My Red Wings beat the Habs again last night in their own building. Twice in the same year. The commentators said that this hasn't happened since 2007-2008 when the Wings had the best team money could buy. However, I can't find record of this. Can someone help? Also, the Wings are terrible and Montreal is pretty good. How does this happen?

How it happened? Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill ate two hotdogs at the Bell Centre just before the game. He did the same thing last time and it seems to have worked. Had he not ate those two hotdogs the habs likely would have won.

Seriously though....the habs lost against the worse team in hockey (at the moment) because they have a team that still badly struggles scoring goals. It's been this way for years. Nothing seems to change year after year. No snipers, no true #1 centre, small team, below-average defence, strong goaltender. Same story. Year...after...year.

Let’s hope that the other coaches never figure this out ,,,because then they will surely miss the playoffs
But even worse ... they will be forced to stop serving these healthy and delicious hot dogs which right now seem to be their best seller on that menu

A few weeks ago during a game the food court ran out of hotdogs!!! I kid you not!! And the place wasn't even full yet they ran out of hotdogs!

Seriously though....what's so special about those hotdogs? I've been there many times for a game or concert and although they taste good i find nothing that special about them. Heck, Decarie Hotdogs makes much better hotdogs!! And in my opinion so are the ones at the Montreal Pool Room on St-Laurent near Ste Catherine.

I’m not surprised that they run out of HD Doc ... It’s kind of the first thing to get when your watching a sporting event ( cheap and easy to eat )
Special ? Don’t know I guess there ok , probably not Gordon Ramsey approved unless you ask weiner expert Joey Chestnut
I used to like the grilled ones at Harvey’s once in a while with just mustard

The best hot dogs i ever ate in Mtl was a couple of years ago when a buddy of mine took me to Decarie Hot Dog. The fries were also fantastic! But the problem is that it's located in Ville St-Laurent and for someone who doesn't have a car it's a problem to get there. But if you do it's well worth it!

After that it's the famous 'Montreal Pool Room', which is located about a block from the former Hyatt Regency. It's on St-Laurent, near where Cleo's is located if i remember correctly. I haven't been there in over a year but i think the special of 2 hot dogs with fries and soft drink was under $8 if i remember correctly. Or less.

I agree Harvey's made a decent hot dog but the one i used to go to on Peel near Ste Catherine is no more. So now if i feel like having a hot dog i go to Valentine @the Eaton Centre food court. I find their food better than the other 'Valentine' franchises in the area.

For burgers i still prefer Five Guys over the others in the downtown area. I also enjoy their fries. One of my buddies had a hot dog the last time we were there together and he absolutely loved it! He went back for another one the following day!

Three questions for the hockey fans:

1) Will the Habs ever win another Stanley Cup?

2) When will the Habs make the playoffs again?

3) Will Carey Price still be with the Habs the next time they make the playoffs?

1) If we are to believe the climate crisis crowd, we have only 10 to 12 years left on this planet, so I would say unlikely.

2) I will go out on a limb and say there may be a chance, in a few years' time. Stranger things have happened.

3) Your guess is as good as mine.

1. Not during the career of any player currently on the team

2. In the next 3 years, 1 or (possibly) 2 playoffs and corresponding 1st round elimination.

3. Yes

Jalimon,

You really should take a look at the standings some time. The Habs are in the playoffs as of today but 4 teams are within 2 points behind them and 3 of the 4 have better goal differentials than Montreal. The 4th (the Rangers) have a -1 to Montreal’s 0. 2 of the teams behind Montreal, Tampa Bay and Toronto, were picked as the most talented 2 teams in the East but have severely underachieved. An explosion towards the norm by either of those teams puts Montreal out of the playoffs. What all of this tells me is at a minimum you have a dogfight involving 3 to as many as 5 teams for that playoff spot. That’s called a crapshoot, not a lock.

I didn t think I'd take part to this thread when i started scrambling for reviews... did think i was to bias or is it like this you spell that word fuck ; i don t know but i sure know how to spell fuck ;) So i never started a hockey year thinking i wont make the playoffs and wont start anytime soon; i ve never started a playoff run not thinking the HABS could go all the way and ! wont start comes spring..
Was in my early teens when we last hoisted it, a young fan that went to all the games at the forum with his buddy by themselves; Celebrated the win in the stands and never thought it would be so long before another Stanley cup final
We sure don t have the best team on paper BUTT that team can beat anyone anygiven night and can take out Washington in a 4outof7 or maybe someone else takes care of them, shall we be afraid of BUF CAR or MYI... maybe this year we pay ourselves s threat and take out BOSTON and go on to the final up against Colorado.....
whohooo!!!

No way!!! If I do this I would loose my illusions that the Habs are one of the best team out there. One that will make the playoff.

It's like the girl we see. I need to have the illusions that they had a good time with me. Not the reality which probably lies between "what a fucking childish moron to sweet ok guy..." ;)

Many of us Habs fans suffer from this same virus, and it seems to be getting worse year by year without any cure in sight.
How this spread from Toronto to here I will never know.
