I think Serena is at a stage of her career where it will be tougher and tougher to get past, or even into the semis at major tournaments. She is just below top 5 caliber which is why she was seeded where she was seeded (10). She may have won her last major. Federer already won his last major and she is about to join him, if she has not already, in the "good enough to compete, but not good enough to win" category that all aging tennis players get to at some point.

Osaka steamrolled SW and apart from Muguruza which in all honesty should have taken her out , she basically cruised through the stacked bottom half of the draw ... now let’s see if Brady’s got the belief and the game to win the final ... one female player that impressed me in the tournament was Muchová... she’s got variety in her game and when you have that your tactically more flexible when plan A doesn’t work ... too bad she wasn’t able to get past Brady as I much preferred her game ...

I’m with you on this one ...Djokovic will be rested where I think he will meet Octopus man Med and lose ... don’t think Tsitsipas will survive him because apart from their last meeting all the rest have gone tge Russians way ...

Djoker wins 9th Australian, 18th Major:
Very disappointing, non-competitive match by Medvedev, who I had given a solid chance at winning based on how hot he had been. But this just shows how the next generation after the Big 3 has simply been very disappointing in producing a consistent winner of majors.

As for the quest for the all time majors lead, it appears to me that Federer is done and Nadal is likely to win #21 in Paris. Then Djoker will really need to win both Wimbeldon and the US Open to hang with Nadal.

I am not a fan of Djoker either and have never liked his attitude or demeanor on or off the Court. When he was a younger player he constantly whined about lack of respect given to him compared to Federer and Nadal, which evidenced his true prima donna nature. That being said, I think his numbers on the head to head against Nadal and Federer are very good. I personally like Nadal the best of the big 3, and consider it amazing that he even has 20 majors given all the injuries he has dealt with in his career, although Djoker has had injuries as well. In any event, these 3 are the dominant players of the 21st Century and nobody else is even close. The Medvedev/Thiem/Zverev generation of players has been very, very very disappointing in terms of someone taking it to the next level. There are no players in this generation that are like Borg or McEnroe or Sampras or Agassi or like the Big 3.

ever since she won the French Swiatek’s been very consistent and I had picked her to win Adelaide as well ... I watched the first set where she managed to run away with it pretty easily... in her defence Bencic was exhausted from the day before playing 3 hours of tennis against Coco G .... I don’t know how good she is on grass but on hardcourts she will compete for tops with the best of them ...

Something’s got to change , perhaps a new coach would help ... can’t be constantly losing in finals when he’s the favourite... also can’t be losing when your up two sets to lower ranked players ... mentally not a top 20 or whatever he is at the moment...
