HM, this is not the case in NY or anywhere else in the USA. It was a fake news article found on CNN which suggested that hospitals would have to reconsider their DNR (do not resuscitate) protocols due to potential overcrowding. It was put out there to take advantage of the ventilator shortage. Shortage of ventilators, people need them to breath, hospital decides your not worthy or makes you sign a DNR, and let's put out a bullshit story to scare people to advance the fear of the shortage of ventilators. Yes, there is technically a ventilator shortage. It's a shortage because we are stockpiling the ones we have to be ready for the greater need in the future. So technically, right now, today, there is no need for the extra ventilators. We are looking everywhere to purchase them and are building them here so that hopefully we don't ever run out.
CNN decided to scare the shit out of us for no reason. This could happen, but let's hope it never gets to that point.
It's a whole lot easier to get cash in the collection basket than have a parishioner at home type in a credit card number that will get declined for being maxed out.
The light at the end of the tunnel is when we see the number of cases start to go down, we are not at the peak yet.

I need to back down on some comments i made earlier. The more i know about this and public health i think we will no reopen our school until a vaccine is ready. That means no school next year as well.
Rapid testing and relief medicine will help ease of the restrictions but no school, no concert, sports crowd, parade, dance club, etc etc for all remaining of 2020 and well into 2021.

I heard some encouraging news this morning. US pharmaceutical companies using artificial intelligence have developed a vaccine for Covid-19. It needs to be tested on humans. With greasing of wheels by FDA we are looking at 3-6 months before the vaccine is on the market. We just need to hang on until then.

By June Europe and North America will be recovering and Africa and parts of Asia and S.A. will be devastated. Brazil in particular will be hard hit, not even sparing the indigenous population in the Amazon.
