Nobody gives a rats ass about the clients, and it’s quite likely XO is out of the Montreal escort news next week. In the US these types of stories can be reported on monthly.

A bust in Massachusetts is one of the only times I’ve seen clients names released, and one look at the government of Boston and across the state tells you all you need to know.

Yes, that is also what I think. It is way too much trouble for LE to look at every single client. Also, in order to actually punish someone, they have to get somebody's testimony. One of the reasons why I think this will blow over very soon is that a lot of the girls who worked for XO (some of which are people I know) are still in the sex industry and are afraid of getting involved.

I think if they do get some clients, it's because it's been said that they did something abusive to the girls. But even then.. I highly doubt that will happen.

I would go as far as to say if a regular Joe calls up police to turn himself in for being an XO client, the police will laugh and hang up on him and tell him to call back only when he has an emergency. They don’t give a shit.

If you look at criminal prosecution cases for any criminal cases against clients, the number of people prosecuted is very low year to year, and in almost every case, some level of human trafficking, or abuse to the sex worker is involved. Arrests for the purchase for consideration is low on most LE’s radar for enforcement unless minors are involved or some form of human trafficking is involved.

I have the official data on arrests. These are police statistics from Statistics Canada.

• In Quebec, in 2024, there were 153 arrests and 133 people were accused of buying sexual services, or communicating for the purposes of buying such services, from an adult. The numbers are rapidly trending upwards: in 2023, it was 66, in 2022: 33, in 2020: 6, for accusations. (1)
• Regarding the same infraction for the sexual services of a minor. There were 25 arrests in 2024, but only 9 were accused. (2)
• To put things in perspective, there were 45,736 arrests for assault in Quebec in 2024. (3)

Analysis: These are very small numbers. The strong upward trend in arrests is notable and likely signals a shift in priorities for law enforcement more than a corresponding increase in the volume of infractions. The even smaller number of arrests for people targeting minors, on the surface, contradicts the usual MERB narrative. However, based on media reports, it is likely that most, if not nearly all of these arrests resulted from rare (and mediatized) sting operations (i.e. they were really targeted). These operations actually do not involve any minors, but rather suspects communicating for the purposes of buying sex from minors in response to decoy ads posted by police. The volume of actual minors engaged in the exchange of sexual services for money is almost certain to be much, much smaller than the volume of adults offering the same services, which would contribute to explain why more people are arrested for buying sexual services from an adult. In addition, as pointed out above, accusations of buying sexual services can arise alongside several other infractions, such as assault or sex assault, that are more often reported to the police.

Alright lets break this down…

For starters, how many 18-25 year old men have the money to access this service? Given today’s rates, i don’t see many active particpants, so lets say this was true, the government/police crack down to take away maybe 0.5% of that age group from accessing sex work? It’s bonkers to me.

Especially since you mentioned “young, horny, underemployed, underpaid and undersexed young men”. These men arent affording sex work services
