You can't argue with a .971 save percentage........maybe they should just keep starting him and trade Price. Right now Price is a highly paid bench guy when healthy.

Anyone notice the Rangers won their 6th straight tonight?

Not too fast about Lindgren. The Buffalo Sabres are one of the worse teams in hockey and once again the habs had to go into overtime to beat them. How a team can't score more than one goal in regulation against the worse defensive team in the league is beyond me. But then again, when Brendan Gallagher leads your team in scoring it all starts making sense.

Anyone notice the Leafs beat Boston again? They sure have their number! And both wins came without Auston Matthews in the lineup and last night they beat the Bruins in Boston with their backup goalie!

Doc-

Lindgren so far in his short NHL career has a 6-1 record and a .960 save %. Granted it is a small sample size but in sports you climb on and ride him until there is evidence that he is a backup type talent or worse. If that means paying Price to be the most expensive backup goalie in NHL history because you can’t trade his contract, that’s what you do.

If you were the Yankees manager who decided to play the young Lou Gehrig when Wally Pip returned after missing one game due to a headache, would you have instead sat Gehrig down and said sorry son, starting players don’t lose their job due to injury so you gotta sit? Pipp has been slumping and the Yankees wanted to see what they had on their hands with Gehrig, who was showing signs of stardom as a pinch hitter. Similarly the Habs need to find out what they have on their hands with the young Lindgren.

Habs just claimed goaltender Antti Niemi off waivers. He was terrible last season with Dallas. He was terrible this season in Pittsburgh and recently with Florida.

Marc "Bargain Bin" Bergevin strikes again!!!!

p.s. I'm guessing Zac Fucale has zero future in the organization after this recent move.

No Stanley cup parade in Montreal this season.

I went to the game tonight. Thank God I got free tix in the Red centre line 113 section. I will never pay that ticket price to watch this current team. What a mess .... it’s a pain to watch them play. First 2 periods, they couldn’t do proper passes, let alone taking control of the puck. It was like a Pee Wee team, if not a handicapped team. Come on ... I’m a Montrealer and Habs fan but I’m starting to think the owner is taking the attitude that the Habs will always make money with a sold out stadium. So fuck the fans ... these suckers will always pay to watch the team.

Shame on Bergevin. Price should have been changed last summer to a medium range goalie and breed him to be no.1 goalie. In exchange, get 2 forwards ready to pound the net. My opinion .... .

The only exciting part was the 3rd period with some actions but s little too late.

Normand Flynn just told Tony Marinaro on TSN 690 that he wouldn't be surprised to learn next week that Carey Price was traded. He finds the latest caper a little too fishy plus the fact that Carey Price told Chantal Macabee of RDS that he wasn't injured. If this is the case Flynn speculates that the delay in trading Price has more to do with the other team's player(s) getting the green light for the trade from the medical staff. Or maybe they're still debating on which players will be involved in the trade. Makes sense!

Actually i beg to differ. If he regains top form they'll never trade him & even if they would want to their price would then be too high for anyone to be interested. I think he still has a lot of value even if he's struggled so far. The season is still fairly young and it would be very silly to think he wouldn't bounce back. He'd likely be even better since he'd probably be playing with better defencemen.

The main hiccup with Price isn't how he's performing. What would scare other teams are how much he'll be paid starting next season for another 8 years. Not many team want to sacrifice that much of their salary cap to pay a goaltender.
