iPhone 6 Bending "Overblown"

I think you guys need to smarten up and realize that samsung and other Apple competitors are running to the media with whatever BS they can concoct to poison the marketplace against Apple, which is costing them millions and millions of lost smartphone purchases. The exposing of the bullshit has already started:

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/sep/29/iphone-6-plus-bending-overblown-consumer-reports

I got $50 that says all the complaints were from students who were paid off by Samsung to go to the media with their issues. I am guessing Samsung has a spy in Apple's customer service department who downloaded the customer information and transmitted it to Samsung, which then cold called the complainant. Apple is paying the spy $8 per hour but Samsung is paying a lot more than that for the complainant info.

Corporate espionage at its finest! But guess what, bullshit is bullshit and eventually the market sees that.

I already posted the same about the bending in post #9. As for spies and corporate marketing do you not think that Apple does the same? Odd how the new I-phone looks the same as a Samsung now, nothing to do with spying just playing catch up. You will always have Apple fans and haters.

Yes! All these companies spy on each other but Apple is the target of spies right now because they are the company that just sold 10 million phones in the last week or so! Corporate espionage goes to where the money is, and the money right now is in espionage directed at Apple!

Yes and when the galaxy 6 comes out the same will happen to them, vicious cycle. Phone techie I am not, when I purchased my galaxy 2 four years ago I went to 15 kiosks that sold all phones and asked the sales people if they were to buy one which would they chose and 11 said the galaxy 2 plus I liked the larger screen, now sure about now. I dislike Apple due to their I-tunes that works on Apple products only, I know it is a minor thing but it irked me.
As for the bending if you check the consumer report link I have in post #9 you will see the I-phone 6 is much weaker than the Samsung galaxy plus the galaxy is water proof which is a big plus. A couple of friends of mine had phones that quit and warranty was void because moisture was in the ports ( sweat from being inside pockets )... Just a note.

Apple has always had the biggest target on it's back... They continue to innovate, while the others tend to follow with something new here and there... Call it what you will, but Apple will continue to push the smartphone market, not the others...

I went from the 5 to the 6 plus about a week ago. Very happy that I did it. Living in NYC, it was nearly impossible to pick up the one I wanted either at an Apple store or my carrier. Ended up buying it online at Apple, picked a Connecticut location for the pick up and drove about 20 minutes to grab it. I opted for the 128 gig with the black front. Impressed with the camera, storage, and the screen. No issues with the phone bending and I'm happy with the extra large screen. The landscape mode is a wonderful addition and I really enjoy using the browser now with the larger screen. I also have a 5 that I use for business and I found it difficult going back to the small screen. The 6 plus with it's larger screen, big keyboard, etc. was a great upgrade.

It's worth it from a 5 to 6.

From a 5s it's less obvious (my case).

Still not used to the big screen on the iPhone 6. Battery and camera are better.

I'd like to chime in on this.
To begin, I will come forward and say I'm a huge Android/Samsung fan when it comes to my phones. I have a Note3 and Samsung S4 right now which I love.
First thing is that Apple hasnt been an "innovator" in the cell phone market since the release of the FIRST Iphone. The "new" features you see on the latest model have been available to Android users for quite a while now (2+ years).
Larger screen size? Well obviously it was the right move to make on their part. They were losing market share due to their stubbornness to keep the tiny display size on the last 2 models. Internal storage? You need to stick to whatever size you purchased. And when you move from a 16gb model to a 64gb model there is about a 150$ difference. Whereas on ALL my Samsung phones, all I need to do is add a microSD card. a 64gb card can be purchased for about 30$ if you shop wisely. And its moveable to another device if I need to.

About the BENDING issue which is now called "Bendgate" !! lol Well, whether there were 9 cases or more doesnt make a difference because some websites have done their own tests (youtube videos available) and the Iphone did bend with a really small amount of pressure and wasnt able to get back to it's original shape.

There a lot of things that deter me from going Iphone and the whole Apple ecosystem. But I do agree that it is really a " to each is own" situation. And if an Iphone does the job for you than that is the phone you should get.

Oh ya before I go ...

ApplePay will NEVER be a "game changer" !!! lol NFC chips have been on other smartphones for years!!!

Every company is going to have their hits and misses. Ford had the Edsel and Volkswagon had the Rabbit. Van Halen had the Sammy Hagar albums. The list goes on. All 3 of those companies are still in business.

I think there is something that is pure about the iPhone. The only thing I can think to compare it to is New Haven pizza.

You're right about innovator but they are what makes adoption of technology a widespread standard because of their user base.

Waiting to see when Android L/Nexus 6/X make their debut before I decide if I would finally jump into the iPhone 6 bandwagon. After fiddling with the iPhone 6 Plus for some 45 minutes at the Apple store I am really impressed with this phone! Just not a big fan of iTunes though.

Numerati the iPhone 6 plus is a monster, looks more like a tablet than a phone to me.

On the other hand, it is big enough to really provide great viewing of escort photographs. I just don't see how one carries that monster around in a suit jacket. I guess it depends on how you use your phone.

The iPhone 6 Plus is perfect for my needs. Actually with the case I am planning to purchase that iPhone 6 Plus is going to get bigger. LOL. Learning from my experience with the iPod Touch 4th Gen I am not going to upgrade the OS though. If I didn't upgrade to iOS 6 I wouldn't be even thinking about getting any phablet since I also own an iPad Air.

This is still all up in the air though as I am still waiting to see how the upcoming Android OS and the new Nexus perform.

I am planning to pay full price for the phone since I want it unlocked. Since I only pay $80 to $100 per year for my cell phone needs because I go prepaid. I can get a great WiFi hotspot with Karma Hotspot.

I just upgraded to an iPhone 6 plus. I really like it so far. Much easier to type and text than on the iPhone 5. I am hanging on to the iPhone 5 and am going to unlock it and use it as my backup phone when I come to Montreal. All I will need to do is go to the Rogers store and buy a SIM card.

This means that my Go Phone is likely history. It kind of sucks for texting anyway. I got my money out of it so I will give it a proper burial.

After finding out the horrendously high SAR on the iPhone 6 line I decided to opt out to getting one. Instead I got myself a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Got it because it has one of the lowest SAR out of all the smartphones out there and I am falling in love with it since now I don't need my Nexus 7.

Numerati,

The FCC regulates SAR levels and cellphones are not allowed to be sold in the USA unless below the SAR level permitted by the FCC. Anything under 1.6 is deemed safe. You probably have a better chance of getting cancer from smoking cigarettes or any of a number of other behaviors. Honestly the cellphone you choose will have much less influence on Numerati's chances of getting cancer than a multitude of other lifestyle choices as well as genetic factors.

Getting back to the iPhone 6 plus- I have used it for only one day and it makes my iPhone 5 feel like a dinosaur piece of shit. It's like comparing video in VHS format to DVD.
