I agree also with Sweetspot. Mask would also help, like a cone on a dog, not to touch your face directly. But do wash your hand before putting it on and clean mask right after usage.

They probably ask us not to wear mask because of shortage as Sweespot said but also not to give us a sense of invulnerability. They want us home.

I would add that the main reason for wearing the mask is to not spread the virus to someone else if you have it.
...
Correct. Since so many who have the virus don't show symptoms, in many cases we don't know if people have it or not, including ourself. So the motto should be:
"I wear a mask to protect you. You wear a mask to protect me"

MASKS.

Of course, masks work, this was clear from the very beginning. This is why healthcare personnel wear it. They are not sick; they don’t want to get sick. Another myth is that only KN-95 masks that can catch very small particulates work because the virus size is around 0.1 microns. Guess what? The virus particle alone does not survive for long in air and it is not emitted one by one from an infected person. It is emitted as micro droplets in the size range of several to tens of microns that contain thousands if not millions viruses. It also sticks to particulates in air that are in the micron size range. Thus, any multilayered mask, like surgical or similar, though not 100% protective, will reduce concentration of viruses you inhale. You probably would not get infected if you have a couple of these micromachines (can’t call them creatures). They need to be at a certain threshold concentration to infect. Masks help, period. If you can’t get KN-95, get surgical or examination masks.

Great vid , people need to get inventive sometimes

I reckon that these self made masks even if they don’t fit perfectly are still better than not wearing anything... especially for those that need to use public transportation , I think it’s a must

no its because they are not testing enough. USA got very late start (for many reasons i prefer not to elaborate again) but let’s just say if they had capacity testing of germany or south korea a month ago you would see a mortality % below 1% like germany.

If the rest of the USA tested as much as New York the mortality rate would be much lower. Still, that 2% number is not fucking good.
