Seriously, though why are you really so excited about the Yankees? If you are into pain, you can at least have the company of a beautiful dominatrix for the money you will be paying me instead of bemoaning your allegiance night after night in front of a TV. Or has a newer and better masking agent been concocted for steriods?

Because he's a fucking moron®.:D

BTW, as far as projections, no projector with any sense of history EVER projects any starting pitcher for more than 14 wins. This primarily because there's no accounting for injury or run support.

As for Senor October, his knee, having been scoped, is just fine. His knee, btw, didn't prevent him from having another fabulous year in 2007.

BJB,

In today's NY Post there is an interesting story about how Crystal got to play for the Yankees. Apparently, he coincidentally ran into Derek Jeter when both were in Costa Rica on vacation on New Year's Eve (you may wonder what they were both doing in Costa Rica, and it's been speculated on some of the boards that Jeter was there to hobby, and possibly Crystal was as well).

Anyway, Crystal told Jeter he played high school ball in NYC and it was always his dream to play for the Yankees. Apparently Jeter conveyed these sentiments to the Yankees organization which is appreciative of Crystal's fine movie "61" about the 1961 Yankees.

It sounds like Billy did manage to foul a pitch off before striking out, so I consider it a successful debut (and final appearance) as a Yankee.

Time to break out the HGH again Andy! Maybe Rocket can get him a deal, I hear he knows a reliable dealer. :p

Thanks buddy, just to let you know that last week a baseball writer whose name escapes me has Hughes who has been absolutly on fire penciled in for 15 wins and he's just a rookie, add that to the fact that Wang who has won 19 games the past 2 years and is the ace of the staff should be good for about the same and then there is super phenom Chamberlain who will be setting these guys up before he ends up as a starter at some point.:)

Lets play a fun word association game, 3 out of 5 is a pass-

Connect the two sides that have the most in common, match the left side with the word or words that have a association with the right side, answers are at the bottom, it's a no brainer and you should get them right without looking at the answers first.

Hey Joe.GG,

Ya know...this may be the first intelligently funny thing you ever wrote...the quiz approach I mean. But you lose points for that trite "on fire" crap. Uncork the steroids boy...you earned it...lol.

Bend over,

Omigod. Disaster in Tampa

Cy Young Runner Up to Be Phil Hughes today gave up 9 hits in 2.2 innings. Looks like a ticket to Scranton for Phil and crying towels for Joe. Wonder who Phil's gonna vote for in the PA primary?

You can tell by his interviews that Phil is a down to earth guy so automatically he is a democrat unlike the two conservative asswipes from the Red Sox, the ketchup man Schilling and Lowell who along with the cheating Belicheat are the three guys that I hate the most in all of sports with Lowell being number one, I hate that guy with a passion and I smell a .280-.290 season(his usual numbers).

By the way rumples did you hear ARod's prediction for the upcoming season?, he picked Jeter for MVP and Abreu to have a monster year, what he overlooked was my MVP pick Cano.:p

Yep, .280-.290, 20 dingers, 85 rbi. A fine season. We can't expect, and don't expect a repeat of last year. You can also expect Mr. Posada to hit in the .270-.280 range, by the way.

Maybe you're on to something, Joe, you fucking moron®, citing all these spring numbers. Yesterday Hughes got pounded, today it was Kennedy, Joba, and Igawa. Could be a long season for the Bronx Bumblers, what with Pettitte gimpy, Hughes, Joba, and Kennedy all sucking, and Mussina a corpse.

Hey Josey,

I can understand 2 of 3. But why hate Lowell? What has he done or said? Wow! Oh yeah...the Red Sox won the World Series so you can't help hating the Series MVP...that makes sense.

This prediction A-Slob made about Jeter? Was it just kissy-butt time...is A-Slob saying he plans to suck...or is he just being condescending???

Toodles,

Korbel

The last two years the Yankees have gotten off to a slow start only to come back strongly, if they get off to a good start you will be toast MR. anon, I consider this the easiest bet that I have ever made, I just hope that I don't go to jail for this robbery.

Question- If the Red Sox win the World Series for the next 19 years in a row what will have been accomplished?

a) You'll lose so much money that you'll have to collect a lot of bottles and scrub a lot of windshields.
b) You'll still imagine that the Yankees are the better team.
c) Your money will buy happiness. (mine)
d) All of the above

Answer: d)

CCF,

I think it's been speculated on that Board and by others who saw Jeter that he went to Costa Rica with a group of buddies, paid for his buddies to hobby with the local chicas, then went back to his own hotel room to bang his latest model girlfriend. I think Jeter hangs around with a group of guys he has known since high school. In any event the guy is single and free to do as he pleases, just like the rest of us.

Someone who saw the pics before they were deleted told me they were definitely pics of Jeter.

Crystal, on the other hand, was likely banging anything in sight that moved.

EB,

From the CRT thread mentioned above and some others, it seems that Jeter was in Cabo for Christmas with his latest model/actress girlfriend.

It would be surprising if he brought her to San Jose, Costa Rica (not a tourist destination except for the p4p scene) along with his entourage. Any girlfriend of his would get very bored, very quickly in San Jose.

I could see him stopping there briefly (couple hours) on the way to a high end resort, but not staying for a couple days unless he and his friends were looking to play with the local chicas. I'm thinking that he enjoyed being somewhere the local SPs and strippers wouldn't recognize him. He's not a soccer player or reggaetón star... Another Yankee who visited the Blue Marlin Bar/Hotel Del Rey several years ago had a much better chance of being recognized there: El Duque.

You are right though that he has every right to enjoy himself as he likes.

Hello Cercherfemmes,

So Jeter is a hobbyist...maybe. I was with a very well known SP a few years ago who said she had met a famous ball player from the "San Francisco team" visiting to play the Expos. Could it be? Well, it was a strange feeling, but no matter how much money or fame anyone has it seems we still swim in the same pool from time to time, and we are all just one of the boys when it comes down to it. Jeter's not married and he may see SPs...well it's no surprise. Welcome to the club.

Happy batting,

Korbel

Yea, but at least the Sox have sat in the throne this millenium (2x I might add), unlike some other billion dollar failure! :D

A small sample size of 7 years is irrelevant. The true test of greatness is the full results.
SK and I suffer from the same form of early onset Alzheimer's which allows one to forget sporting events prior to the turn of the century.

The Red Sox have won 2 out of the last 4 World Series. It's a good performance but not a dynasty just yet. Gotta win at least 2 in a row for that.

Hello Chercherfemmes,

Yeah, but the funny part is Yanker futility. The Yankers have spent billions to lose, while the World Series Champion Red Sox have spent far, far less to win. Isn't that a great big swift kick in the ass...bwahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Bronx cheers,
