Of course, masks work, this was clear from the very beginning. This is why healthcare personnel wear it. They are not sick; they don’t want to get sick. Another myth is that only KN-95 masks that can catch very small particulates work because the virus size is around 0.1 microns. Guess what? The virus particle alone does not survive for long in air and it is not emitted one by one from an infected person. It is emitted as micro droplets in the size range of several to tens of microns that contain thousands if not millions viruses. It also sticks to particulates in air that are in the micron size range. Thus, any multilayered mask, like surgical or similar, though not 100% protective, will reduce concentration of viruses you inhale. You probably would not get infected if you have a couple of these micromachines (can’t call them creatures). They need to be at a certain threshold concentration to infect. Masks help, period. If you can’t get KN-95, get surgical or examination masks.
