Oh wait, there was a group that got the vaccines in the early days when only senior citizens were getting them. Members of government. There was never anything more deliciously ironic than watching bartender AOC, who has been arguing for Equality forever, lining up to get her shot before everyone else under the Continuity of Government Act.
Most of her constituents were the first ones to fill up the freezer trucks after the morgues ran out of room. Hard working people with minimal medical benefits that had to commute to work everyday during the pandemic because they couldn't work from home or collect unemployment. And yet they still re elected her to a second term.

The assumption that hybrid immunity — vaccines combined with infections — would end COVID’s relentless evolution has fed the pandemic, not starved it.

If getting infected, vaxxed, or vaxxed-plus-infected actually made us safe as COVID circulates, Canada wouldn’t be recording its highest death rate of nearly 20,000 this year.

Yes, COVID has vanquished more Canadians this year than in 2020 or 2021. And the virus has sent more Canadians to the hospital this year than in previous ones, too.

Only a few months ago, the Liberals and the “experts” were saying travel restrictions and ArriveCan were necessary to prevent the spread of the virus. Now they are saying restrictions are not effective and absurd! FOLLOW THE SCIENCE! (I should say follow Political Science). It was always about control.

For weeks, scientists have been watching a slew of Omicron descendants duke it out for dominance of Covid-19 transmission in the United States, with the BQs – BQ.1 and BQ.1.1 – seeming to edge out all the others to claim a slight lead.

The result has been a gradual rise in cases and hospitalizations that never seemed to reach the peaks of this summer’s BA.5 wave and was certainly nothing like the tsunami of illness caused by the original Omicron strain a year ago.

But on Friday, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Covid-19 variant dashboard revealed a new dark horse that could soon sweep the field: XBB.1.5.

The CDC estimates that XBB.1.5 has more than doubled its share of the Covid-19 pie each week for the last four, rising from about 4% to 41% of new infections over the month of December. In the Northeast, the CDC estimates, XBB.1.5 is causing 75% of new cases.

Not at all surprising. It seems that any time a well-known person dies or even has a medical emergency of some sort, the rightwing wackos can't wait to start their BS about a vaccine being the cause. Also not at all surprising that MTG was mentioned.

Let’s not forget the outrage when the previous administration did something similar and now it’s acceptable.

Now economists are realizing the impact of C19 on the US labor market: 2.6 million off payrolls

Back in the 1400s, the Black Death wreaked devastation on the population of Europe, but the drop in the workforce allowed the survivors to demand higher wages:
