Weren't the red sox supposed to be built on sabermetrics? Wasn't there some guy around here long long ago who harped over and over what a freaking genius the inventors of this very flawed statistical system were? (don't the crickets speak volumes?)

Sorry to say but while you can use all the sabres and all the metrics you so choose all day long, they do not account for 1. Injuries 2. Players having bad seasons 3. Intangibles and 4. Inept front office people ......

See the boston red sox for all of the above.

Speaking of a Genius, I do believe our own MISTER Joe.t predicted a worst to STILL Worst finish for the 2015 rouge hosers and while there is still time for the red sox to climb to fourth, folks lets be real here, there is a better chance of lucille and stella having a real life battery operated cat fight over their best friend.

Sabermetrics anyone!!!!.

Third best team in the AL.

Honest Fans!!!!!

So barring a miracle and the rouge hosers run off 8 or 9 wins before the trade deadline to give them hope (lol, hey i did say a miracle) who will they dangle as trade bait? A better question might be who would want any of their veterans? I would say perdroia brings in a decent return of draft picks or prospects but that is about it. dAve ortiz would get maybe a 18th round draft pick, napoli and victorino worse picks and maybe that old japanese closer gets something a little better like a 15th rounder but man, what a sad state of affairs that team is in, isn't it just lovely? :D

Meanwhile, the train in the Boogie Down Bronx keeps picking up steam. Another strong outing by Tanaka today and the Yankees bats pounded out 13 hits. Word going around the rumour mill has the Yanks looking to add another relief pitcher, Chapman from the Reds would be the perfect scenario and solidify the Yanks bullpen as the very best in the game if it already isn't.

Yanks won that game 9-3.

Sabermetrics anyone!!!!.

Third best team in the AL.

Yanks are playing great!

Yes, Joe.t is our number 1 predictor of outcomes. Yanks on top. Sox dead last.

Where are our friends from the North? Chirp, Chirp, Chirp .... :noidea:

Anyone else heard these reports the last 24 hours that the Tigers are thinking of being sellers by the trade deadline?? They are only i think 4 games out. I heard Price and Cespedes would likely be dealt if they get good enuf offers. (maybe Kinsler as well?)

Their owner (Ilitch) is no spring chicken but has he lost his mind or has he just decided that the Pizza Business is better than the baseball biz? Lets hope he feels the same way about Pizza and let's his "other" team that plays in joe louis arena, dwindle away as well.

Maybe he is ill and losing his mind because the Tigers still have about 70 games to go and are not out of the race by any means.

It's sad how the majority of Red Sox fans stopped posting in this thread once they realized once and for all that the Red Sox not only suck, but that they are one of the worst teams in all of baseball!

I must admit that i erred in predicting that the worst manager in baseball, John Farrell, would likely be fired by the all-star break. However, i must pat myself on the back since i did predict on day 1 that the Red Sox would finish last in the East.

The Red Sox must absolutely start from scratch next season and rebuild this terrible overpaid team of bums. They absolutely must trade the likes of Dustin Pedroia and Clay Bucholz while they till have value. Let's face it, no one wants David Ortiz, Mike Napoli and Shane Victorino. They are done as major league baseball players. They only keeper is Bogaerts. Everyone else on that roster should be on the market.

The Yankees have surprised me. I admit it. Now it seems that only the Jays have a chance of catching them. It should be a great August and September! (Ok, maybe not in Boston! lol)

There is no way they can win the Division. No way! KC is up 10 game I think and they are playing great ball. The Tigers may be able to get the last wildcard but that is all. The problem is Miggies hurt and pitching. Starting pitching - with the exception of David Price - has been much worse than expected. The bullpen had one good unexpected break when Joe Nathan had a season ending injury. There just are not enough arms there. We have lost every extra inning game I can rememeber. The pen has been bad forever.

The Fister deal was the worst deal in Tigers history. Brad Ausmus is a terrible manager. Did you see when he pinch ran for Victor Martinez with a pitcher. The Tigers did not score and it came back to bite us in later innings when Vmarts spot came up to bat. They intentionally walked Miggy to pitch to the pitcher with The Tigers rallying.

It is time to sell.

All seems unusually quiet from one rouge hosers side around here and that can only mean one thing:

Ladies of Montreal, beware.

I seriously doubt it, K. He would be risking being banned for good and his reputation would be tarnished forever. And he probably has to be tested on a periodic basis. I bet he conditioned himself on his off year. But I guess you wouldn't be a Red Sox fan if you didn't put Arod's achievements in question.

Royals got their top flight starter that they needed. They are playing with confidence and they are on their way.

Many Redsox fans had written off Tiger's SS, julio Iglesias's and his bat. It is late July and Iggy the All-Star is hitting .324. Who did you guys get for him again?

I am no Joe T but I did correctly predict ARod to hit 20 HRs or more. Looks like he will hit 30 or more. Tigers 3B prospect Castallanos is finally starting to pay off but it is too late. We're toast.

Yawn, Yankees pounding the crap out of Minnesota(again) and are now the second best team in the AL, I sure miss the days of rumples posting foot long articles from baseball writers such as Joe Blow, Joe Schmo etc on how terrible the Yankees were or maybe it's just that those guys don't have a job anymore.:noidea:
