take appropriate action to protect your interests.

What you should be doing to protect your own interests is staying inside, and if need be hire some snotnosed kid in your neighborhood to do your shopping and pay him around $10, or else have Uber do it. Have them bring you around 200 packages of Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup. If need be you can get by on 1 of those a day (400 calories of processed carbs per package), occasionally supplemented with the odd takeout sandwich from Snowdon's Deli. Don't go outside, don't see escorts. If you kick into survival mode you will survive, if you stay in panic mode, I don't know if you will. I am trying to get your mind focused here on what you need to do. Don't worry about the markets, because there is not a thing you can do to control what happens. All you can do is control what happens with you.

Nice initiative!!

Its up to people who are still working to decide what’s safer for them.

Well said
But as of right now I’m wondering what’s going through the minds of all our health care workers in our country , surely they must be concerned with what’s coming . For the past 2 weeks all they’ve been hearing is horror stories of what their colleagues are facing in Italy
It takes a lot of courage to face a crisis like that head on , they are up against it

There is no need both, IGA and METRO supermarkets deliver to your home and you can shop on line.
$4 preparation and $3 delivery fee plus give the delivery guy $5 tip and they will put it on your doorstep.
Just ordered a bunch of stuff they must be a little swamped as it will only be delivered by Wednesday, but it is not as if I am going anywhere so I can wait.

Other stuff you can get through Amazon.

Cannot read that article as they ask me for 3$ a month. As new york time, globe and mail, liberation, washington post and many many other online journal... I am doomed to now rely on fake bullshit free online journal I guess...

No, no ...

... you must be doing something wrong, all coronavirus-related coverage at NYT & Globe & Mail is free.

The Guardian, recommended, is always free:

Friday night walking past the bars in NY, I was amazed how packed they were with 20/30year olds. Then in the newspaper today there were pictures of crowded beaches in FLA with the college springbreakers. I guess there is still a sense of invincibility about them and a I don't care if someone else gets infected attitude. Even now with all the closures of bars and restaurants (and maybe FLA beaches), how will the younger crowd take to not being able to go out and party for eight weeks?

Interesting seeing Miley Cyrus, Hillary Duff, and Taylor Swift lecture the younger crowd about personal responsibility on their twitter feeds.

Kentucky Derby to be postponed until September amid COVID-19 concerns
https://www.wlky.com/amp/article/ke...til-september-amid-covid-19-concerns/31680899
LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The 146th running of The Kentucky Derby will be postponed until the first Saturday in September, according to multiple sources.

Kentucky Derby, which was originally scheduled for May. 2, will be moved to Saturday, Sept. 5 in response to COVID-19, sources say.

The official announcement regarding the 146th Kentucky Derby will be made Tuesday at 9 a.m. via teleconference.

The postponement marks the first time the Derby will not be held on the first Saturday in May since 1945. It was postponed in June 1945 when the government issued a ban on horse racing due to World War II......

There’s nothing (Sports) left to Watch.

Happy St Patrick’s Day....We have light Snow, turning to Rain later here in Massachusetts.

Chris Martin Performs Coldplay Songs, Covers David Bowie on Instagram Live
John Legend will follow the Coldplay frontman in Together, At Home: WHO-Global Citizen Solidarity Sessions
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/...rtin-together-at-home-coronavirus-968119/amp/
Chris Martin performed Coldplay tracks, covered David Bowie and answered fans’ questions on Instagram Live on Monday. The broadcast is the first installment of Together, at Home, in which artists perform virtually on the platform in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.

“Maybe 9/11 was the last time I felt like we were all together,” Martin said of the pandemic, sitting at a piano and intently reading users’ comments. He took requests from fans, including Coldplay’s 2000 hit “Yellow” and a cover of David Bowie’s “Life on Mars,” stopping at the chorus because it was too early for his voice to reach that octave.
“I feel like I’m on Celebrity Big Brother,” he added, laughing that his every move was visible to nearly 50 thousand people. “I was never asked to go on one of those things.”

Together, at Home is a collaboration between the World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Citizen. They launched a campaign called the Solidarity Response Fund, aiming to raise $675 million throughout the month of April towards COVID-19 relief.....
