Maxime Bernier is the least credible politician in Quebec. He needs votes so badly that he went to the demonstration.
Now he is considered a conspirator.

In Drummondville, a woman who changed her mind at the hospital.
used to be vaccinated died from COVID-19 on Saturday. On her deathbed, she wanted to warn all those who thought like her and who denounced the measures.
“It took five days and she suffered true martyrdom. She was in pain all over and had difficulty breathing, "says her younger sister, Monic Beaudoin.

However, Gisèle Beaudoin had moved away from her family in recent months, gradually falling into a conspiratorial spiral, according to her sister.

“She would get up at 4 am to watch all the videos of these people and send them to us on Facebook,” she says. At one point, I had to tell her husband to respect my opinion"
Monic Beaudoin can hardly believe that, on the day of her sister's death, tens of thousands of people stormed the streets of Montreal to demonstrate against sanitation measures.
But according to her, the deceased could also very well have been one of the number, she who had refused the vaccine which would undoubtedly have saved her life.

To respect her last wishes, her husband will finally be vaccinated soon.

"She said it was just the flu, that there were no more deaths this year. She changed her mind at the hospital.

We got it bad on the first wave 1 year ago. Our CHSLD were not prepared to this and we have much more elderly than other provinces and and more of them are in those CHSLD where contagion happened.. But we learned from that and we are now getting out of this third wave in better shape. Our vaccination is going well, 37,7% as of 11am today. Daily cases dropped dramatically since 1 month on drastic actions. We learned as opposed to other, misinformed and reckless.
À bon entendeur, salut!

The REAL situation today. This map gives total cases for the last 7 days. We can easily see that the situation is tragic in Alberta and Ontario.

If Quebec has the most dismal record in Canada, then what would you call Alberta `s record these days with 4 times the the per capita rate of Quebec in new cases. Maybe Alberta has already left the Canadian dominion so they don`t count.
Quebec has 10959 deaths with 8.5M people
Ontario has 8143 deaths with 14.6M people
Alberta has 2099 deaths with4.4M people

It was not all first wave. Until Mid March Quebec had the highest per capita death rate per day.

Deaths worry us more than cases, the majority of people with cases do not even know they have this deadly virus. Once you take out the people over 80 you wonder why the entire economy is ruined over this. Just my opinion. And yes, there could have been a far better solution to this.

I agree the vaccination campaign is as good as it could have got. The decision (although a gamble at the time) to go single shot, the choice to emphasize Montreal were the right decisions and they deserve credit for this. Ontario's vaccination is not as efficient. Their reservation systems suck and overall things are slower.

Here is death per million and case per million data. Red Quebec, Blue Ontario, Green Alberta. We see that Quebec did poorly on the first two waves in terms of deaths. It was not just the first wave. And this is what pisses me off. First wave was a surprise to everyone and yes the CHLSD were an issue. 3rd wave is all about variants and is a new game. But second wave was avoidable. And I do not understand the high death rate vs cases in the 2nd wave.

The second chart (cases) shows Alberta did poorly on cases in the 2nd and third wave. What is scary is it continues to rise. Ontario has the worst behind it

So I still believe Quebec's record is not to be bragged about. However Legault has shown more leadership than is Ontario counterpart.

Look behind you.
Too many people in the west are refusing the jab . Alberta will take a long time to reach herd immunity with their negative mentality.
Hate to beat a dead horse but Alberta has 14% who will not take it but Quebec has 25%
For Quebec to reach the vaccination rate of roughly 80 per cent health authorities believe necessary to quell COVID-19, it must find a way to convince one-quarter of the population still reluctant to get their shot.
Regular polls taken since the beginning of the pandemic show the number of people hesitant to get vaccinated for COVID-19 has stayed stable at 25 per cent, including eight per cent who are considered extremely reluctant.

Well .....

Talking to my daughter and when she goes out to a pub or restaurant ( in orange zone ) she gets asked for ID, no local ID and you are not allowed in. I will be going home May 19th for 3 weeks, still have an old Drummondville ID which should get me into the pubs ( we get tested weekly on the TM site, have no fear of having and spreading the virus ). Gonna BBQ, smoke weed and drink rum, a couple of massages will be in order also.
Probably wrong section but no thread about different zones in Quebec and what you are allowed to do.

I didn't respond in the Alberta thread because I didn't want to be off topic.

We were talking about the danger of the Coronavirus.

"Interesting comment coming from someone who just finished a 3 some, did you social distance and wear a mask? You reasoning only applies when you see fit?"

I have been vaccinated.
In short, I think that your plane trip (you were not vaccinated at the time), with a lot of people, with no distancing, in a small space for several hours, is much more at risk than me.
You must have the last word, that reminds me of someone.
