C'mon SK, really? REALLY????

CC has a WS Ring which he helped win and has had great years, unfortunately father time has caught up with him somewhat.

Ricky Porcello, Benny E. Boy Cherringtons biggest mistake so far (and there are many and more to come ***cough*** sandoval, ***cough*** ramirez) is signing a unproven (for 21mil a year) pitcher with little upside to that ridiculous contract and should get benny E boy fired eventually. Ricky Porcello had his "career year" last year it would seem. Have fun with him for another several years in chow-DUH town

Absolutely correct, lgna. Let's go to the video tape. They almost look like the same pitcher looking at the stats except Porcello is 26 and Sabathia is 34.

Rick Porcello
Age 26
IP 75.1
W/L 4-6
ERA 5.26
WHIP 1.45
KO 60
KO/9 7.19
$ 12.5 mil 2015 26 mil 2016 to 2019

VS.

CC Sabathia
Age 34
IP 72
W/L 3-7
ERA 5.25
WHIP 1.43
KO 64
KO/9 7.8
$ 25 mil thru 2016 vesting option 2017, Yankees have a 5 million buyout option if Sabathia is on the diabled list in 2016 more than 45 days.

Some Rogue Hoser fans just get unplugged and have their heads in the sand.

Hey kids, :D

Video never lies :nono:

Yeah, you pinstripers and pink hat stick with old highlight reels. You won't be talking about current Yankee events will you. :D Pine Tar Pineda got his ass whopped huge.

As for Doc, nice comeback against pitching you described as terrible. The embarrassing part was up until late your team was getting it's as kicked by a team that hadn't scored 8 runs since Napoleon invaded Moscow. The worst of it is the early Sox attack was led by the nearly batting dead Ortiz and Sandoval who I have criticized heavily. Now giving up 10 runs including 3 hits to Rusney Castillo who's been a big question mark until tonight. Peeeuuuuu Toronto.

Now I predict that since Yankee fans and pinky have nothing good to say about their own team tonight they will in desperation make steroid accusations. C'mon boys, DON'T disappoint.

Cheers,

Merlot

DAMN, Merlot, you have BALLS busting the chops of the Yankees. How did those Rogue Hosers do tonight? Those Red Sox of yours were leading 8-1 after 3 innings :whoo::whoo:

Were you taking out your favorite Brewsky, Merlot?

Let's check the scoreboard? Did Boston achieve :peace: ?

No, the Blue Jays came from behind scoring 9 runs in the 7th to win 13-10 after trailing by 7 runs.

So in typical Red Sox fan style are you knocking the Yankees while your team continues to SUCK? :D :) Go Red Sox :thumb:

How's the Red Sox' ERA compared to the rest of the league, Joe.T?

Miley explodes!!! He tells Farrell that Doc Holliday was right all along!

Did you catch the exchange between Miley and Farrell on Thursday night?? Major blow-up!!!!

If you look at the video and have the ability (like me) to read lips, Miley is telling Farrell: "This dude Doc Holliday was 100% correct about you, John! You're the worst manager in all of baseball!"

Miley explodes on Farrell

Hmmmmm, your insider sources are two days late. Only a Doc Holliday would take credit for being behind the times.

The Miley screeching also has nothing to do with the quality of management. If it did then Billy Martin would have been the biggest managing asshole of all time. Some players are just jerks, or they lose it when they have a bad day. Farrell handled it well by keeping his control publicly not putting on a show of egos gone mad like Martin and Jackson to see who can be the loudest insane idiot. No doubt Farrell laid down the law in private, the right way to handle things, and Miley is lucky Farrell is not Belichick or the pitcher could have found himself dumped from the team instantly.

Cheers,

My sources tell me that privately, Farrell told Miley: "Who the hell is this Doc Holliday anyway? What does he know about baseball? Has he ever played in the majors?"

Miley supposedly replied: "Who cares! He knows as much about baseball as you do, you doofus! He may have never played in the majors, but we'd be up there at least contending with the Blue Jays if he'd be our manager instead of you!"

I can't vouch if this is actually how it happened. I'm simply reporting what i've been told. :D

The worst baseball team with the worst fans deserves the worst manager. Boston fits the bill, no? :thumb:

Dead last by a landslide in the AL and second worst in MLB.

What a comeback by the red hot Blue Jays, I thought that the game was over when it was 8-1 but when I read this morning that the red hot Blue Jays won I was surprised, I guess you should never count out the opposing team when you are playing the Red Sux, Farrell gone by the All-Star break, you read it here first.

BTW- Look for Merlot to call for the closing of the Baseball thread(again).

Interesting stats, Blue Jays and Yankees are 1-2 in runs scored in the AL, meanwhile the light, light, light, ultra light hitting Red Sux are getting spanked silly(again) by the RED HOT Blue Jays as we speak, I'm also constantly checking the wire for any news on Farrell's dismissal.:yield:

Congratulations to the Toronto Blue Jays on a 10 game winning streak, which began against the Washington Nationals and included sweeping the Houston Astros. I am sure admittedly by some honest fans (are there any in bean town though?) the last 2 series were against less competitive teams, the Florida Marlins and lastly the Boston Red Sox, especially the Red Sox. Gee, if every team could have a 10 game streak that included the ultra-light, light, light light, (a few more hundred lights) hitting Boston Red Sox.

It's been quite dramatic for both Jays and Red Sox fans over the past two weeks. But in different ways. The Jays are the hottest team in baseball and are going for their 11th straight win today against the sockless Red Sox, who are currently in a freefall. The Jays beat the Red Sox in 11 innings on a homerun by sparkplug Russell Martin, who got things going with a bases-loaded triple in the previous game. Martin is a big reason why both the starting pitching and especially the bullpen have been very effective lately. He calls a great game and is one of the best pitch-framers in the game today. Even though the Jays still have two starters out of the lineup, the replacements have done the job when inserted into the lineup.

I honestly believe that John Farrell will be fired by the all-star break. Cherington should also be fired, but if it happens it'll only happen at the end of the season. The manager always winds up paying the price for his GM's mistakes. Yes, even if that manager (Farrell) is the worst manager in baseball.

The Yankees have slumped recently. They're still hitting pretty good, but the pitching hasn't been very good. Other than Tanaka, whose arm could go anytime, the rest of the starting staff has been very disappointing. Especially Sabathia. But all season long, Betances and Miller have been lights-out and covered up for an average pitching staff and a crappy bullpen. But now that Miller will be out of action for at least a month, the Yankees will likely have to hit like crazy in order to stay up in the AL East standings. But let's be honest, it won't happen. There are way too many holes in that lineup. A-Rod remains one of their best hitters and this tells it all. McCann has been a big disappoint. Texeira has hit very well, but he's overdue for some DL time. Stephen Drew hits the occasional homerun, but not much else. He's hitting below .200 once again. As for Gregorius, he's got a very good glove, but no bat. Chase Headley has also disappointed and hasn't done much. Their best player is Brett Gardiner. Jacoby Ellsbury is injury-prone and he's been out of the lineup for an extended period once again. What a wasted talent!! And then there's poor old Carlos Beltran in right field. He's not doing much at the plate and he's become a bad fielder. He's terribly slow and takes him forever to get to balls. The other guys on the ballclub are a bunch of nobodies, so i won't bother mentionning them.

As i mentionned previously, the loss of Andrew Miller will be devastating. But not only do i blame Joe Girardi for this, he has also publicly blamed himself for overusing both Miller and Betances so early into the season. The reason for this is that he's got no confidence in the rest of the bullpen. Someone close to the team told me that Miller's injury is very similar to Tanaka's injury last season. As a baseball fan, i hope this is not the case. Miller has been a pleasure to watch this season and a pennant race is always more interesting when the Yankees are involved, like 'em or not. I could say the same thing about the Red Sox, but let's face it, they're a lost cause.

It now looks like it'll be a three-way race between the Jays, Rays and O's.

I don't think counting the Yankees out because they have some injuries at the moment and they had a 3 game losing streak, is a good analysis of the AL East at the moment. NYY is still tied in first place with 3 games separating the first place Yankees and Rays from 3rd place Baltimore, while Toronto is only 1 game behind. It is very much a 4 team race, NYY, Jays, Rays and O's. The only team that is out at them moment are the Red Sox. No surprise there.

Blue Jays look impressive with their 11 game winning streak.

You have to feel sorry (but not really) for those delusional Red Sox fans who thought the Red Sox could go from last to first again. It's not going to happen this year, as the Red Sox are 8 games back and 10 games under .500. Ouch, the sockless Red Sox lost 13-5, but how many runs a team loses by is immaterial (taking the class route Merlot ... hope you notice it). A team can lose by 1 or 10 runs and it's 1 loss in the Loss column just the same.

Next up for the Blue Jays are the Mets (4 games) and then the Orioles (3 games). The Yankees have the Marlins (4 games) and then the Tigers (3 games). The Rays have the Nationals (4 games) and then the Indians (3 games). The Orioles have the Phillies (4 games) and then the Blue Jays (3 games).

Guys,

It's been quite dramatic for both Jays and Red Sox fans over the past two weeks.

It's interesting that you take some interest in your own team instead of acting like a desperate scavenger of anything negative, the bloodier the better. Too bad these shows of being a fan come and go with the up and downs of streaks which seem to happen every year for Toronto teams before the usual and inevitable fall off and plunge. Yes, nice run by the Jays, still don't forget that beside today's lopsided don't forget that the Red Sox have hit the Jays more than any other team this year. Boston has averaged 6.33 runs per game against the Jays versus 2.66 runs per game versus the Orioles just the series before. Had it not been for a comedy of errors by the Sox opening the flood gates, like today, you'd have lost two games. Sure I know a win is a win, but these were not good signs. If the idiotic fielding in the 4th inning had not continued today would have been an entirely different game.

Still it's nice to see you posing as a general expert  instead of performing your favorite hobby, picking at every wound. Nice that you care about the Jays...for now. :D

Cheers,

Merlot

Last night with some time to kill until the start of 'Game of Thrones', i decided to go online and check out the local papers such as the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe in regards to what they had to say about their 'heroes'. To my surprise, one of the reporters wrote that their season is literally over. But what i found very interesting were the reader comments. One hundred percent of them were negative in regards to their team. Most of them blamed either Farrell or Cherington....or both. "Fire Farrell!!!" "Fire Cherington!" "Fire Luccino!" "2013 was a mirage!!" "Get rid of Sandoval!!" "Get rid of Miley and Porcello!" "Please trade Ramirez!" "Time to trade Bucholz!" "Time to finally trade Pappi!" "Please get rid of Napoli!".....and so on. If you don't believe me, go check them out yourself. It's crazy!!!

To be fair, even though many readers have lost faith in Farrell's managing skills, Cherington gets as much blame, so does Larry Luccino. Many fans say they've wasted away the owner's millions and must go.

I was planning to head to Toronto in two weeks for their weekend series against the Red Sox. Usually, i attend the Red Sox and Yankees series. I love the atmosphere that Red Sox and Yankees fans bring to the ballpark. But usually, the Yankees and Red Sox are among the leaders in the standings when they're in town. So this time around, i will likely pass and cancel my trip to Toronto. Why spend money on a visiting last-place team?

... 'Game of Thrones',...

Yup! Love the show. Really addicted. BIG BIG BIG stuff last night. One unsurprising death, one surprising but not so surprising death (hated it), one complete turn around I had been dying for, one mysterious personal affliction, something that looks very dangerous but is probably a reconnection with a former band, and one remarkable humbling journey. Can't wait already.

... check out the local papers such as the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe in regards to what they had to say about their 'heroes'.

Of course it's almost all negative. You're not talking about New York or Toronto habitual delusionalists. Far be it from Doc the scavenger to let in anything positive, but generally speaking it's been may the worse season so far since I was a small kid fan back in 1966. Every has a different set of solutions so if some hater wan't to compile them all in one reference there's plenty to work with, yet he has not mentioned anyone saying we should throw games for higher draft picks. Right Doc! :D

On any team in the current situation it's easy to find a lot to change and many to blame. Basically the young players are doing fine. Some are establishing themselves and some are working on it with some progress. The problem is the monied older players, except for Pedroia, are either older and fading, failing to live up to expectations, some may have a poor attitude or are very frustrated with themselves and others. They are far from being a team in sync or harmony and some are playing like total shit. Lately they have given way games outright by errors, or blown games against questionable teams like TORONTO...no, a hot streak against light usually competition does not indicate a good team. With all that, many recriminations are natural...and still people go to the games unlike the empty seat plague in the Bronx.

Yup, the team is playing very badly and the critics are having a field day. Anything else would be shocking. What's not shocking is Doc wants to be the leading scab picker. Bravo!
