman's game. I'm really happy that there seems to be a place for everyone.
The studies are pretty consistent, and reliable as far as that goes, but they don't really matter, and they aren't an indictment of what you like. There are guys who don't like bolt-ons, don't like tattoos or piercings, don't like certain hair colours or body types or whatever. This in no way invalidates what you like, and what you do to make yourself happy. It's true that most guys don't like much makeup. They can usually also tell if someone is wearing makeup at all. Guys are also deeply ingrained not to say anything negative about someone's makeup to them., anymore than they would usually comment directly on their weight or age. I've been around way way too many guys who hobby and in general for that even to be in question. Having said that , there are still plenty of guys who don't mind it at all and the guys you need to worry about are the ones who are going to like you for what you do and who you are, just like the other girls who indulge themselves in whatever other esthetic makes them happy. Just do you and your own thing and to Hell with anybody who doesn't like it.I don't think studies are reliable. I've met a lot of men who loved women wearing makeup, and I've met men who believed women weren't wearing makeup when they actually wore.. Or they believed that a woman was wearing little makeup, when it fact she was wearing tons of it. I've definitely said good bye to heels this year unless I'm doing an incall and keeping them on for 5 minutes.. becoming a tattoo artist means getting rid of nails, too. Maybe the next step is toning it down with the makeup
My question for SP's : I know we all started at different points in our lives and have been in the industry for a different amount of time. What were your preconceived notions about this profession before you started, and what has changed now?
Forgive me for dragging this semi-old post back to life but I'm just catching up on this thread (there's so much good stuff in here lol).
I'm not actually sure if this question is trolling or not tbh. But just came here to say that there's like a huge variety of moistness of vaginas. Person to person, but then also time of month, age, stress level, etc.
IDK about that. Most of the time I see women (including me) say we do our makeup for ourselves, not for guys. I do what I think looks good, and what makes me feel pretty!
This is what I think most women do and what they should be doing, what ever makes them feel better about themselves is what counts, if somebody doesn’t like it tough shit they can see someone else.
I think well applied make up can enhance a woman’s looks, but that doesn’t mean she is not attractive without it.
It is like clothes, some women can wear almost anything and look stunning others can buy the most expensive designer stuff and still look very ordinary.
Unfortunately like for all of us looking great is a combination of taking good care of yourself and also being blessed with being born with good looks.
One is not good without the other, one you can help the other is pure luck and genes.
Same here.. and honestly I'm not doing it to compete with other women.
I think it's really odd that so many men think women hate each other and are competing for their attention.. If anything I'm doing it more for women than men because women tend to appreciate makeup
This is good life advice that I've mostly lived by, however, us independents are each running a small business that feeds and houses us, so sometimes you have to make concessions to pay the rent.
There's some context spread over a few threads, and one of my threads got deleted for reasons unknown but long story short it comes down to: If you want more clients do what they're asking for (little or no makeup) or target your clients to reflect your preferences (less clients but better fit, and presumably experience). If you're shooting for the latter then do whatever you want and decide for yourself hpw big your boutique niche will be. You can also separate your personal esthetics from your business esthetics. In corporate speak they'd say adapted workplace behaviour. That's what they'd always tell me anyway. They'd also say that sometimes I didn't adapt enough. lol. I can't modify my behaviour enough to deal positively with the nitwits. I'd make a terrible SP.

I agree! But I also think it's true that we can't please everyone...
That's why I'm wondering sometimes if asking questions to clients here is that great of an idea. I try to make conversation, but the vast majority of clients who participate actively in this forum are not my clientele, no matter how appealing I try to be to them.. I usually get booked by people who don't participate in the forum or only ever made a few posts..
I also agree that it's so hard to find a balance between reflecting who we are to attract the right clients for us, and wanting to please the most clients possible..... but I'm also realizing that there isn't a typical client, or that clients fall into different categories.. What I've noticed tho is that certain opinions here are more popular than others, yet they don't necessarily reflect what everyone else thinks. and the clients who have different opinions probably don't always feel comfortable to express them.
Has anyone ever brought to you an inexperienced person to be initiated. I have been told by 2 SPs that they have had several; brothers, cousins, friends bring someone to gain some experience.
