For the first time in a few weeks I`m starting to feel optimistic. Western governments have rubbed the sand out of their eyes and are taking important and even painful steps to protect the public. The worst is still to come but not in months but more like weeks.
Economically markets will still drop but the fact that gold is turning around and is not being sold as a commodity but is being bought as a safe haven is encouraging.

Read back Fox news since February up to 2-3 days ago. They downright mislead the population and politicize the whole thing. I had never really look at that channel much since a January trip to the US. I would give more credit accountability to Al Jazeera then Fox...

A few weeks ago, when the first few cases started appearing in the US, Trump actually said it would all “miraculously go away”! What?!? You can’t make this stuff up!
Even until the weekend, Trump said everything was “under control”. Unreal! Alternate reality!

Actor Idris Elba tests positive for coronavirus

British actor Idris Elba just announced that he just tested positive for coronavirus and has already begun his quarantine. He confirms he has zero symptoms right now but chose to get tested when he found out someone he had recently come into contact with had also tested positive.

Had he been in the United States he would not have been allowed or been able to get tested & likely would have uknowingly continued to spread the infection.

As for some goods news actors Tom Hanks & wife Rita Wilson have both been discharged from the hospital in Australia.

Interesting fact. The Italian death toll is running at over 7% of infections.
That means one or more of several possibilities.
China under-reported their deaths.
The virus has mutated to a more deadly form in Europe.
There are far more infections in Italy than have been detected so far.
None of this is good.

The only silver lining is that mother nature is benefiting . Pollution is down as is the emission of fossil fuels. Exotic animals are getting a small break from being on the menu in Central China.

That's quite true. No country or person wants a pandemic named after them. Personally i think this is a big mistake from Trump since the United States will need to rely on China's help in order to fight this pandemic. For example the #1 company for the masks (3M) is a chinese company. And China has already begun a lot of research into the coronavirus.

By the way how do you guys feel about Trump trying to bribe a German lab doing research into the coronavirus into relocating to the United States and then keeping the vaccine for themselves (and fuck the world!)?

Honestly I don't understand why the agencies are still offering services... The health and security of their workers are not important? For sure I will wait a britter day before hobbying again.

Well...for one no one is forcing the girls to work. If no girls would work then the agencies would have no choice but to close down. The problem is that if an agency decides to close down the girls who still want to work will go work elsewhere or go underground. So not much would change.

Or course an agency deciding to put things on hold is a good thing & doing a responsible thing. But everyone has to buy in. Ten agencies postponing business won't really matter if fifty other agencies continue operating. And if a girl wants to keep on working and there are no more agencies open she'll work as an independent unless she has nowhere to advertise. So then it'll be off to the street.

I'm surprised that I'm going to say this, but I do agree with you on this one. There is no doubt that Fox News aligns itself with the Republican party, no different than how CNN aligns itself with the democratic party. The President, a Republican, whether you approve of him or not, has to exude a sense of calm over the nation. If he panics or comes across as not in control the nation will mirror that and all hell will break loose. On the other hand, CNN, was on the other side of this exuding a sense of urgency or panic. Me personally, I watch both CNN and Fox and try to come up with what the actual news is on my own. As much as Fox downplaying the seriousness of the coronavirus, CNN certainly went the other way and I'm glad they did.

By the end of this year 90% of Americans will have been infected by COVID-19. I see no other way around this considering the United States is already a month or two late in dealing with this pandemic. They should have been ready for this two months ago! Now there's likely 100 000 infected & 90% of them don't even know it!! Meanwhile, minute by minute the virus keeps on spreading and most people spreading it don't even know they're spreading it! Meanwhile half the country isn't doing anything to prevent it from spreading while the other half is working like crazy to slow it down! Listen.....if you can't get everyone on board then it's a nearly hopeless effort & nearly everyone will end up getting infected while hundreds of thousands, if not millions, will end up dying from the coronavirus!

Sorry folks, but the American Government took its eye off the ball for too long and now a lot of the damage from this is unreversible!

i have little faith that trump will be able to effectively lead the usa during this crisis. first, he has no credibility due to his constant (16,000) lies. the country needs a leader it can believe and over 60% dont believe him. second, he does not believe in science- he has a history of bashing science and has decimated the science advisory boards. he now must rely on scientists to get us out of this mess and he clearly is uncomfortable deferring to scientists (of course, if you are a stable genius, why defer to anyone.) finally, this is just not in his wheel house. he is a demagogue who rallies his base by blaming various people and groups for their problems. his insults and hateful language will not wear well during a crisis.

You're not that too far off the mark but it's not in Nunavuk. Log cabin on a small island and lots of fishing these days. Generator gives me electricity. I travel to a small town once or twice a week for provisions and then back on the island until things have calmed down. I'm planning to stay here until August or maybe longer. Alright...off for some more fishing!
