Hi Doc ! I agree with you. To choose the Pens is risky at this point. Hossa...he can go to hell as far as I'm concerned. Mario Lemieux's priority is to make sure that Malkin stays put and happy with his contact. In my book Malone is also a must ! A native boy, playing in his own city, with great leadership. Shero is missing on the Big Picture. Let go of Hossa and aim at Brian Campbell !!! Take your time Doc. I beleive that besides the Pens, the Devils or the Flyers might be long shots. Ottawa, The Rangers and possibly Boston might even pull the upset like the Canadiens did last year ! Kisses xxxXXXxxx

I cannot cease to be amazed by your hockey knowledge, Nadya. Most women i know don't care much about hockey. What makes you so different from the most of them?

I'm selecting the Habs to finish First in the East !

with me. And if the Team of your selection finishes First, then its on me !
Bar Tab and All...;)...

:)

Is this open to all? If so, since I can't resist a good sucker... Seriously, even though you are obviously far more knowledgeable about hockey than me, this sounds like a win-win for me. Since I am moving early next year and I don't want to stiff you, here is my proposition:

If Mtl is in first place on the morning of Dec. 1st, you win. If, at that time, Ottawa is in first place, I win. If neither team is in first place, no bet.

Are we on?

Hello There Sydney !! Malone is a character guy, and for the right price, I beleive he is a keeper...I find him sexy ! lol ! Hossa did have great playoffs, but I cant find it in me to trust him. Skating I'm not sure ! Going over to watch a game at the Bell Center, yes indeed !!!

Hey Nadya..I will laugh if Hossa ends up in Montreal..Remember, we traded with the Habs for his " runt " brother..certainly not as good as Marion..

Hossa said he's always wanted to come here and was hoping that

Atlanta and Montreal would have came to an agreement but the

thrashers wanted too much. Now he's a free agent and can go

wherever he pleases.

Imagine we get him AND Sundin

What an off season!!

Both Sundin and Hossa will not sign with anyone before July 1. Well thats what I beleive. Between the two of them and for the same price then Hossa becomes the logical choice...if we have the chance to sign one of them.

Huet? You mean goalie Crystobal Huet who was literally given away to the Washington Capitals last season on deadline day? I suppose even "the most boring person alive" also didn't think much of him and his tandem with that choker Carey Price & figured he'd do his own team a favor by trading him to a conference rival.

You know so little. The Huet trade was all about:

  • Anticipation of a trade that fell through (Hossa and Hedberg from Atlanta but Wadell reneged and wanted more once Huet was dealt)
  • The salary cap and free agency
  • being competitive in the future.

Huet was set to walk after the season as a UFA and at least Bob got some something back – Huet would not have gotten the Habs any further last year in the playoffs and Price earns valuable experience. At least Price won a playoff series, Huet didn’t. Speaking of the playoffs, how far did your Leafs go in the post season? Yeah, that’s what I thought!

If the Habs want to make a cup run on their 100th anniversary and are looking for a guy for one year only, Sundin is a better choice than Hossa.

Wrong. They could have possibly beaten Philly with Huet in nets. They also probably would have ended their series with Boston sooner & been able to rest their players, including Price who was burnt out.

Go Habs Go! :D

Absolutly ! Price lost his grip and that was it.

Lets remember that Huet had the Flyers defeated ... then again as we all know NHL referees have occasional "" Brain Farts ""

I'm still pissed of !!

Huet was great getting the Caps into the playoffs, but IN the playoffs he was no better than Price. In fact, their stats are quite similar'
Two entirely different teams. You can't compare them in the playoffs when not only did they play for different teams, but played against different teams. The point is, i'm not saying that Huet would have been any better than Price. Likely not. But what i'm saying is that Huet could have taken some of the load off Price for a few games....especially during the final month of the season. Price was a burnt out goalie halfway into the Boston series. He would have been a much better goaltender if Huet would have been there until the end. With a rested & focused Price, who knows how far the Habs could have went?

Actually both Goalies faced the FLYERS, with Huet getting knocked out in round one and Price getting knocked out in round two.

PLAYER GP W L GAA TOI SV SV% SHO TGA TSA PIM ENG
Carey Price 4 1 3 4.13 217:55 89 .856 0 15 104 2 1
Jaroslav Halak 2 0 1 2.33 77:23 24 .889 0 3 27 0 1

Cristobal Huet 7 3 4 2.93 451:05 220 .909 0 22 242 2 1

Clearly Huet had a better series, but MAYBE Price was worn out by the time he played Philly.

Vancouver
Kyle Wellwood

I think the Canucks got a gem in Wellwood ... he seems like he has potential to be a point per game player, all though he is some what injury prone. In an interview with a Vancouver radio, he said that he took the game for granted and didn't value what he had while he was in Toronto. I'm hoping that he takes his stint in Vancouver seriously and grow into his potential, definately see him being a good replacement for Brendan Morrison ...

A good friend of mine in Toronto who's acquainted to his family told me that the main problem with Wellwood is that he's too nonchalant about his hockey career & has no drive. All he does all day long during the off-season is hang out outside with is gf & smokes cigarettes. No training, dieting, etc. The guy doesn't even own a tv! Even his own father got exasperated with him last year & asked Paul Maurice personally to try to push his son into training & working out more since he feared that eventually his hockey career would go down the dumps. His knack to be prone to injuries in the past couple of years exposes his lack of conditionning.

an excellent move by Bob! :D

meanwhile, the idiot Toronto Maple Craps overpay big time and sign someone called Jeff Finger to a 4 year $14M deal! :p  this guy apparently is almost 30, spent most of his career in the minors and only made $475,000 last seaon yet the dumbest organization in hockey shells out $3.5M a year for a third pairing defense man - welcome to Toronto! :D

Yeah and these same idiots also signed Curtis Joseph - I guess Johnny Bower was unavailable. What a collection of morons. The TSN panel was not amused either. Someone said that this time the Leafs are really giving their fans the Finger!
