Ms. Cairo is going back to his real team after this lifeless effort by the fake team tonight ;)

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=305858

My real team is the Wings...just like your real problem is sexual confusion. Still, I give you credit for standing up for your very close friend Doc in the other thread. Of course you think he has "credibility" - after all it's very obvious that you idolize him (at the very least).

The Dead Things losing 6-0 to the Islanders must be absolutely embarrassing!!!

Of course it's embarrassing - it's always embarrassing when a good team loses.

Fortunately for you and the adoring president of your fan club, you two bosom buddies never get embarrassed for the simple reason that the laughs are never expected to win. Losing is the well-accepted destiny of the Maple Laughs.

Not as embarrassing as loosing to the ''powerfull'' Hurricanes...and Oilers last week!!LOL!!!

Well said as usual Cosmo. The pathetic leafs lost to the 29th and 30th place teams but their halfwitted fans hold hands in joyous celebration over the fact that a good team like the Wings happens to have an off night and lose. Well I guess if you're dumb enough to be a leafs fan that's all you can ever hope for

Actually, yes!!! It is indeed more embarrassing to losing to the Hurricanes & Oilers by a slim margin. THE DETROIT DEAD THINGS LOST 6-0 TO THE FUCKIN' NEW YORK ISLANDERS!!!!!!!! HOLY CRAPARINO, BATMAN!!!! SHUTOUT BY THE NEW YORK ISLANDERS!!! Even the Leafs haven't sunk to that level!!

So I guess the leafs have passed the wings in the standings? Let me check.
Oh no, they're still WAY behind. But I guess you and your bosom buddy are happy because even though TO lost to the 30th place team, they PROUDLY held on to 28th position...ONLY because the 29th place team also lost!

What's really funny is that even "Dead Things" are FAR better than the perennially hopeless maple shits.

ahhhhhhhhhh my puppet has returned with his usual uneducated wit, so your saying a fan is dumb to support a team they grew up with all their life? i guess its easier just to be a bandwagon and a joke fan and pick a winner cause they, ummm Win? yea that makes you a real fan, in your lil confused world maybe, but not a true fan of hockey

I'm not your "puppet" - keep your hands to yourself. And I'm not saying fans are dumb - it's just LEAF fans who are dumb (which gets proven day after day after day in the hockey threads here).

Leaf fans are not really dumb, they just have battered leaf syndrome.

the only leafs fans that are pissed off at BB are the leaf bandwagon fans who expect a stanley cup every year and cry when things dont go as planned or who go hibernate like little babes, real fans stand behind their teams thru thick and thin...... Burke is adding pieces to the puzzle for the future.......

I think someone needs to help your dad solve the puzzle.

i am liking what Burke has done so far today, and i'm positive he's nowhere close to being done, word is he's in route to sweden right now trying to land/convince Jonas Gustavsson to sign as we speak, and the signing of Komisarek wont hurt his cause

The signing of Komisarek sure as hell hurt someone's cause: namely anyone who actually roots for the leafs.

the Maple Laff’s one dimensional defense will be among the most penalized in the league next season – any team with a decent forecheck and power play will light it up against the Maple Turds!

A stunningly accurate prediction made by GHG 6 months ago - perfectly accurate, unlike the ridiculous predictions and futile boasts of some leaf fans we could name.
The chief leaf fan has as usual deleted his most incriminating posts but a lot of them survive anyway because other writers quoted them. Most people did so to mock them but let's be fair: not everyone was negative - his pet parrot usually did it as a sign of his true devotion to his hero.

Here are some of my faves:

Komi's rumoured to be heading to Boston. I hope it's true, since i don't want him with the Leafs.

And you say that the Leafs overpaid by giving a 5 year contract to their next captain for $4.5 million per?? Are you serious? This past winter, some teams were saying that Komisarek would get at least $5 million per season, if not more........

THE LEAFS MADE A BRILLIANT MOVE TODAY BY OBTAINING MIKE KOMISAREK AT A VERY GOOD PRICE!!!!!

Kommy is not only a top 4 defenceman, but he's also a character player with considerable leadership qualities. Heck, the Habs had him behind the bench as one of the assistant coaches last season when he was injured. This says a lot about the guy. Great move!

i give you the next captain of the toronto maple leafs:

michael komisarek

for at least the next 5 years, then luke schenn will step in & take over the role.

He's exactly the type of player brian burke has been looking for to toughen up this leafs team. He wants other teams to be afraid the next time they come to play at the acc. I'm sure he's not done yet in trying to improve toughness on this team.

Wow!!! I think getting him for that kind of money is a great move by BB!!!!!

If it would have been for $5 million or more, i would have said the opposite. Great move, Brian!!!!!!! Another potential captain on the Leafs!!!

I also love the Pavel Kubina trade to Atlanta for Garnett Exelby

The Leafs also got much tougher!!! I love Exelby!!!!

Francois Beauchemin signs with the Leafs for 3 years at around $10 million!!!!!!

Great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that's what i call a GM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bravo Burkie!!!!!!!!

I love the Leafs defence right now....big!!!!!!!!

But since the arrival of Burkie, they're a team on the right path
It's great to be a Leafs fan these days!!!!!!!!!!

The Leafs are a different team with Kessel & Gustafsson in the lineup.

I'm proud to be a Leafs Nation member tonight!!!!!!

For the sake of Habs fans, i surely hope that Mike Cammalleri scores at least 30 goals. However, it won't be easy for him playing in a Jacques Martin system.

A stunningly accurate prediction made by GHG 6 months ago - perfectly accurate, unlike the ridiculous predictions and futile boasts of some leaf fans we could name.

Why thank you! In fact here's the rest of what I predicted 6 months ago:

As for that over –rated, bag of hot air Burke, lets look at Maple Loser additions and subtractions.

Lost

Antropov (21G, 46 Points in 63 Games)
Moore (13G, 41 Points in 63 Games)
Kubina (14G, 40 points in 82 games)

Added

Komisarek (2G, 11 points, 121 pim in 66 games, on a playoff team)
Exelby (0G, 7 points, 120 pim, -2 in 59 games)
Orr (1G, 5 points, 193 pim, -15 in 82 Games on a playoff team)

Take away Antropov, Moore and Kubina’s production and add all the penalty minutes Orr, Exelby and Komisarek will rack up (hence a lot more time on the PK which translates into around 25% more goals against), on a team that is already lousy on the PK (dead last in the league at 74.7%). The Laffs were the worst defensive team in the NHL last season (dead last with the highest goals against, 293 total = 3.5 goals against per game) and will be even more so this season – and this along with an already feeble offense. End result: the Maple Laffs are no where near a playoff team

The Maple Losers have no team leadership. Wilson is an ineffective coach and has failed miserably to light a fire under your team. Moreover, there is no on-ice leadership to compensate for the coach's failure. You have no captain or anybody who can currently become captain and successfully lead by example. The Laffs are a disorganized, dispirited team, with no cohesion to speak of, and no system to define it.

By no stretch of the imagination have the Laffs made themselves into one of the toughest teams in the league nor do they have one of the top D-corps but the Habs actually might have made themselves into one of the speediest teams in the NHL and in the new NHL speed kills. Don't be surprised to see Montreal put up another 20 points more than the Laffs. While Burke was targeting the “best players not playing in the NHL” Bob was busy signing proven NHL performers.

It’s an annual right of passage for delusional Toronto fans to get all full of themselves about how great the Laffs are going to be. For them it is the one time of year that they can get away with it because there is no fear the team will step on the ice tomorrow and make them look foolish. They will have to wait a few more months for that.

Sorry Maple Loser fans, a marginal (at best) upgrade on the blueline (241 more PIM's) and significant subtractions up front (48 goals and 127 points less) DOES NOT = a playoff team

All the quotes you listed are prime Doc Holliday and he has of course had thousands more over the years as he jumped ship and made his amusing predictions (which SOMEHOW always seemed to get deleted when it became obvious how laughably wrong they were). One of my all-time favorites however is the one above about how "it's great to be a leafs fan these days." I wonder if he and his little lapdog still feel that way?
