Jays demolish Tigers 15-1; Encarnacion hits three homeruns

Drew Hutchison pitched a gem and he's now 13-2 for the season. Russell Martin also hit one out.

I now firmly believe that the current edition of the Blue Jays may be the best hitting team in the history of MLB. I honestly cannot think of a better & more dangerous team hitting-wise.

Forgot to mention Edwins 2nd grand slam in a week and a 9 RBI day, it doesn't even seem fair what this team is doing to opponents.

Irony is as good as their hitting is their pitching may even be better, yeah they had 15 runs but they only needed 2 for the win way their bullpen and starters have been going.

2 losses to the Red Sox for my Mets
Both Harvey and De Grom deserved a better outcome

Mets announcers talked a lot about Swihart
He looks like a good player

I totally agree. The starting pitching has been nothing short of great. Same with the bullpen. But the biggest improvement has been team defence. Revere and Pillar have been tremendous in the outfield. Donaldson and Tulo great on the left side of the infield, Goins and Smoak have also played gold glove calibre since they'be been inserted fulltime in the lineup. They're a better team with Goins playing second ahead of the injured Devon Travis.

The Russell Martin/Dioner Navarro tandem may just be the best in the major leagues. And finally, Edwin Encarnacion may just be the best and most dangerous DH in the AL.

I'm really starting to believe in this team. And it wouldnt surprise me to see Marcus Stroman join the starting rotation next week. He was supposed to be oit for the season with a torn ACL suffered in spring training, but he's had a miracle recovery. What a team!

Yeah I totally agree, I'm trying to temper my excitement, cause a team built this way its really a World series appearance or bust. Despite the 22 year absence from the playoffs I don't care so much about success now, we need to save some of this magic for the post season or keep it going all the way.

The one thing that makes me feel good about the team, is that it's not just pitching, or hitting, base running , defense or the top of the lineup. It's that they can beat teams a lot of different ways which is great in case bats go cold, but right now 1 through 9 is hitting and the entire team has an excellent plate approach coaxing a lot of walks. Defense and great at bats are sustainable, plus 14 run diffrentials not so much especially in a best of 5 series...

Going to be a great battle going down the September stretch between my two favorite teams who keep winning while the horrible, pathetic Red Sox keep losing and will finish in last place, on the bright side(if you can call it that) it looks like the Sux will not reach the 100 loss plateau.

Jays and Yanks keep on winning, meanwhile the rouge hosers lose again, Ricky "the stick" Porcello lost yet again to improve his win/loss record to 6-12 and will likely finish at 6-15 for the season, maybe even 6-16 with a subpar 5+ ERA. He should come to just for laughs next summer and tell the crowd how he got a $21million per year contract ready to kick in next year and beyond meanwhile pitching like he belongs in the minors, he would single handedly be the hit of the festival and could headline it.

How about that great performance by Henry Owens today, another Dud produced by the horribly year after year overrated Red Sux farm system.:yield:

It would really not surprise me if the franchise was sold during the off-season. Seriously!

This makes sense and I wouldn't be surprised one bit, it's rumored that Henry cares only about Liverpool and could care less about the Red Sux, if he really cared their organization from top to bottom including their horribly overratred farm system wouldn't suck hippo balls year after year.

In other news, will Matt Harvey & Scott Boras force the Mets' hand in getting him shut down for the rest of the season a week or so from now?

Mark Texeira out for the entire season with a broken leg (tibia). He'll be on crutches and need three months to recover.

In other words congratulation to my Blue Jays on winning the AL East Division

Interesting double-header today. If they sweep the Yankees, the East is pretty much theirs. If they split, i'll be happy. If the Yankees sweep, i'll be worried. The key game will be the first game today.

Jays going for the 4-game sweep today against the hated Yankees

What a weekend it's turning out to be for Canada's team, the Toronto Blue Jays. They now lead the Yankees by 4 1/2 games and are now only a couple of games behind the KC Royals for the best record in the AL.

However, they may have lost star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to a fractured scapula after he collided with centerfielder Kevin Pillar when they both tried to catch a fly ball.

Today ace R.A. Dickey will try to keep the streak going against the overated Tanaka. A question: did Joe Girardi burn out his bullpen yesterday? Will he be able to use Betances and Miller if needed?

The Jays just acquired defensive wiz Darwin Barney from the Dodgers to make up.for Troy Tulowitzki's loss. He'll take over 2nd base platooning with Cliff Pennington while Ryan Goins takes over at shortstop.

Tulowitzki just had a press conference and is expected to be out for up to three weeks with a small crack in his left scapula (shoulder).
