Et non c'est pas tous les partisans qui adule Price ... si tu écoute les lignes ouverte et que tu regarde ce qu'ils écrivent sur les médias sociaux ... Tu sais Gab parfois le sauveur finit sur une croix ......oui mais BRISEBOIS était stigmatisé.....les spectateurs étaient CONTINELLEMENT sur son dossier/ cas/dos....

This probably should have happened in the off-season but management was duped into thinking that making the Stanley Cup finals meant that Montreal was the second best team in hockey and no changes were necessary. Apparently so were some fans. Realistically it was only because of Covid impacts on playoff formats that Montreal even made the playoffs each of the last 2 seasons. There is a tendency in all sports to overrate the performance of a weak regular season team that performs well in the playoffs, and Habs management fell into this trap. They believed the team was outstanding and would keep playing like it did in the playoffs last year.

Not just with the Habs, but with other sports teams, the media doesn't usually talk much about repeated poor and unproductive drafts. But I would suggest there has also been a poor drafting philosophy. For many years it seems emphasis was placed on players who were small, fast and gritty, and the Habs seem like they have been a team of undersized forwards for years. At what point do you say let's draft some bigger power forward types so we can score some goals off rebounds? Even their own player, Drouin, was publicly critical of the team's inability to establish player presence in front of the net so rebounds can be converted into goals. Sometimes you have to listen and pay attention to these things.

Caulfield, according to the Canadiens' management, isn't good enough to play on the fourth line of his own team (now). He was sent down to the minors.
