Being scammed for money is feeling like an idiot. I doubt it even comes close to the trauma of being forcibly raped.

That's a terrible comparison. Rape involve physical & mental assault for non-consented sex. That's something one doesn't recover easily because she will be scared of men for a long time.
You lost money, that's something you win back eventually. I know I didn't lose as much as you but you chose to trust her 20k$ That's an amount I will never trust anyone, not even an family member to lend.
In my case, I don't care about my stolen 2500$, I am just disappointed that's how my friendship with her ended. I knew she wanted to move to another city, so my visits to her wasn't going to last forever but at least, I wanted to tell her a proper goodbye and leave in good term but she chose to make up a story to steal my money. I am more worried about her kids if she keep doing this and doing it to the wrong client that could put her in danger.

This reminds me of a client who brought a lawsuit against a deadbeat over a $30,000 debt. Simultaneously he posted about the guy on the Rip Off Alert. The guy, the deadbeat, sent out messages to all of my client's Facebook friends- which were family and friends- and ruthlessly exposed very very embarrassing personal things about the client, things he did not want made public. He did not put a block on his Facebook and privatize it. Fuck up City!!!!! Came to me after damage was done and we never got a penny back from Mr. Deadbeat, because he had no money and no assets.
My experience is that almost every person I know who attempted this type of vengeance got hit twice as hard in the back of the head, and did not see it coming, although they should have.
