Hi everyone,
What do you tell the border agent when you are entering Canada? I've always said, I'm on vacation or I needed a getaway. But if they press and ask what you want to do there, I don't have a ready made answer.

Thanks!

I don't understand any of this. Why would they press anyway, but if they do ask how you intend to spend your time, answer like a tourist. You enjoy Canadian (Quebec) restaurants, bars, clubs, museums, etc. All are legal and what Joe innocent would mention. Tell them you love all the beautiful Quebec girls. They'll like that. We're all proud of our hot young women. You don't need to add that you're here to fuck 'em for a fee.

Tell them you're coming here to gamble at the casino.
Do visit the casino, at least once, so you know what you're talking about if they ask questions about it.
You can also have a players card made and show it if needed to the border agent.

There is no need whatsoever for any such machinations.

Besides, one can't visit the casino and have a player's card made BEFORE entering Canada in order to show it to the Canadian agent, now, can one?

The US agent only cares what you're bringing back, not what you did so nattering on about the casino and waving player's cards in her face is only going to make her suspicious enough to disassemble your car.

The question was, mr. Muffinbuffer, what to answer when the Canadian border patrol questions you about what you will be doing in Montreal.
I personnaly think it is a better reason (gambling) that saying you're visiting museums or traveling 2-3 hours alone to go to a restaurant !

I would be interested to hear your opinion Muffinbuffer, on what someone should answer when border patrol asks why you come so frequently to Canada?

And of course,

Of course, mr. Einstein, so let me explain it to you more slowly.
The next time Skimilk enters Canada, he will NOT have a players card to present if questionned about his visits.
But if on his next visit, he goes to the casino to see what it looks like, where it is located, etc and has a players card done (free for everyone, don't even need to play), on all his next visits in the future he will be confortable to say he's coming to Canada to gamble among other things.

OK, well here's a good question: It's my understanding that the basic act of prostitution (i.e. sex for money between two consenting adults, not in a brothel setting, not through an agency, not with minors) is legal in Canada. Has anyone actually just said this at the border? EB, can you opine on the legal ramifications? For instance, you get to Dorval Airport and walk up to one of the passport inspectors. She asks you what brings you to Canada. You say, "Well, I understand that certain acts of prostitution and solicitation are legal in Canada. Since it's largely illegal in the US (not 100% of the US), I've decided to come to meet your beautiful prostitutes and have sex-for-money with them.". Look them staight in the eye and say this. Morally, I couldn't care and would feel quite comfortable saying it.

What I would want to know prior to doing the above is:

Traveling or Contemplation of traveling for sex with a minor is generally a crime in the US. Is the act of traveling, or the contemplation of traveling, to engage a prostitute in another country, while on US soil, a crime? Would it possibly trigger the Mann Acts? Could you theoretically say this to a US and/or Canadian Border Guard?

Frankly, I'm tempted to do this next time I cross just to see their reactions. I think it would be a "hoot". I might even have someone take pictures...LOL

Well, seeing an escort is technically legal in Montreal as I understand it. I've always wanted to just be honest and say so. Anyone ever try this?

Under Clinton (I forget the bill # / name if the law) it became illegal for Americans to see prostitutes even in countries where prostitution is legal.

That would seem like waving a red flag at a bull. I'd bet $20 that they shake you down or worse.

Almost be worth it just to see their faces. Better to do it with a female border guard as men understand each other better. Love to see the shocked look on the border guard's face.

That's underaged prostitution, not 18 or over.

If they even suspect anything fishy, they will put a note in your file. If you piss them off, they will flag you. Just keep it simple and get through as fast as you can.

I remember coming home from a bachelor trip to Montreal - the US customs agent took our passports, saw four hung over guys in a car on a Sunday morning, and just asked, "Who's getting married?" We laughed and were on our way.

In fact, on our way up, when asked the purpose of our visit, one of the idiots in the back seat shouted out, "GAMBLING AND STRIPPERS!!". The customs agent smiled and just said "Enjoy Montreal. Don't get into any trouble."
