Makes sense - why would anyone with a functioning brain ever choose to support a national embarrassment like the hopeless maple laughs?
Just look at this board as an example: there are only two posters who support TO ...and lggy doesn't even count because he just copies whatever his hero Doc does. For that matter Doc has jumped ship so many times that he he doesn't really count either.

Yep, it's an interesting season all right: lots of suspense over whether TO will finish 28th, 29th. or 30th overall.
The leafs are sure scaring people all right - unfortunately the ones being scared are leaf fans.
Well actually I think most hockey people would say NO, if they have seen the results this year! Oh and by the way if Burke "was hired to make Toronto better right away", then guess what: he has FAILED miserably!

You know something? I think ANY team would be happy to be going in the opposite direction from the leafs, who have been in or near the cellar all season and are continuing to consistently suck.
Dumb & Dumber
In rereading this thread (which has provided GREAT entertainment!) I noticed that GHG first used the "dumb and dumber" line (in reference to a certain two leaf fans) on July 30 - which means that lg can't even make up his own insults!
This insightful passage was posted on August 15, 2009. You may observe that the leaf fan who produced these remarkable predictions saw great things for his team. Well at least you can give him credit for optimism, but certainly not for hockey knowledge (unless he thinks 29th place is not "backwards").
To the surprise of no one, this leaf-lover is now discounting the past and the present and again making bold predictions for the future. To the surprise of no one, these predictions will turn out to be as ridiculous as all his previous boasting.
This was posted in July 2009. Sure enough, the leafs landed both Komi and the Monstrosity. Congratulations! (Oh, and by the way, how did their season end up with these 2 important acquisitions?)
