Weber's contract is heavily front loaded and he doesn't have a no-trade clause... he will be easy to move to a team looking to get to the cap floor when the time comes... he'll have a 7.8mil cap hit for 3,1,1,1 mil salaries in his final 4 years... A cheapskate owner will be easy to find... maybe Ottawa?

And several other goalies will be making Carey Price money within a couple of years... heck, Lundquist is at 8.5 now and Rinne (at 7 mil now) is UFA after next year... How much will he get?

I also hate those outdoor games which are nothing else but a cash-grab by the greedy NHL owners. It was okay at first but now they've become a drag.

No, it is still hockey but you just can't tell unless you are in the first couple of rows. This is a big rip off. And the promoters will say something like Be part of the biggest mob...err...I mean crowd ever for a hockey game. Nobody can see so you get rip roaring drunk and it turns into a riot.

I have been o a NCAA regional final for basketball at an indoor football arena. My friend had court-side seats behind the basket. You couldn't see very well at all Doc. A football field is built to watch a football game and the site lines are different and not suited for basketball. It was like the outdoor hockey thing but in doors.

Les Habs vont-ils compléter leur tour du chapeau avec une 3ème victoire ce soir contre les Oilers ? Bon match.

Gaby,

Calm down. The Oilers have won 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5. Their only loss in that 5 game stretch, which was all against good teams with actual winning records, was against Nashville. Edmonton's winning ways are likely to continue tonight. Back to backs on the road are never easy. They wear on you mentally and physically. If you think the Habs will present a fresh team on the ice tonight, then you need a fresh cup of coffee.

I agree with EB the Oilers should win that one quite easily. Still this is sports and this is hockey, it's not impossible. The Habs are already happy to have won 2 games out west which is rare, so we never know. They may have one more surprise!

The Nashville Predators–Tampa Bay Lightning Cup final will go seven games
We’re in for a thrilling Stanley Cup final in 2018, and for the first time in three years it won’t involve Pittsburgh. Once Ryan Ellis returns, the Preds’ defence will be the deepest and scariest in the league — if it’s not already. Tampa will have the easier path to the final, arriving with fewer injuries and Steven Stamkos on a mission. Andrei Vasilevskiy will out-duel Pekka Rinne in a Game 7 to remember, and in 2032 they’ll build a statue of a Cup-hoisting Stammer next to the one of Dave Andreychuk outside of the Tampa barn...

The Habs are mired into another familiar losing streak and this season they might break their own record for the team's lowest scoring output in the modern era since 2001 when Oleg Petrov led the team in scoring with a measly 47 points. This season Brendan Gallagher, Alex Galchenyuk and Philip Danault lead the team in scoring with only 21 points at the 38 games mark. Embarrassing!!!

Sniper Max Pacioretty has only 8 goals, Jonathan Drouin has only 5 goals and Alex Galchenyuk has only 9 goals. These three players were counted on to provide much-needed scoring to one of the league's worse teams. They failed miserably and it's obvious these three players are definitely not a fit in Claude Julien's defensive-minded system.

Top defenceman Shea Weber now appears injury-prone but it's not surprising considering his age and the high number of minutes being given to him when he plays. Worse is that he's signed until 2026 and he's currently one of the league's top-paid defencemen. Did they really trade PK Subban for this guy??

Carey Price's massive $84 million contract (which will also expire in 2026) still hasn't kicked in and he also is no spring-chicken and has battled several serious injuries over the past few years.

The window to trace these unproductive overpaid players has passed and their value is on the downswing. They should have made the moves a few weeks ago when the team appeared to rebound but the GM failed miserably in his tasks.

This is a failing franchise who will fight to attract fans come next season and the ones after unless big moves are made now. There's no immediate help on the farm or in the juniors after giving away Sergachev to Tampa for the grossly underachieving Jonathan Drouin who has no business playing centre, by the way.

The only good side to all of this mess is that game ticket prices will likely go down in the future in order to keep their great fans from abandoning the team. The worse thing that could happen to this organization right now is if Quebec City winds up with an NHL team, where many current habs fans will flock to if it ever happens.

Pauvre bleu, blanc, rouge!!!!! You are royally fucked!!!:eek::eek:

Vraiment pathétique...Price fait le travail mais pas les autres....triste fin d'année et malheureusement 2018 ne s'annonce pas mieux....ce sera très certainement une année de grands changements.....et pendant ce temps SUBBAN 5 buts 6 assistances dans ses 9 derniers matchs......Bonne et Meilleure Année.
