And what a way to celebrate than with another Dinger! Not quite a "A-Bomb" but it cleared the fence in right and that is all that matters.

Congratualtions and Bonne Fete to Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez!

In other news, the Ladies of Montreal can now rejoice.
Happy 40th birthday to Sir Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez.:thumb:

I remember Curt Schilling saying that PED's makes an average player good, a good player very good, and a very good player great. It raises the player's ability a notch. It also has possible long term health risks like cancerous tumors. Even if a player is willing to risk his health, it is not fair to all of those players who play or have played without the PED's. It taints the game. PEDs are not a good idea.

For pitchers I can see. After they throw a game or two they probably have a sore or tired arm for the entire season. But for a hitter I don't get it. You still have to have the hand-eye to meet the ball. Maybe there is greater bat speed generated? I think it is more the plecebo effect.

Just in - Shane Greene relegated to the bullpen.

Seems Greene is now going to screw up the last half of a ball game instad of the first half.

Faster bat speed and more power for the hitter. PED's adds strength to the user. It can give the batter the ability to hit the ball further he would otherwise.

There are several articles. Some say what you say. It is giving only a placebo effect and some say it gives the player an advantage through increased strength, increasing the bat speed and power. Below is an interesting graphic of how the average player fared during the different baseball eras. Notice the Steroid era. Much better:

How much Shane Greene faded from his prospectus is amazing. The Yankees's scouts have been vindicated.

Is anyone getting the name of that train steaming thru Arlington at the moment? 15-5 Bronx Bombers in the 3rd inning. This team is on FIRE!

And in other news, the rouge hosers got shellacked once again. Yanks kicking butt, red sux lose and brady gets what he deserves (actually far less but real fans of the game will take it) and one so called sports fan around here is taking the beatdown of all beatdowns, Great Great GREAT day and evening in sports :thumb:

Yanks score 3 touchdowns tonight. That is 3 more than a guy named bRady will be involved with in the first four games of the football season :thumb:

And Tom Shady Brady surely wasn't quarterbacking, haha.

Yanks have a 7 game lead against 2nd place Baltimore and look how far the Red Sox are ... 14 games. Bet you Boston will be more than 20 games back by the beginning of September. That Sabertooth Tiger method of predicting games only works on the Flintstones.

Hello BOYZZZ!

Hmmmmmm, it's all the rage to be enraged by cheating. So why is it the only thing we hear are CRICKETS! Joe.t, iggy, Smuler, pinky, and all the so-called keepers of honor  and integrity for the game you must be outraged to near madness that another player has been caught as a repeat offender for cheating. How can it possibly be SILENT!!! Oh wait, yup, the honor integrity sham disappears when the offender isn't from a Boston or New England team. Let's call it another episode of...Phonies Exposed 101.

Condolences to our Mets fan whose team has now joined the ranks of permanently stained DIRTY CHEATERS...according to all the high and mighty biased standards of your pals. It's actually a shame someone else was so shady and desperate enough to cheat, never mind being caught. Is it a coincidence that among the long list of cheaters the only ones suspended for 162 games have come out of New York teams. What is in the water there? Now the other New York team shares the longest steroid suspension trophy.

1. If you paid attention, you would see that i posted my displeasure at the cheater last night

2. I have nothing against Boston, or New England... I have never said anything about the Red Sox or the Bruins. I do not know why you would say this about me. If this is the best thing you can come up with because I agree that the Tom Brady suspension is merited, so be it. I find it laughable

I think that you should take a break from these sports threads for awhile ( like your buddy ) you wouldn't want that forehead to start to blister...

How about Noah Syndegaard last night...dominant performance

Best Regards

I saw it. Honestly, I sympathized. However, the phonies are your pals. You? Well you pretend to be above it all then you try to sneak in a dagger, like yesterday. You want it both ways. I post my displeasure about a lot of things the Sox have done including the ones found cheating. It hasn't prevented your buds or you from posting venom...and going further.

As for what I said about your team, your pals give it all the time. If you don't like it you don't like your pals much. Their attitude has been any stain is a stain on the team and the fans. Talk to them about it.

...you wouldn't want that forehead to start to blister...

Mr. innocent. :D

A dagger

I waited until the verdict was final, then commented on it...you are the one with egg on your face, that it didn't come out the way that you hoped...

My buds ???
Last time I looked, I was a free agent ??

If them being my friends, going out socially, and going to agency parties are considered being my " BUDS "

Ok..then so be it

Lets try to stick to baseball, rather than dragging other battles into this ( where have we seen this before ? :noidea: )

I waited until the verdict was final,...

"Final" That's a joke. Anyone who thinks this verdict is final has no clue. Any who thinks a guy judging himself is justice has no right to say he's using sense of any kind. The only reason I've been dying for this decision is so the many stages of the farce would be over and Goodell would set himself up to play the fool in court. He did that better than expected by playing politics with the decision and sticking to a gross punishment far out of line with the issue, especially by his own previous judgement with Favre.

Goodell couldn't have made it better for Brady and everyone supporting him.

Many thanks Roger. :D

Please explain

It's the top of the 8th in a game tonight. A team, which has no chance of appearing in the post-season, is already behind by 7 runs. They challenge a close play.

My question: Why bother?

(Some will be delighted to know that the team in question is Boston. I am still curious.)

Cole Hamels traded to the Texas Rangers

The Rangers traded 3 or 4 prospects (Williams, Alfraro, Eichoff, etc) to the Phillies for the ace.

Now David Price's value will continue to increase. Will the Jays pull a rabbit out of a hat and get the big lefty? Or will he go to the Yankees? Where will he go?
