Rangers signed Marcus Naslund so it looks like they gave up on Sundin. And since Sundin turned down a 20 million/2 year deal with the Canucks, there aren't many options left beside the Habs unless he re-signs with the Leafs... Especially since he said today that he's still weeks away from making a decision...

What is the situation with the cap for the Rangers? I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Sundin joining good buddy Naslund in New York for less money. Or even reuniting with Sakic in Colorado. Given that he would fight with Gomez and Drury for icetime in New York and that tha Avs are in the west, I'd say that our chances are good. But i will not get excited until it is confirmed. And how about returning to the Leafs in the city he likes so much?

Laraque is the best news for guys like Begin and Lapierre. They will be able to play their game as "pests" hile having the toughest guy in the NHL to protect them.

Some guys in MTL will 'cry' one day over his case...

To be remembered as the day the Leafs robbed the Habs... This guy will tear the league apart... soon enough...A BIG TIME STEAL....

MTL management did a shit job with this dude....and they WILL regret it...

Let just hope that they go with S.Kosty as their #2 or 3 center...NO has been a la Smolinski... PLEASE.....

Have you seen him play? He spends half his time face flat on the ice. He has talent, he just has bad attitude and he's too weak. He did not fit on the Habs roster anymore.

Yes, in person many times... With the Leafs crappy roster he will have a good shot at #1 or 2 center... Watch out!

In the WTF category... Mike Commodore 20 millions???? 20???? did I read 20???? TABARNAK!!!!! non CAWLISSE de TABARNAK!!!! non CAWLISSE de CRISSE de TABARNAK!!!!

Sure he'll have the chance of his life but I have serious doubts that habs fans will regret this.

As for Commodore it is 5 years and 18.75M. Only the Jeff Finger now legendary signing might be worst.

Wow I love that Gainey signed "the rack"

His legs are like tree trunks he's huge

A cousin of mine was in his class in college at breboeuf

They overpaid for him a little but he's a quality enforcer which will help alot

Based on all the junk mail I received with the suffix .ru, I think Jagr will not fins problem to continue his on-line gambling habit since Russia seems so involve in shady internet scams.

Mikhail Grabovski became a Leaf yesterday as GM Cliff Fletcher turned a rare trade with the rival Canadiens, sending recent draft pick Greg Pateryn and a second-round selection in 2010 to Montreal.

Since Grabovski (a Russian version of Kyle Wellwood – lacking motivation, doesn’t want to compete … etc …) is heading back to play in Europe once his contract is up, this is an excellent deal for Montreal. The Habs acquire a fifth rounder and a second round pick in exchange for a fifth rounder – the second rounder will be a high pick since the shitty Toronto Maple Craps will finish out of the playoffs for the fifth straight year in 2010.

Gainey just robbed Fletcher – so whats new in Toronto as the worst franchise in hockey throws away another high draft pick! The Maple Loser organization and their inept management is responsible for keeping many hockey executives on other teams employed around the NHL. :D

"Local and international media were reporting that Jagr will be paid $35 million for two years. However, in an interview with TSN, Jagr, himself, says the deal would pay him $5 million annually."

5 million annually plus full payment of gambling debts he accumulates yearly. :)

Regarding Grabovski to Maple Laffs

Was reading Steve Simmons column, he was speaking with two highly successful NHL executives:

don't care for the Leafs' new centre, Mikhail Grabovski. "Too small," said one. "Too selfish. He has a Sergei Berezin mentality without Berezin's talent." ...

As of today, the Leafs forwards are Nik Antropov, Jason Blake, Alexei Ponikarovsky, Niklas Hagman, Alex Steen, Grabovski, Dominic Moore, Boyd Devereaux, Jiri Tlusty, Nikolai Kulemin, Mark Bell and the eventually re-signing, Matt Stajan. Could be the worst collection of forwards in Leafs history.

Simmons is correct, and it does not take rocket science to see that the damage currently been done to the franchise will take close to a decade to recover from. I will bet any money that Sundin will NOT go back with the Leafs organization. Not with the current management in place.

Come on guys, give Bertuzzi a break and have some mercy. He made a big foolish mistake a couple of years ago that changed his life badly. He is paying for his foolish act and he will never recover from it and it shows in the way he has been playing since. He has also been sued for big money that most probably he'd have to declare bankruptcy if he looses the case.

Thanks,
MP

Habs schedule

Habs announce 2008/2009 schedule for Montreal's Centennial season.

http://canadiens.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=368602

Meanwhile, the pathetic Toronto Maple Laffs are forced to give away tickets to a pre-season game, since their dumb ass fans haven’t had so much as a sniff of the Stanley Cup finals in over 40 years – and will miss the playoffs for the fourth straight year, the only Canadian team not to make the post season since the lock out. :D
