Of course she has been coached and practiced her speech but, STN, not everyone has the ability to perform after being coached. You should watch some public advocacy some time. I have coached these kids and even when they listen and soak up what you tell them, most of them are scared/lacking in self confidence and cannot execute. They will be good in practice sessions but choke at the final trial.

Not necessarily odd. It is not unusual for people with Asperger's to be very talented. Some in fact are geniuses, like Grigori Perelman.

Poor Greta claims that "...you have stolen my youth." What a joke. Her parents have stolen her youth by freaking her out. Look at her crazy left eye. It closes independently from her right eye - freaky. Even if the average temperature increases by 1.5 degrees F over the 21st century, as climate change alarmists predict, she should be glad. Living in Sweden the Winters will be slightly more tolerable and instead of having to flock to the south of Spain every summer, Swedes will be able to sun bathe naked for a greater portion of each Summer - at home. HaHa!!
In all seriousness, stopping cows from farting isn't the answer (or going vegan). And the world population will continue to grow massively - especially since China rescinded its one child rule. We as a society are very pig headed and selfish about population control. Eventually natural resources will be depleted and the historical evolutionary processes for thinning out populations will kick in: disease and famine.
^^^^^ I agree but why are the marches and protests in countries that are not the problem? Why not march in India or China? It would make more sense than demonstration here. It is like going to a bank to bitch that the loan shark charges too much interest, stupid is it not?

I personally think I am one lucky bastard. I was born in the best country on earth in the best city on earth. I had a lot of love, a lot of sex and some kind of success. The least I can do is be grateful and realize the lucky fucking bastard I am and think about others and our future generation. And what I am seeing is not good. As others previously mentioned Greta looked pretty comfortable giving that speech,,, a bit charismatic at times . Coached you say ? Well it should not come as a surprise . Both her parents make their living on stage. Her mother is an opera singer if I’m not mistaken and her father is an actor,,,it’s only natural that it rubbed off on their daughter.
Now about the speech I think it turned off a lot of the audience , at least that’s the impression I got reading up on it the next day .I thought that the tone at times was inappropriate if not the speech itself at times.
But whether we agree on the science or not ( GW/CC) we need to perhaps applaud the effort. She’s a kid who seems genuinely concerned about the well being of our planet.
If anything she means well and is very passionate as we all witnessed ....at the very least I give her extra points for that .

Mao also used teenagers (Red Guards) to start the cultural revolution in China. Teens are very susceptible to “messianic” and “revolution” ideologies and are often incapable of any logical analysis and the free exchange of opinions. Greta is also Asperger's, which explains her borderline hysterical “performance”. Thus, I found support of her “crusade” by the liberal media pathetic, dishonest and a travesty towards Western democratic tradition
