Per Legault, PQ is not in the race anymore and he is targeting Couillard now. Next thursday s debate will be less polite than the first one I guess. Marois will have no choice but to resign if she looses these elections. She will have no credibility afterwards, and PKP will be the new figure of separatism in Quebec, crazy times.

PKP wants to be King of Quebec. The question is, did Marois snooker PKP to announce separation so she can throw him under a bus when the idea tanks, or did PKP announce separation so that he can overthrow Marois and put him in place for the next elections after the Liberals win this time?

... or did PKP announce separation so that he can overthrow Marois and put him in place for the next elections after the Liberals win this time?

I also thought for a moment that this was done on purpose by PKP. PQ leaders should already know from the 2007 elections experience that making the referendum a major goal is not a good idea.

So, 65% of the population is against a referendum, at the same time, many people support PQ because it takes care of social programs and does not look so capitalist like the PLQ. The best move that Mme Marois has come with is to recruit a shark businessman known for his disdain of unions and have him shout "I want the Quebec to be a country" with his fist up in the air! Oh well, things happen.

Rene levesque must be turning in his grave; he was a person who believed in a cause and worked hard to achieve it; I doubt that he was racist, he was respectful of les autres , and his referendum question would never have been a convoluted lie; his beliefs came at a cost, quebec lost a large tax base, much intelligence moved out, and we has become second class; the leaders after him were, and continue to be, the downfall of their people ; they spew lies and intolerance

Excellent points above.
Sadly for René, sovereignty-association is off the table. And the gang from 1995 have made it clear that if they got 50% of the vote +1, they were out.

The boomers want to give up their federal pension for the sake of emotion???
Get real.

When they said they wanted to use the Canadian currency and have a seat at the bank of Canada. Oh, I laughed. Had a Coffee; and then laughed some more. It was a good day.

I doubt that he was racist, he was respectful of les autres , and his referendum question would never have been a convoluted lie

He was a master of public relations who carefully cultivated his image of a reluctant, tolerant freedom fighter for an oppressed people. He hid his "ethno-centricity" behind Camille Laurin and whined about how humiliated he was to legislate on language. That hypocritical wimp was later tossed out by his own party who now deifies him.

The question for the upcoming Scottish referendum is: "Should Scotland be an independent country?"

Compare that with Rene's convoluted mess:

The question posed on the ballot was:
"The Government of Quebec has made public its proposal to negotiate a new agreement with the rest of Canada, based on the equality of nations; this agreement would enable Quebec to acquire the exclusive power to make its laws, levy its taxes and establish relations abroad — in other words, sovereignty — and at the same time to maintain with Canada an economic association including a common currency; any change in political status resulting from these negotiations will only be implemented with popular approval through another referendum; on these terms, do you give the Government of Quebec the mandate to negotiate the proposed agreement between Quebec and Canada?"

Marois may find herself a broken old woman in a few weeks without a job shaking her fist at her television, yelling at the new Premiere and blaming Anglo Money and the Jews for her loss.

I will beat the crowds and do the early vote Monday.

Do you know how to make a separatist crazy?..........................................Call up the PQ and ask them where your neighborhood voting station is, then tell them you are going there to vote Liberal!
