I am still young (40+) but I was part of the army and I saw how people are dying. A real, real problem.
Please - nobody outside your friendly circle can hurt you. Nobody.
So we are all sensitive weaklings in NA and those of us that consult psychologists, psychiatrists etc have no backbone or life experiences?
Please my friend, think before you write such things. You don't have to go to war to see hardship and despair. With a little empathy we can see it almost anywhere.
A smile will not stop bullets but it may just give the person you just crossed the boost to go through their day.

That said, can we get back to rightfully judging and reacting to horrible texts we wouldn’t expect, coming from people who expect SPs to put up with their shit?

But the Fox rescus girl i read her story and im so sad about it. I didn't knew her at all, never saw her content but someome taking care of animals has to be a nice person. Its unfair...
I been bullied all my childhood. I developped a shell (and a particular set of skills...) and now nobody could pierce it. But i know its not the case for everyone so everytimes i read these stories i feel sad for them.
Some humans just prey on the weaks. They look for that. They are like cancer...

When I was a kid, everyday we played outside and nobody had anxiety disorders. Welcome to the new world in North America where kids start to have such medical problems at 12. Recently I mentioned that during years I was raped by a man when I was young, but it was my decision to be focused on the happines insted to stay sticked to the past.
I will repeat one more last time - only family, love and friends can hurt.
I am saying this with all my respect.

It's not because people didn't talk about it that it didn't exist.
I was not born in the 2000. My comment stands. It stands for everything in life, as time moves forward, it’s normal to become more aware of things we once ignored or didn’t notice in previous eras.
You can agree with the ideas of Buddhism in theory, staying detached from strangers’ comments (credit to you for that), but putting it into practice isn’t always easy and everyone has their own journey with that. Telling people how to think won’t get you far.
It doesn't matter to when you are refering to.
Yes people go threw struggles and termoil. But you are gatekeeping. And telling people who are struggling to shut up and smile because someone else is struggling too, doesn't negate the personal struggle they are going threw themselves.
It is beyond just choosing to be happy or not. For many it becomes a complete chemical imbalance in the brain that causes the emotions to be where they are rather than thinking of it as a situational life thing, for most it is a chemical thing in the brain that you can't just will away.
Good for you you got over it. But it also seems you have the most toxic view as to how, and your expieriences seem to have robbed you of any ability to have empathy for others. Seems to me you aren't over it. You just shut it away to use it as a weapon to attack others. (Lack of empathy is just as much a result of what you say you went threw as someone struggling to come to terms with it.)
I would like to add that, ideally, nobody should be able to hurt us. Indeed, our reaction is our own decision, so if a friend is mad at us and throwing plates at us and insulting us, we should remain calm, say we love them and that we forgive them and that we'll be there if they need us always.
This is an ultimate goal. Will everyone of us reach it in our lifetime? Most likely not, but we can work on it. Wisdom is the capacity to let people do their own journey, and be there if they need us.
I am surviving successfully the past 15 years here. Everyday I am fighting with people surrounded with comfort. What I am doing here is equal tomorrow you to take one bag and to go settle your new life in Iran. Do you think that you can handle so much pressure?
I never wrote to people to shut up. The only thing that I wrote was to be careful what and who you can allow to hurt you. Your life your decisions so you can continue to take this personally. Right now reading all these comments I could say that most of you just need validation.
