just get ready to flip flop this year.......Leafs will make the playoffs, while your team will get pushed around all season long and miss the playoffs

Well, here's one you DIDN'T get correct, so no congratulations here - sorry.

Bob, i dont just agree with Doc because he's a LEAFS fan, but if you think Mtl is better off than Toronto, your sadly as delusional as gohabsgo, and the other habs fans wearing blinders over their eyes, gonna be a very interesting season,...... especially if Gainey is done with his off season work........ better hope the kids in the minors step up, and Price becomes the Price he showed a LONG time ago

Another prediction that didn't quite the mark. You were right about one thing though: it was a very interesting season as leaf fans watched their team have its worst season in approximately 20 years (and that's saying a LOT since we're talking about a horrible season even by the pitiful "standards" of the LEAFS) and come second-last in a 30 team league.

isnt it true? from what i have seen from Gainey and Burke, i would 100% agree its true, as True as the Leafs having a better record this season coming than "Le Habs"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the leafs had a "better" season than ONLY the Oilers (who were coached by ex-leaf boss Pat Quinn and who lost almost 500 man-games to injuries). So much for your idea of "True".

i disagree, add the fact Exelby and also if they decide to keep Kaberle, along with Schenn, and Finger, thats extremely improved D,,,,,,

How are they going to win games exactly?
Easy, first with a vastly improved Defense, Toronto is heading in the right direction for once :D

I guess the direction sign pointed towards the cellar. As for the "vastly improved Defense", did you check out the end of season stats? How did TO do in the goals-against department? Oh really? Not that well, you say?

Yep, saw this yesterday , good stuff....... another piece of the puzzle in place, while Le Canadien's are going the other direction, how sweet it is these days....... so many habies fans with the blinders on, its absolutely hilarious :D........, take the  off and see what your team is this season, for your sake , i agree, leave them on , BWAHAHAHAHAH! :D

Well I guess this quote from last July proves that SOME fans had "blinders on" - I think they're called leaf fans.

i must say this is the first offseason in years that the Leafs have done so much to scare all the fans of Le Canadien, good stuff... Burke if nothing else, is trying to give the fans a competitive team

He gave the fans a team that was "competitive" enough to grab onto 29th place and hold on to it for pretty much the whole season. The only scared fans should be the ones in Hogtown.

10-19 ......

what Burke has said since day one and was hired for was to make Toronto better right away and into a Cup contender a few years from now.
So far are the Leafs better than last years team?, i think most hockey people would say yes, of course habs fans will never agree, but no one really values what a SCABS fan has to say..... :D

Well if Burke was hired "to make Toronto better right away" then I guess he failed miserably!

And were the leafs "better than last year's team" "as most hockey people would say" (says WHO?) - NO , they were even WORSE!

.......the fact of the matter is , the Leafs are going in one direction while the SCABS are heading the other, and it's fun to see the crybabies come out............ btw einstein, the leafs are not heading backwards for the first time in years

This post from August 2009 proved to be VERY accurate in the first part (although not quite in the way the poster intended perhaps) but WILDLY inaccurate in the second part, as the leafs stunk the joint out this year even WORSE than they did last year!

do you realise this is 10 games into the season?,,,,,, and things can change quickly

Gee, even after 82 games, things didn't change much for the leafs, did they? Once a bottom-feeder always a bottom-feeder (well maybe not everywhere, but FOR SURE in TO!)

... lets see if your here talking real hockey and not idiotic crap like always after we pass you in the standings, by the way, you have 2 games on us, and like pj stock said yesterday, if the leafs win both those 2 games, the scabs are only 3 points ahead of the leafs :p....... but we have been playing better as i said the last 5 games while you have NOT ....... oh man i cant wait to pass you guys , it is coming soon, better get ur pillow and blankie ready, its gonna be cold under your lil wagon :p

You said you "can't wait" so life must be tough,,,because you're STILL "waiting". The ONLY team the execrable leafs were able to pass was the injury-decimated Oilers.

Now, no need to insult Iggy just because he's made you realize that your team is among the worse in the NHL. It's also possibly one of the worse Habs teams ever! Hey, i know the truth hurts, but come on....give the guy some slack.

Hey Doc, can you name the 8 teams still playing hockey? Two hints: one is Detroit, and one is not Toronto. A third hint: reread your quoted post.

But my personal impression is that Halak isn't strong enough to be a number one goalie. Like Toskala, he is a very good back-up goalie, where you can spot his starts & put the less pressure on him as possible.

You mean the Habs beat the best team in the NHL with a back-up goalie? Gee, thanks for the explanation. But about the part where you said "put the less pressure on him as possible" : some people might think there's pressure in having to win 3 consecutive games against the best team in the NHL, yet Halak wasn't too bad, was he?

i have more hockey knowledge in my pinky finger than you will ever have in your whole body in a lifetime.... .... but hey, how bout them red wings!? :p

Yeah, the Wings are another team still playing hockey. In fact, four of the so-called Original Six are still playing hockey: Detroit, Montreal, Boston, and Chicago.

Quiz: which two "Original Six" teams stopped playing hockey a while ago? Okay, I know it's a tough question for your pinky finger, so I'll tell you the hard one: it's the Rangers. Now, see if your pinky finger can come up with the only OTHER "Original Six" team whose season finished a while ago. Here are some hints: 1. They finished 29th out of 30 teams. 2. They have not one, but two, cancers in the dressing room. 3. They had the worst power play AND the worst penalty kill in the entire NHL. 4. They are popularly known as "Canada's National Embarrassment". 5. They last won the Stanley Cup in 1967 (in fact that was the last time they even made it to the finals). 6. They have only two fans left (both of whom are MERBites). 7. Their future is as grim as their past. Good luck coming up with that answer!

A bad hire - Ron Wilson has been a playoff coaching bust. He’s had stacked teams in San Jose with players like Thornton and Marleau and the best goalie in the NHL last season only to choke in the playoffs again and again, clearly he is not a good motivator and comes to Toronto with a ton of baggage – why else would the Sharks let him go. With no talent in Toronto, look for the Laffs to be cellar dwellers indefinitely – or at least for another 42 years! :D

Yes it`s always fun to review the boneheaded and flipflopping statements these two leafloving rejects have made. They love to spew out their ridiculous bilge and make completely stupid predictions so it`s always nice to quote their posts when they inevitably become exposed for the total BS that they are.

3 possibilities: 1. They didn't teach grammar and spelling at your school.
2. They DID teach grammar and spelling but you were not clever enough to learn anything.
3. You weren't paying attention to the teacher because you were too busy fantasizing about seeing the boys in your class wearing female clothing.
