Not yet. Our Covid hospitalizations have quadrupled in the last month but our Governor (Lamont) has issued statements indicating he will be resistant to lockdowns. We will need to see what happens. The restaurant industry in CT was hammered by Covid but from what I observed many restaurants, especially the ones that survived, adapted. I think things would need to get a lot worse for there to be a lockdown here, but that could happen.
I think the American mentality is much more resistant to lockdowns, however, in the past 2 years businesses including my own have greatly adapted to doing business remotely and virtually. Apart from that many citizens seem to tie lockdowns to unlawful or improper restraints on personal liberty. American history teaches that we are very, very resistant to that going back to the Revolutionary War. The State Motto of New Hampshire is "live free or die" and somehow Covid and lockdowns and masks have stirred these emotions in many Americans, although it's a health epidemic, and not political reasons or a political enemy, that are threatening these liberties.
