So Legault praises AstraZenica saying it is safe for everyone to use yet he waited for the Pfizer vaccine 2 days ago, what a hypocrite !
Christian Dubé had AstraZeneca.

^^^^^^ If you get the vaccine you can still catch the virus and transmit the virus, what would be the point of a passport system unless everyone was vaccinated.
New CDC study about Pfizzer and Moderna is showing that transmitting the virus once vaccinated is very rare.

Good news from that major study is that people vaccinated with Moderna and Pfizzer (i had pfizzer) do not seem to transmit covid if they get infected once vaccinated. They believe that if it happends, it will be rare. I do not believe the study was made in with Astrazeneca.

Some back of the envelope math makes me think things will tip over pretty dramatically at around 30% of the population getting vaccinated. Not true herd immunity, but at that point with a virus that has really uneven spread you are likely to break up transmission pretty dramatically. (I should probably check the UK and Israel and see if I can figure that out.)

In the United States on Thursday in a single day they gave 4.1 million vaccines.

Well done Joe.

But it was trump in the lab formulating the vaccine and holding the pharma execs by their ankles over bridges cutting the red tape so we could have the vaccine in a matter of months!!!!!!

Agree this is generous. Mexico and Canada need doses and this will help the borders reopen (well the Northern one at least, the Southern one still seems fluid).

The astra-zeneca vaccine is still not approved in the US and Americans are progressing great with their own vaccines. Sending doses to Italy would have been nice too but Italy is not using their Astra-Zeneca doses these days so did not seem a priority.
How is this generous? They are giving away what they do not want to Canada. Europe banned it yet Canada accepts it. Mulroney is the ultimate one to blame who privatized our only vaccine laboratory which got sold to France. Fidel Trudope is incompetent in his handling of the entire country.

Quebec is redirecting people from the mass vaccination site at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday because of a planned protest in the area against COVID-19 health orders.
Health Minister Christian Dubé said today on Twitter appointments have been transferred to other clinics in the city.

Dubé says the other clinics had the capacity to honour appointments scheduled at the stadium but is deploring the fact protesters are choosing to demonstrate outside the mass vaccination site.

The protest is being organized online by a group calling itself Québec Debout (Quebec standing up). It calls the public health orders imposed in the province “excessive and unjustified.”

Protests are planned in Montreal and several other Quebec towns, according to the group’s Facebook page.

Dubé says the government respects the right to demonstrate but vaccination is a priority.

“People have a right to their opinion, but I think they could have left those who are getting vaccinated alone,” Dubé told TVA network in an interview today.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published April 30, 2021.

They sell signs for $10. Strange.
If we managed to get out of it, it won't be because of them.

I know it is just a few people but lets see what the future brings with this, I am still against taking this for a year or longer.

COVID-19 vaccine response blunted by common inflammatory bowel disease treatment | Imperial News | Imperial College London

Stop the vaccines !!! They vaccinate 5.3million people and 6 with known comorbid auto-immune issues develop symptoms that are treatable. OMG, I think i'm going to grow a third testicle from the vaccine !!! BTW, these folks had a higher chance of getting Covid to start with.

I am kidding. But kidding apart, if Trudeau steps down and asks you to take over for 6 months, what's YOUR strategy ? Treat it like the flu ? Get everyone vaccinated except yourself ? Masks ? The brazilian strategy ?

^^^^^^^^ The lockdowns for small business would stop right away, it can be mitigated. Do not care who takes the vaccines, not an issue with me, masks not an issue either. My main complaint is bankrupting people over this. Kind of hard for some to understand this I guess.
Nice to see you cherry picked one part of an article and nothing about the second article ( did you even notice it? ).
How did they fing out it's effects on those patients? Probably by giving them the vaccine and saying Ooops.

On the first part, I agree they could have done much better putting restrictions on business. Restaurants were over done. Bars, I agree they should be closed and probably give them more compensation, diverting money from business susbidies that weren't necessary. But we knew little about transmission and some placed erred too much on the cautious side.

On the second article. Not that surprising. I am sure there are a lot of interactions we are going to learn about over time. They could have and should do a lot better job helping people sort things like this out. If I am taking a certain prescription medication, I would say it's up to our doctors and pharmacists to stay on top of interactions with other drugs and advise us. This is one reason I think vaccination would have been better through Dr offices.

This vaccine is not perfect but there a LOT more people being saved than lost due to it. Orders of magnitude difference

Kind of hard to monitor something new and rushed through a clearance that is given to millions daily. Looks like a possibility of variants that the vaccines do not stop are coming, this can go on for years and years.

Israel Is The Most Vaccinated Country, But The B.1.617 Is Threatening It Now (ibtimes.com)

We have to start living again, just my opinion but the cure is worse than the virus, the people for all the lockdowns probably never lost their jobs or have a business about to go bankrupt, not fearing spousal or child abuse, the ones ordering the lockdowns never lost a dime and have zero consequence if all this fucks up.
I read in a paper ( forget which one ) basically bribing/blackmailing people to take the vaccine, something like " If you take the vaccine we will open restaurants / pubs ", what the fuck is that?

A Drummondville woman who refused to be vaccinated died from COVID-19 on Saturday. On her deathbed, she wanted to warn all those who thought like her and who denounced the measures.

“It took five days and she suffered true martyrdom. She was in pain all over and had difficulty breathing, "says her younger sister, Monic Beaudoin.

However, Gisèle Beaudoin had moved away from her family in recent months, gradually falling into a conspiratorial spiral, according to her sister.

“She would get up at 4 am to watch all the videos of these people and send them to us on Facebook,” she says. At one point, I had to tell her husband to respect my opinion"

Monic Beaudoin can hardly believe that, on the day of her sister's death, tens of thousands of people stormed the streets of Montreal to demonstrate against sanitation measures.

But according to her, the deceased could also very well have been one of the number, she who had refused the vaccine which would undoubtedly have saved her life.

To respect her last wishes, her husband will finally be vaccinated soon.

"She said it was just the flu, that there were no more deaths this year. She changed her mind at the hospital.

^^^^^^ Just my opinion but not taking the blood clots into account, the Astra is not the best, why not wait for the best one if possible. Now I am reading that they plan to mix and match different vaccines for second dose, science at its best I guess.

Waiting for the "best" is an option, if you can wait

While supply will continue to grow, it is and will be limited for a while.

I prefer the Pfizer go to kids, since that's the only vaccine confirmed for kids. I prefer it go to younger women since they have greater chance of clots. I prefer it go to people that have other medical challenges since they need to ultimate protection.

If I take Astra, my chances of dying have gone to as low as Pfizer. I have left the Pfizer vaccine for someone who doesn't have the choice (kids). I have accelerated getting to herd immunity.

Ya, we can wait around and in the mean time a few variants will pop their head up. We can wait around and move the July re-open date to September and leave restrictions for another 2 months

The mix and match is being studied in the UK. It won't be done without data in Canada

BTW, we will be getting a third shot in about 6-9 months.
