The sad part is that it didn't failed really. Well that is if you don't count the year or so when "Matante Pauline" was prime minister. Hell even i didn't vote PQ during that time, cause i couldn't stand her. But Parizeau and Bouchard, despite the fact i was kinda young back then, did a lot of good for the province. Hell we lost the referendum 50.58% / 49.42%. Merely 1% and a lot of us believe we where robbed

Yes today we lost any chance. There have been way too much immigration since then, the "Quebecois de Souche" numbers are only downing every year especially in Montreal and even among the Quebecois the patriotism is sadly not what it used to. Lots of young peoples care more about what happen in the world than what happen in there own province. Internet and stuff...
We will never be able to be a country, and this will always be a damn shame.
I think the biggest problem of the PQ is that it had trouble finding a true leader since many years. Andre Boisclair had scandals, Pauline was just not charismatic and lots of peoples didn't liked her, and then there was PKP... He originally seem charismatic and determined, but before you knew it he resigned. Also being the boss of videotron kinda caused problems too...
I don't think Lysée is a bad leader or anything. He seem sympatic and seem to represent the party well, but i think he lacks a bit of punch and i don't see the party suceeding with him. Its a shame cause personally i was in favor of Paul St-Pierre Plamondon as leader. He had zero chances realisticaly but i followed him close on facebook and he had very good idea and seem to be what the party needed to revigorate. He is also much younger and can draw much more to the younger audience than a typical white hair polytical old man.
But then again i say this and Couillard actually got elected multiple times despite looking super arrogant, fraudulous, not sympatic at all, AND coming right after the shenanigans of Jean Charest. Ever seen that meme where the 2 are on a picture and Jean says "Jte l'avais dit mon Phil, des memoires de poissons rouge" ? Can't find the exact one but that one is close enough...
